East west road that will open up the region - uncompleted

Coastal railway from Lagos to calabar - not touched (even though he built a railway from kaduna to abuja, after his disciples will be call some people Hausa slaves )

Unep report on ogoni clean up - nothing done or is it because it isn't In ijawland?

No airport in bayelsa his home state even though one of his mistress said she built airports all over Nigeria

What exactly did he do to deserve being called a hero in the Niger delta?

If those avenger are not to creation they should hold him responsible for the underdevelopment of the Niger delta because he had 6 years to turn things around there.

ur likes will still criticize him for being biased and sentimental for focusing on one region alone if he did all dat. u see?

May God bless you, cause only an ignorant person would refuse to ask questions about where all the monies that have been given to the authorities from the ND are. FG should be blamed, yes, but the rulers are authorities from that region cannot be exempted, Tompolo inclusive.

YoungExec:
1. Statutory Allocation
2. 13% Derivation
3. Ministry of Niger Delta Budgetary Allocation
4. Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Statutory Budgetary Allocation
5. Amnesty Windfall
6. Huge Pipeline Surveilance Contracts
7. International Oil Company (IOC) Host Community CSR

It's time to really start telling ourselves the truth. Political Leaders in the Niger Delta are as culpable as the Federal Govt.
Let us not quickly forgive and forget our own people who betrayed us. Let us not lose sense of history.
Chinua Achebe famously stated in one of his books that "a man who does not know where the rain began to beat him cannot say where he dried his body.”

It is alleged that Tomopolo was paid a very huge sum by the FG as compensation for the land used for the Maritime University and he paid only a tiny fraction to his community. If this is true, is it the FG that cheated the local community?

While we point a finger at the Federal Govt, let's not forget that the four remaining fingers are pointed back us and our leaders in the Niger Delta.

With all the so much noise about Gejj this GEJ that I ask what did he do for his people in 6 years he was president . If he is really a hero what exactly did he do for his people in The Niger delta or is willingly accepting defeat now development that qualifies him as a hero of Niger delta?

Do for his people? Which people? GEJ was President of Nigeria, not traditional ruler.

Those deceiving themselves by shouting GEJ's names to high heavens are not doing that because he did any meaningful thing for the Niger Deltans, not even his Otuoke people but they do that simply because they hate Buhari and his policies, especially his fight against corruption.

What has all the hausa man who have ruled both military and civilian for so long, done for the north. It's high time we left GEJ and focus on Buhari..we need to put pressure on Buhari to perform,he is the president now. Before we know it four to eight years will be up. Then we will be asking "what did Buhari do" when a new man is on d seat..we need to focus our energy on this present government..you don't get to see the US press saying what did bush do,but it's all about what obama is doin. They have already shifted their focus on the next president coming in this year, that's how countries grow..please let focus and criticise this present government or come next eight years we will be asking WHAT DID BUHARI DO?

PassingShot:

Typical of people cornered. I can't remember Yorubas worshipping OBJ while in office and out of office.

So, answer the question.

While I agree that Jonathan did nothing for the SS but even claimed that he deliberately left the SS untouched because he did not want to be viewed as being partial, I however disagree with the notion that Yorubas did not sing OBJ's praises. I agree that some very stubborn and assertive Yorubas like Tinubu, Akande, etc never praised OBJ but gave him nightmares; I remember vividly that a lot of Yorubas began to fondly call him Baba wa (meaning our father) after it appeared he was "dealing" with the North by imprisoning Al Mustapha who probably killed MKO even though his incarceration of the man did not have any effect on any road in Yorubaland. Even during the days when Atiku and OBJ were at daggers drawn most Yorubas were fully in support of OBJ and they tried to create the impression that Tinubu was a traitor for romancing with a Hausa man (not minding that Atiku was not really Hausa) who was against their Egbon (brother). Yorubas hatred for Atiku back then was not about anything on the PTDF funds misuse and third term which were the real seeds of discord, but about their brother's tenure being threatened by a disrespectful and insurbordinate "Hausa man" VP to his Yoruba boss. My greatest surprise was that even though OBJ did all he could to forestall a restructuring/SNC which Yorubas had been demanding since Abacha days, they still continued to hail OBJ as Baba. Though I will be dishonest if I don't add that despite the Odi carnage even my own SS too continued to hail OBJ as a patriot and detribalized Nigerian until OBJ and GEJ fell out with each other over GEJ's release of Al-Mustapha and also his second term bid.
I used to have many enemies in the SS for my stand against the accolades being showered on OBJ. They would accuse me of never seeing anything good in him. But today they even hate him more than me. It is all an irritating level of hypocrisy and very unfortunate.

The problem with the Niger deltans is they are never sincere with themselves...they were blinded by the "our son our son" tag and will never want to blame their son for their predicament... they want another son now to make their land Dubai...dont worry Buhari will try his best for u even with ur tribalistic behaviour...

Are you ready to listen to what he did? It is unfortunate to ask those questions. GEJ is a Hero anyday. First GEJ ruled Nigeria for 5 years 3 Months and never 6 years! Let me give a brief of what he did. The East west road was taken from nothing to over 85% completion. Many sections have been completed, check from Warri to Patani to Bayelsa; go to oron axis; He establishes two Federal Universities- University of Otuoke and Maritime University, Okerenkoko; he brought a Law school to Niger Delta situated in Yenegoa. He ensured that people no longer sleep on Benin-Ore road by giving it a major overhaul. He gave some of the critical Ministries to the Niger Delta people for real work and more empowerment; He ensured that Bayelsa was hooked on to the National Grid; he establishe a deep sea port and a dock yard in the Niger Delta; he empowered the youths by re-inforcing the Amnesty programme. He ensured that NDDC gets its allocation to work and so on; apart from the general things that affect all parts of Nigeria, like refurbishing the Airports. Compare this with OBJ that ruled 8 years or IBB that rule 8 years.
