lost Millions in this stock late last year..
can't touch that Oando even with a long spoon
As a rule, NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON ANY STOCK, BUT YOU CAN TAKE YOUR EYES AWAY FOR SOMETIME. I HAVE GAINED MORE THAN FOUR TIMES OF THE MONEY I PREVIOUSLY LOST IN OANDO.

I have to disagree with you a little. The fact that you lost millions on it means that some others made millions on it. OANDO is one of the textbook examples for a JIJO (jump in jump out) stock- if it rises, it must come down, if it comes down, it must rise again. You must not invest money you need urgently on it so that if things goes south, you either quickly jump out and lick your wounds or just wait for it to rise back up. The good thing about oando and some other stock is that it is always very liquid. As a rule, I do not go near illiquid stocks. What is the point if I put for example 2M on a stock whose daily sales is usually not more that 200k? what happens if I need to jump out? Na my only stock dem go sell that day?
For medium term strategists, I think OANDO is a bad idea, but for the long term strategists, I think it is very undervalued. People in 5-10 years will not believe that this stock was just above 3 naira this year. I know most people here are JIJO strategists, but stocks like these are good for people with long throat who have a high risk appetite, but also patience if thing does not go well in the immediate-term. It also means you should have access to money you can afford to leave alone for some time.
Declaration of interest: I have got my fingers burnt big time on oando, but then I have also made good profits both real and imaginary. Bought massively at <4 and 5naira. Waiting to bail out soon and reenter.

It is finished.

My brethren, please which platform do you guys use for your stock trading?

Does anyone here use MorganCapital's itrade? I havve a few questions:
Apart from the 0.25% brokerage fee, what are the other operating expenses like? I mean NSE,SEC etc charges
Does itrade has the Short Sell option? Can a user short sell equities?
How efficient is their "Stop Loss" button?
Please am only use to trading on NYSE and am hearing for the first time that i can place a sell order but it won't be executed due to "Full Bid" please how often does this occur in the NSE?v are there stocks more prone to that?

Thank you! They have absolutely no clue. I suspect it might be CSCS number. Sadly the bank won't even sign it without providing this special number.

it was the CSCS number that stalled the process with GTB, but the most annoying part was the piecemeal information from the bank staff. I had to abandon the process and will probably hand over the stamped forms to my broker to process

I think it is time for me to retire from JIJO for the year. I'm going back to my long term buy and hold strategy. I will be hunting for value stocks from now on. The adrenaline involved in JIJO is something else! God bless you JIJO masters!

Most of us here use Morgan iTrade. Yes, there are other charges like sec, nse, trade alert, cscs and stamp duty, depending on whether you're buying or selling. The iTrade does not have a Short Sell option, but you can call MorganCapital and ask if they offer Short Selling. Their stop-loss is the worst I have used. Sometimes you get stopped out before the price gets to your stop price. Regarding not being able to sell when the stock is on full bid, I'm not sure where you got that from. You should be able to sell when the stock is on bid.

Sir, i'm very sorry to hear this. The SEC rule has nothing to do with your delayed money. The broker should do whatever it takes to deposit or transfer your money to your account either by issuing a check or online transfer. At least one of it has to work for better customer service. In a nutshell, something is not right base on the concern you stated against your broker!

Sir thank you for your response the money was sent on Wednesday with what might be called sincere apologies. I am slowly but surely moving my investments to another broker grin
