How did your baby get in to the UK without a passport?

Besides what do you need the passport for? To return to Nigeria?

Ask someone to use their card and pay them cash

No they don't accept cash at the embassy, you have to look for somebody to help you buy with card while you give the person cash.

Thanks for the reply. Well, I do receive approximately 112,232.53 as salary and allowances for the month. My uncle is sponsoring the trip because is a compelling family visit. He ought to have been there but will be busily engaging in politics at the said period. Does this genuine reason still raise a red flag for the ECO as the primary reason for the sponsorship though I will attach my financial status as well?

The question will be asked when filling the form. This is where you'll explain to the entry clearance officer the compelling reasons why your uncle wants you to visit the UK. If true, attach paper evidence to your application, but I'll advise you not to apply if you cannot prove this with paper evidence or if the reason doesn't make sense even to you. Entry clearance officers understands the desperation of most visa applicants, they can smell lies even before your application is opened.

That is more than 3x your monthly salary, it could be a problem

Also a problem if it is going to burn most of the savings.

Decided to put this on here in case it helps someone (Long time Nairaland Lurker)

I applied for a 10-year visiting visa on the 6th of April. Before then I had a 5-year visa that expired in December 2015

I wrote a cover letter, talked about my travel history and why I wanted a long-term visa etc.

After I submitted my application I spotted one error (I listed my mum’s birth year wrong) So silly - was doing my best not to panic when spotted it
after I submitted. Also, I mistakenly didn't sign the form after printing it out and the TLS people don't check so it just went in the folder like that!

The question of whether I had been rejected a visa was tricky for me:

In the past I had applied for a visa that was refused, I appealed and won. To me technically that means since my visa was ultimately granted after appeal, I wasn’t “refused.” So I ticked “NO” and explained why I ticked “NO” in the additional information section. (GUYS THAT SECTION IS YOUR FRIEND)

For the medical treatment question, I ticked No at first but I remembered that I once had a dental extraction (which I paid for). I almost forgot the name of the clinic but Google really helped me! I couldn’t remember the exact date (almost 8 years ago since I did that) so I put a rough “guesstimate” Again explained in the additional section that it was such a long time ago and I couldn’t remember the exact date.

Finally for friends + family section: I listed 2 friends and my cousin. In the additional information section, I explained that I have several friends in the UK but I couldn’t include 30+ people etc.

Timeline:

6th April: Submitted Application at TLS Ikeja
6th April: Received message that TLS had passed it on to UKVI
7th April: Received email that UKVI was now with my application
14th April: Received notification that a decision had been made
15th April: Collected Passport with 10-year visa stamp (Didn’t know they returned all documents in the package! When I felt the full envelope I was scared o!)

I hope this helps someone especially on the point “Have you ever been refused” and you are someone that won a visa appeal after refusal. Trust me I trawled through hundreds of pages on this point and found no guidance. Thankful I had a good result! Justwise and co keep up the good work. *Back to lurking mode* smiley

It will depend on a lot of things...

1. Is the business registered?

2. Do you pay tax from the business?

3. Your annual gross/ net profit

4. Married or single?

5. The total Cost of the trip to the UK

Hello great people,

I actually didn't ask much but thoroughly read through the thread and it was useful. Got my visa yesterday.
I want to thank all just wise, front page lawyer and others.

Now a final question that I can't seems to figure out. DO I NEED A TRANSIT VISA TO TRANSIT THROUGH SPAIN??.

I am flying Iberia.

Thanks.

Transit visa is advisable, just incase a delay happens while transiting.
If your flight encounters no delay during your transit, a transit visa is not required.
NB : If any delay is experienced during your transit, the airport chairs, would be your comfort!!!

No you don't need one if the stopover is less than 24 hours and you are not leaving the airport

Good day to everyone in the house, please I need your advise on the status of my bank statement. I have 300k and and cheque deposite of 800k from my cooperative savings making my balance to be 1.1m. The cooperative is my office staff cooperative. The account is my salary account with huge inflow and outflow of cash. Is this account presentable, I am planning to apply for 2 years. Was in UK twice last year on 6 months visa for just short period. Thank you as I patiently await your comments.

Good day to the good people on this forum. Please i plan to go for a 3 weeks vacation during my leave period. the trip would be self sponsored. I'm gathering all supporting doc now but apart from my salary account, i have a separate savings account and i recently transferred 700K from it to my salary account which i would be presenting as my SOA. But reading through previous comments on the thread i noticed its a wrong move. please how can i explain this huge lodgment.

You can present that account as well since it is yours unless you have something to hide.
