Firstly, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for making this forum as informative as possible. Most importantly, I would like to thank the dude that sent me the transcript, can't remember his name, thank you Sir.

As promised, please see my wife's transcript below. It was kind of a short interview so I don't think the transcript would be of much help. Her interview was held at Abuja VO this morning at 9am. I heard that an old woman came for interview dressed in their Chosen attire with a bible on her left hand. However, she was denied and she started telling the VO that the God of chosen, the God of my pastor will blahblahbh, Aww. That's sad

VO: Good Morning
Wifey: Good Morning
VO: Why are you going to USA
Wifey: For a Masters in ADR at the University of Denver. Before she could say the last R, he intercepted and said Alternative Dispute Resolution. E be like say na him major for school. lol
VO: When did you graduate and what did you study
Wifey: Graduated with an LLB in 2009 and went on for an LLM in 2012
VO: Have you been called to bar
Wifey: Yes, I have
VO: That's nice.
VO: Are you working
Wifey: Yes, I'm
VO: May I have your old passport
Wifey: She handed it to him and he cancelled her existing B1 Visa
VO: Your visa has been approved.

Nna eh, no document was looked at. I think the USA VO's look out for your communication skill and your ability to convince them that you will leave the country upon graduation. In our case, we were able to prove that because she has a 2yrs B1 visa and only visited the states twice and returned back to Nigeria.

Also, it's important to give short and cogent answers. Thanks guys.....
At this point, I will retire to the Canadian thread where I be Guru-Maharaji the 2nd. lol.

You chop goodies for here you wan come retire to Canada thread, Nna stop that thing o, odikwa very risky.

i was asked just two questions.... he asked and answered the third question for me. the thing usbi saw a lotbif people here with fake documents... most agents come here to get answers to their clients and they dont even know the harm they are doing. u thinnk the evudence on ties they asked her in my caae was previius travel history. no documents asked..

Do the normal thing friend. Once your interview is done..... it's done. You don't want us to wait for the next 3 days or so.

Visa approved today.
Here is my transcript :

vo: hi, good morning
me: good afternoon

vo: can i have your passport…and your i-20
me: ok, here they are
(vo types for few seconds)

vo: so, what are your studies plans?
me: i intend to go for my doctorate degree in physiology and neurobiology….this will expose me to in-depth research skills in liver physiology and research methodologies used in liver research like co-immunoprecipitation, polymerase chain reaction….so i will be joining prof.xxxx whom i met here in Nigeria last year, in his research…(cuts in gently)

vo; do you have a bachelors degree or masters..or you are going straight to phd?
me: I have a masters already

vo: where did you do your masters?
me: university of ibadan here in nigeria

vo: so, phd in physiology, right?
me: yes, physiology and….(cuts in)

Vo: what will this do for you?
me: it will expose me with strong research skills needed..by identifying important genes that determine susceptibility to hepatotoxicity.., i will be able to fulfil my career goals. and i have two major goals: to come back to Nigeria and take up a lecturing job in one of our public universities. secondly, i intend to, on the long run, collaborate with research institutes like the national biotechnology development agency…(gentle nods and cuts in gently)

vo: so, this prof you mentioned is prof…?
me: prof Bleep. I met him here in Nigeria during a conference..

vo: ok, prof Bleep (looking into his computer)

vo: can i have your..program..admission letter?
me: ok, here they are (and he studied intently for a while, flipping through the 3-paged attached documents- offer and 2 GAship letters)

me: (filled the ‘awkward’ silence) the revised GAship letter was sent to me upon the realization that i had a masters degree…so the only difference is just the figure of the amount

vo: ok…. you have a bachelors degree in ?
me: biochemistry

vo: so your biology must be very sound?
me; yes

vo: ok, what is mitosis?
me: it’s a biological occurrence that describes the division of cells. and the time taken for a complete cell cycle is 24 hrs…whereby a cell divides into 2 daughter cells and the multiplication goes on and on…

vo: what about meiosis?
me: just like mitosis, it describes the division of cells…(cuts in)

vo: alright. you know, not so many people know these things..i just wanted to be sure…

vo: how will you be paying for your studies?
me: i was awarded a graduate assistantship which covers full tuition waiver and offers a generous stipends. In addition, i am also in touch with my uncle who is willing to support.

vo: what does your uncle do?
me: he owns a business here in Nigeria and he imports and sells building construction materials. i have his statement here as proof

vo: alright. you will need this to pick up your visa. here is your i-20 and documents.
Me: Ok. Thanks

VO: From your i-20 (searched for the commencement date for about 5 seconds), you will not be permitted to enter the states before August since the start date is august 29.
Me: ok

Me; (elated that it was over) when will i pick up the visa?
vo: you will find the information on the sheet given to you.

me: ok. thank you
vo: alright. have a good day

Thanks to all everyone in the house for your immense contributions and counsel. You all made it happen.

And so, my tiny little advice for potential applicants: it's okay to be nervous but do your homework well and have a convincing reason for wanting to go to the US.

Walspring:
It's now a year exactly a year that I lost my very dear friend Opeyemi Fashola aka Gr8ever (May 20th, 2015) but exactly two years that you got your US student visa. (May 20th, 2014)

I am thinking about those days but at the same time I imagine how I go bitter for a whole day and how the struggling dictate, my brother we really set the pace and we all came in to scale through the big gate of SAT on 5th of October 2013 where I met you in person for the first time..

I must let the whole world know that I and others miss you and every moment we spent together especially on every first Saturday of the every month...

Rest in perfect peace

Now I see you in a better place (see you in a better)

In WIZ KHALIFA song.

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again.
We've come a long way from where we began, Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again
(Hey)
Now I see you in a better place (see you in a better)

You still don't know how painful this feels. This past feb 11, I lost my immediate and closest sister who I purposely went to visit and stayed with in Nigeria in December. Two days to my birthday, 10 days to her birthday and just after 2 weeks that we spoke last. Cause: Nothing was diagnosed until she went asystole. Words can't express the excruciating pain I felt and how negative I was to life. I remember driving while crying and ran red light while everyone was looking. I felt like my life should seize instantly. I went to talking to my psychology instructor in school but my emotion got the best of me...... I wept in the class. I will go to bed at 5pm, I won't eat anything but sweet. Still it's sad for me anytime I see her facebook page or listen to our past phone conversations or think about the short time we spent together when I went home.

Imagine someone you called sister, who you lived with, went to junior and senior school with, fought and laughed with, eaten with, spent more than 1/3 of your life with. Someone who you called every time and who's always be there for you, gone. Grieve is extremely painful, it's like an infection causing inflammation of mind (minditis). I still can't stop feeling this pain even as we speak. My positive view of life since then is that I've made it my passion to help others and prevent such sad story.

Take heart my friend.
