@mapet Nice observation about the minerals sharing.During some studies i noticed Lagos has multiple minerals about 3 in large quantities,I learnt also Zamfara discovered serious reserves of limestone on and on and on..My challenge is why should people keep kicking against Resource control.About Lagos sharing ports revenue,if the Federal Govt gave the same commitment to have multiple ports for coastal regions from Ogun state through to Cross river so we have multiple ports that can hosts big vessels then the country as a whole will benefit...and not the shady rubbish the country is running...

Port building business are now private sector led. The Lekki Deep Sea Port is PPP partnership between FG, LSG and Private Consortium. Waiting for the day FG will build port for other states is like share waste of time. What other states needs to do is create an enabling and investor friendly environment, win the trust of investors with some "pathfinder" projects. You also have to consider who will bear the humongous cost of dredging the waters......but the FG will not put money in such project in todays world.

Resource control, is complicated and will never fly, until there is a balance, where virtually all states have resources fully developed and commercialised. Oil is our main stay at the moment and government will not give that away, it's like giving the country away. The laws are clear. The Oil (as with everything under the ground) belongs to FG

Nigeria and Ghana share the gulf of guinea, it is possible for every country on that coast to have oil.
it is the same reason Angola has oil offshore.
what has Ghana got to do with Badagry?

Hopefully, the 13% derivation is put into good use in developing badagry.
And I pray may oilfields are found.... Another one, the Ogo oilfield larger than Aje is currently under prospect, still in the Dahomey basin..

Just google Ogo Oil discovery and Ogo Oilfield.

Your claims abt oil reserves in Ekiti and osun are not viable bro, their terrains (rx type) don't support your claims.

I am happy for Lagos state. And I hope the ogo fields also start pumping soon.
Semasir , it would interest you to know that the Ogo oil field was one of the largest crude oil discoveries of 2013.

Have a look here. A massive 775 Million barrels of oil in Ogo offshore Lagos.

Lontra oil and gas discovery – Angola – 900mmboe
Ogo oil and gas discovery – Nigeria – 775mmboe
Nene Marine oil and gas discovery – Congo Brazzaville - 700mmboe
Bay du Nord oil discovery – Canada – 450mmboe
Salamat gas discovery – Egypt – 500mmboe
B14/B17 gas discoveries – Malaysia – 850mmboe
Coronado oil discovery – US GoM – 550mmboe
Maximino oil discovery – Mexico GoM – 500mmboe
Agulha/Coral gas discoveries – Mozambique – 700mmboe each
Tangawizi gas discovery – Tanzania – 575mmboe

My bro, Badagry is about to experience a boom , if things are done right.

Will Lagos state now develop a spine and agitate for fiscal federalism or will they keep cowering to their slave masters?

Because some states like to handicap others.

It's very difficult to develop when you are handicapped by Islamic thinking.

Imagine what northern Nigeria would be like if they didn't have oil rents to steal?

So now you believe there's oil in Lagos? After you were blindly arguing sometimes ago.. SMH. Let me correct you once more. The Gulf of Guinea has nothing to do with that. Simply put, Coastal Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Togo and Ghana share the same sedimentary basin, the Dahomey Basin. Deposition varies greatly in the gulfs, but slightly homogenous in basins.

...and you think Oil will not give you that?

You need to be better educated in Oil and Gas business

My problem with oil is that we do not really control the price.

Then there is the fact that more and more countries are producing oil....including nations that used to be our major buyers.Which further lowers the price.

I am not a fan of oil. Innovation is the answer. Let us become a manufacturing society...so at least we can export stuff whose prices we can set.
