36 weeks is risky? When would be a good time? We all learn every day.
Seen Olokings posts. Will read up, thanks.
Travel from at least 32-34weeks because the Dr needs to familiarise himself with your case file i.e your vitals (BP,position and size of the baby, etc) runs some tests from which both of you will reach a decision tailor made for your overall health.
If you travel at 36 weeks i think the timeframe is too small for them to get know you enough to try VBAC.
Preggies who do that gangster moves by travelling at 36 weeks usually have an uncomplicated singleton pregnancy with a clear option of VD or CS.
Cheers

Weird or not ts ur choice and evrybody shld mind dr business. Only thing is if u arnt travelling wt a toddler u will have to pay to check it in or use it as 1 of ur luggage.
I wanted to ask same question. Cos if you ain't with a baby or toddler, am just wondering if they can check it in fo free. Who have done this before? Checking in stroller and car seat without a toddler or baby and how much was charged if any. So someone doesn't carry it to the airport and pay even more than what would have used to buy new one lol.

CBP: what are you here for
ME: vacation and childbirth
CBP put your right four finger on scanner
CBP how long are you staying
Me 9 weeks
CBP where are you staying
Me his grace lodge ( Na hear gbege take start)
CBP called another officer who is familiar with El Paso. He does not understand how I would stay in a hotel for 9 wks. He wanted to know the type of hotel.
Na so he call them make them wheel me go secondary inspection, he followed me and went to explain to the CBP officer there.

Sent me to agriculture, nothing was seized.
I am now chilling waiting for connecting flight to El Paso

Hello everyone, my wife and I have pitched tent with medical center arlington and all is well. We have gotten a Dr for 2500 and hospital for 4500. It has however been challenging getting a pediatrician as the few we have spoken to seem expensive or dont do rounds at MCA, one with a Nigerian name even said she doesn't do circumcision,.

Does anyone know any good and affordable pediatrician in Arlington that has privileges with Medical Center Arlington?

The initial baby check after birth for hearing, sight and a few other stuff. Is it done by your pediatrician or by another specialist provided for by the hospital?

Does that come at a separate cost?

Advices would be highly appreciated.

@ passionantchica,
U may still be able to get PTA-apply @ all banks u have acnt with+open new ones if allowed.
The flight was cool, I made sure I enjoyed myself cos I was d only preggy onboard so evry1 including passengers were pampering me.
D Doha to JFK flight was smooth, d plane is so fine I kept admiring it b4 I finally slept.
I chose d seats with enough leg room all tru, d lady in 9ja even booked me 4 a wrong seat and I complained 2 d hostess who then begged a passenger n my seat was changed. I sat on d seat close 2 d bassinet seat-it has no seat in front so enough stretching of feet.

Abeg book wheelchair if possible call Qatar a day/2 to ur trip cos I booked wheelchair @ check-in n d lady complained that I shld ve booked earlier. JFK is a very big airport, u need to enjoy d ride biko.
Cheers!

Meanwhile, how was the flight, especially the Doha to JFK leg? Did you get the exit seat? or which?
And did you use a wheelchair?

Tips for PTA -
apply in small banks like standard chart, wema, union, fidelity, skye, and esp unity .
All banks get pta from cbn but the issues is still the Nigerian factor. Some business guys present fake receipt thereby blocking legit pple .
Make sure u have a contact person for follow up preferably a high ranking office or a very close personal person.
Very important to apply on time (1 month plus before u r date and start calling).
call u r contact on Fridays and Mondays. PTA comes on monday/Tuesday.
Be very persistent .

I suggest you call the hospital and ask for Pediatricians affiliated with them. My hospital actually gave us a list of Pediatricians they work with for us to contact. Maybe you try that?

You don't need it for the passport. Just put zeros in the space for SSN on the application form.

@HouseofMabella
Babe,
Keep calm. SSN not really critical for Passport. Slap some zeros in those damn boxes and put in your application.

But have you explored all possible reasons why the SSN is not yet delivered? Do you stay with family? Can you ask them? Perhaps someone has seen it?
Get your application in then perhaps go to the SSN office to confirm if it can be tracked.
God will work it all out.
All the best.

Check that the address you gave is correct, a colleague had a similar experience and it had been sent elsewhere in error.
Again, please let's know what your total costs to birth at PG hospital with Dr Akoda? I am also Maryland bound and could use the info...thanks

Yes u must apply for medical visa if ur intention is 2 give birth. If u apply as a tourist, omo na lonnnnnng thing 4 u be that. Most of the pple on this thread do not go tru dat route but rather the declare their intentions 2 d VO.

if the original poster is going to dallas, she can be sure to prepare for CS because no/very very very few Ob/Gyn will accept her for a VBac.
majority of their office/practice policy takes VBAC mums at 28 weeks gone and nothing more.

you already have a peculiar case and yet you are still playing gangster by travelling at 36 weeks which by their standard it is considered full term for childbirth.

they are not just after your money you know plus they wont put their license on the line just for a few thousand bucks.

gud luck with your decision further.

.

If u apply as a tourist, u might be asked if u are pregnant.if u say no and visa is given to u, u will have issues at the point of entry.the chances of u r visa being cancel is very high. If you say yes, the voice will ask for hospital and doctors papers. The way I see it , it's easier to get u r papers and go for medical that way you will be settled and calm when coming in.besides who says the don't refuse people going on visits

Omo the decision for u to open acount comes from lagos. DH was asked to fill a form that will be accessed in lagos if we will be "allowed" to open d account. It not like "walk in and open account" thingy like other banks. It has to be vetted in lagos.

Please how was that trip to El paso? Its very hard for me that there is no direct flight. Its too long jo. That is my major issue right now.

1797
Depart NEW YORK (LAGUARDIA), NY (LGA) on Southwest Airlines at 06:55 AM
Arrive in DALLAS (LOVE FIELD), TX (DAL) at 10:05 AM
Wanna Get Away

4640
Change planes to Southwest Airlines in DALLAS (LOVE FIELD), TX (DAL) at 11:00 AM
Arrive in EL PASO, TX (ELP) at 11:45 AM
Travel Time 6 hrs 50 mins

My flight route above, Note that by the time you walk from the arrival gate to the departure gate at Dallas, you would have spent half of the waiting time. i just sat close to the departure gate, ate enough donut and coca-cola to while away the time, it wasn't stressful for me though coz i already had almost a full day rest before embarking on the second trip! i did the same thing coming back with the baby... Arrived New York a day to my JFK-LOS trip.

dont even try spirit, it looks cheap on paper but then you pay for every single thing at the end of the day. its only ok maybe when you arent travelling with luggage, and their service os bad, they can delay like naija airlines. chexk southwestern airlines. Yes, i paid for the ticket online with my gtb card a day to my trip to New York. think about USD500 for return ticket... Southwest hardly change their fares though, my sister paid the same amount when she travelled around December.

From my little knowledge, a car seat is one of the hospital requirements and the seat would be inspected for suitability before your baby is released to you. Don't know about oakbend sha.

Oakbend won't let you out without a car seat.
