A spike in tensions between arch-rivals Saudi Arabia and Iran appeared on Sunday to ruin prospects of the first binding oil output deal in 15 years between OPEC and non-OPEC nations, and looked set to prompt another fall in the price of crude.

Some 18 OPEC and non-OPEC oil producers, including Russia, had been meant to meet in the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday morning and quickly rubber-stamp a deal to freeze output at January levels until October 2016.

But the meeting was postponed after OPEC's de facto leader Saudi Arabia told participants it wanted all OPEC members to take part in the freeze, according to OPEC sources.

Riyadh had earlier insisted on excluding Iran from the talks because Tehran had refused to freeze production, seeking to regain market share after the lifting of Western sanctions against it in January.

I doubt if cbn will raise interest rate. While I'm conversant with the comment made by the CBN governor about raising interest rate, I doubt if they'll eventually toil that line of action again. Because, this is against the principle and strategies for creating an industrial economy. When you raise interest rates, you automatically increase cost of debt and overall cost of operations. That will compound our situation, and bring us back to old age. I think cbn will find other means of taming inflation and liquidity.

except if something changes in the economy before then which is very possible.

But why need I worry of then (may) when today hasn't ended.

God spare our lives

The current OIL debacle started in June 2014 and will go a full circle of 3years,

In other words we should expect the price to bottom-out by 2nd quarter of 2017. Those that has ears let them hear.

Commodity currencies slumped early on Monday while the safe-haven yen soared after global oil producers failed to agree on an output freeze, sending oil prices tumbling a new.

The failure to secure a deal unsettled markets. U.S. crude futures CLc1 slid 6.7 percent to $37.68 a barrel, while Brent futures LCOc1 dropped 6.7 percent to $40.18 a barrel.

http://thenationonlineng.net/51-foreign-investors-exit-equities-bond-markets/

Fifty-one foreign investors repatriated profits from their investments in equities and Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) bonds last week.

The investors considered Nigeria’s foreign exchange policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), especially its refusal to devalue the naira, unfavourable to their investments.

They pushed the transactions through Stanbic IBTC Bank, published data on forex disbursement for last week showed.

The major part of the $15.91 million forex was disbursed by the lender to investors divesting from the country, local businesses importing petroleum products, payment of school fees abroad and settlement of Personal Travel Allowances (PTAs) and Business Travel Allowances (BTAs). cool

Sir, I guess Sir Peterichy had been dealt with by NSE in a very harsh and unprepared way. He should remember that whatever break one in life should be an opportunity for one to make a very undefeated comeback. He should not rejoice in what break him rather than look forward to the strength of his comeback! Seriously his individual personality and mode of his judgement is questionable. I wonder how he's going to be dealing with life unforeseen contingency when it arises? I'm learning so many things in this forum outside of stock market? May the good God continue to bless all our struggles and reward our trying for best!

Wether it relates to Peterichy or not, I'm inspired by the boldened line.
