am just tired, u know as an introvert, i spent most of time alone, people are not happy about it, they just want me to make friends and enjoy why am not like that, i make friends that i feel will accept me the way i am, i went out this evening to buy groundnut from the shop i don't usually go to i said "lemme go here sef, wetin dey here? I kuku enter, as a stammerer, i stammerer and struggle to greet them, i saw someone laughing, i was like maybe some else was amusing him, i asked them for groundnut, they said it has finished, i saw two bucket of groundnut there, em pain me, i didn't talk to avoid someone laughing, someone hissed as i was leaving their shop, i went to the next shop, greeted the woman no reply, she was attending to someone, i bone, then she asked what do want? I said groundnut, she brought it out, ask me how much i said N100, She kuku give me the groundnut, i gave her N100 i waited for the waterproof to cover the groundnut she said, u don't have a change, (meaning she thinks am stupid i said where the waterproof naa) she said ohhhh "waterproof", she brought out waterproof and gave it to me i walked away, i was hurt and felt like crying, when i was coming home, why do people think about us that way, introverts are not stupid, they just like staying alone mostly, am just sad

You need to work on your self confidence. Shut out any negative comments or sidetalks directed towards you. I have a brother who stammers but you will never know he is a stammerer if you meet him. He speaks slowly and does not waste words. He is also not one to engage in idle chats. Try practicing counting your words. Once you perfect it, you will feel much better. You can challenge yourself by joining groups where you will be forced to face the crowd and give speeches, then let the other group members give you feedback on how you performed. (Google 'toastmasters') This can really help you.

Remember, you are special, you are unique, you are great. No one has the power to make you feel any less than who you are unless you let that person. Learn to love yourself and see others follow suit.

I understand your plight cos i am also an introvert, in fact extreme introvert and most people think i am proud or a sadist,i dont jump queue and i get extremely nervous when around strange faces, i cant even read in my own room cos there are 8 of us in the room and i like doing things alone. I will be 21 this october and i've dated only one girl all my life because i can't start and maintain a conversation unless via a social media platform and btw I am loyal to the core once you earn my trust

Introverts are known to be smart, intelligent, caring and industrious.

This is because, as others are out partying they are busy thinking how those parties can be made better.

As others are busy talking they are busy thinking how to solve a problem.

They dont keep many friends but the few they keep are quality friends.
You are not competing with anybody to have dated alot of girls. So that shouldnt be a priority in your life.

Be determined and later in life you will discover that your life is far far richer than that of an average extovert because some of them are just good at boasting even of things they did not do

Hommie I'm an introvert, I used to wish I wasn't buh now I don't want to have any other personality. Introverts have great minds, we're thinkers. People love us. But first accept that nothing is wrong with you, love yourself and be yourself, don't try to impress. I know we love to be alone most times but learn to be around people sometimes so you'll learn how 2 interact, that's one way to ease pressure cos you feel a lot of pressure. Baba nothing is wrong with u.

Obviously, you are the one that needs to be lectured on who an introvert is.

Doesn't sound like introversion to me, more like some kind of social anxiety issue. It's like you feel like an outsider & wanna be accepted, so when you do go out, you get sensitive to any signs of rejection (whether them be real or imagined). IMO, introversion doesn't neccesarily equate sociallly inept or WEIRDO.

I'm also an introvert & I enjoy my own company more than that of other people, I can't help it. Usually people are drawn to me though, I'm the one that doesn't like to socialize. Also, I tend not to give a rat's ass about most people to begin with, so I cant relate to the social rejection part. I can razzle & dazzle during the short times I spend around people, but for some reason I just cant wait to get away. Sometimes I feel fake, almost like an actor, because I'd tell people, "Let's meet again" or agree to when they suggest we meet up again, while knowing fully well I won't be meeting up again. At least not so soon. I need my space to recharge my energies after any sort of social gathering/interaction.

Swity, I know wat an introvert is, cos I'm one. Not a full introvert sha, nd I've grown to not really care about what people think or say. They can call me a snob or a proud person, who cares. it's their mouth, they should use it. Just be confident, try to take a del breath before you start talking to people. I know that people may mock you because you stammer, don't let it discourage you. They don't know what you have in you, that's why they are laughing, work hard and soon those that laugh at you will sit quietly to listen to you.
