.....@group....can a bad result from SKYE BANK affect the market the way OANDO did....?....
...or will it affect only the general trust in bank stocks(i.e banking sector alone).....or will it only affect SKYE BANK...?....

heard troubling news about Skye bank from mgt staff. (bank is seeking epp up & dan)
-results not good at all.
-need to raise capital
-Other options are bailout or any form of rescue
-dat over-priced takeover is chocking d bank

IMO: leave out of radar . .

do ur dd

Skye did not spend any money to acquire Mainstreet Bank. The shocking results the bank may churn out is as the result of bad management. In my opinion the Board of the Bank has to change. The assets of the company are being stripped left and right.

Why so much dumping on Uba
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ifeykay(m): 12:11pm On Jun 17, 2016
With the kind of volume am seeing, my level of optimism in the bull for NSE stocks is toning down. Why will UBA be selling as much as over 90mln units in the wake of an event BNSITL considers a buying moment. Two things are in my mind now, the repeat of post May 29 2015. After the election the bull took over. Post May 29 precisely first week of June the bear was everywhere. Could it be that after Monday investors will see the much clamored flexible FX as not what we hoped for? Secondly, the foreign investor may be doing their thanksgiving that the moment of exit has come. For me am playing Buffet today, I have become fearful while many of us are greedy.

IMO, I think there result will only affect there stock (Skye), and besides they are a marginal player. Serious banks have released there result since.

On the hand, Nigerian investors dont really punish public quoted companies for non performance. Bad result stock will start to go up...

Do your DD.

Sir, don't you think an adjustable shift in a country currency will directly lead to a shift in valuation of their market (stock/financial market)?

High Volume Sell-Off in Nigeria ETF
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/high-volume-sell-off-nigeria-200044430.html

chart here:
http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/nge/interactive-chart

From Monday, Naira priced bonds & stocks will drop massively in dollar terms, so for chaps holding the Nigeria ETF quoted in usd, its a time bomb about to happen on Monday. Once the trial period is over and people trust that the new system works . . $1 buys a lot more than before
IMO

the article seems ambigious but i think what they meant is that from monday, 1dolar will buy more stock, not neccessarily that equity will drop sharply in naira term. Any body who is selling now to re enter on monday are probably high networth people who can convert to dollar today and re enter next week at a bigger value.

Sir Lancee, there's no need to worry for now. The market still has a very long way to go in terms of upsides, its only requires patient. We are in a long ride grin
