I dont have to give any reasons, come over to 042 and see for ur self. Comparing ibadan with enugu is more like comparing festac or lekki in lagos to New heaven enugu. The diff is clear, even to the blind.

It is an unorganised city with many ancient houses that looks like it wanna collapse, rusted zincs, dusty roads, and there are many slums in it.
Akure is even managable than ibadan.
Ibadan is popular mainly because it was the capital of the western region.

Well this is your tribal-skewed opinion though. it reeks with a deliberate attempt at making public, your bigotry. Aba is industrially better than Enugu, but infrastructure there is next to thrash. After the main federal road that runs through from bridge head and the private houses in town, what other infrastructure does Onitsha have to compare with say, Kaduna?

One wonders why some of you still cry marginalization if your cities were developed as you paint it.

My indices was based on human movement and economic activities. People emigrate where it's happening economically daily and if government didn't put in place infrastructures to contain the activities it might have sooner than later population explosion. Again, where there's better economic potentials, citizens tend to create infrastructural needs for their welfare like building houses, contributing to electricity supply, borehole, self help road maintenance and other social needs. But when you've a long flyover with the residents poor waiting for government to take care of every social amenities how then do you compare to a city that has more economic potentials?

I've traveled through Nigeria to make my narrative

****Your hype can only work on novices who never travel reach your end Even Onitsha and Awka (an emerging city) develop pass the entire Enugu state, quote me anywhere!

Enugu should be out of that list...remove enugu. I did my NYSC in Enugu, finished last year and i have the opportunity to tour round almost every where in the state, little or no infrastructure is found. Even the so called enugu city has nothing but i dont know. just remove enugu.
I took an interest in your post, since you said you did NYSC there, I believe you should be exposed. Most of the comments i read here clearly show that alot of people here don't travel or are clearly mischievous. I am only refering to enugu metropolis, why did you say it lags behind if you compare them with other cities you have visited. Like the op said, infrastructurally what are your reasons for the exclusion of enugu from the list. You can compare to any city you have visited. Possibly if I have not been to that city i will tell. But preferably i will want to compare it with

Owerri in the top 10? Tell me another story. On what criteria did this Op place Owerri in the top ten? Have he visited Owerri recently, or even at all? What infrastructure is he talking about? You do not judge or define infrastructural development in a State or City from mere pictures of artist impressions posted on social media or in newspapers but by actual physical visits to those cities to see things for yourself.

Well I don't have time for back and forth as Awka is a well planned laid out city with beautiful houses. Firstly you made a comment I confronted you with some pictures of different parts. Go on with whatever you believe it does not change what is on ground here.
I have been following your argument since, please drop it!!!
Comparing Awka with Ibadan is like comparing is like comparing Lamborghini Huracan with Innoson Jeep.
I wouldn't mind if you had compared Ibadan with Enugu, I wouldn't mind if you had compared Ibadan with Owerri, I wouldn't mind if you had compared Ibadan with Entire Abia state, but comparing Ibadan with Awka? lolzzzzz.
Where was Awka when Ibadan was created? come on!!!! Very soon some you guys will start uploading Obiano's Office as part of Awka.
One thing I know about Awka is that, they have good roads which is far better than any South eastern state

Yes that picture was taken from Top of Mapo hills which covers Aremo-Idi Ose, Ogunpa, Beere, Molete, Ooja-Oba (Kings Market) and Yemetu. It is a known fact that the colonial masters stayed in these parts of Ibadan and made Mapo Hall their headquarters. The King's Palace (Aafin Olubadan) is located beside the King's Market. That is early Ibadan which is closer to Ibadan Toll Gate of Lagos/Ibadan expressway which is what people see when they pass through. That is not up to a quarter of Ibadan. Youths need to learn and get some sense. There is University of Ibadan which is the first. What does that mean? It simply means Education and civilian have been around for a long time in Ibadan, there is FRIN,IITA,CRIN etc. Nigeria major Book publishers are based in Ibadan. Ibadan was the Capital of the Western Region during Awolowo's regime. All these millennium kids need to learn from history so they don't get misinformed. Like if you think I'm right. Share for others to learn.

Modified.

Established in 1967, it focuses on the agricultural and developmental needs of tropical countries, with several research stations spread across Africa. The Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), The Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, The National Root Crops Research Institute, and The Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), The Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, The Nigerian Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), all under the auspices of The Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria

Actually ibadan shouldn't be a City to be too proud of. I would not like to compare with any city as I was exceedly disappointed my first month in Ibadan. Ibadan has considerable large population with little to no govt presence. Unless you want to lie to yourself

Gerrarahere you dis Enugu village champion. The only developed part of your entire state no reach Ikeja in landmass. Quote me anywhere! Only one small area in the entire state is developed so get off your high horses jo. Enugu can't touch ibadan in overall development by a mile. We sabi how places like Abakpa, Ugbene, Obiagu, and all those your rural and dirty looking areas of your glorified ghetto Enugu look, dem even worse pass the old Ibadan settlements wey you dey run down. Thou you said your opinion, but it's good for your opinion to always have back up. You have to ask yourself which of these state have I travel to, or provide pics. Places like Owerri, ancient City of Ibadan, and KD on list can never be ahead of Delta and Anambra. Even Ogun is expected to be ahead of them. They are just being over hype on the media.

Are Delta, Anambra and Ogun cities?

Ode! Idadan is third city with highest slum after Lagos and Kano, that how big Ibadan is, city with three skyscrappers in middle of slum
The tallest building in Ibadan is 25 story building while the tallest in your state is 5 story building I think this says a lot.
Ibadan is a major city in Nigeria and the brown roof houses you see were built in the 50s, 60s and 70s when you people were still leaving in bushes. Up till date those brown roof houses have good roads linking them. Go to new areas in Ibadan and see what is on the ground.
