I don't think your OTA update gat any issues. Someone or you might have unintentionally disabled notification for your contacts & dialer app.

A possible fix: go to settings> notifications & status bar> app notifications then click on "contacts & dialer". The toggles there should be able to get the call notifications appear again

Except that it comes with 32gb/3gb ram as against the note 3's 16gb/2gb ram. Although it still has 32gb/3gb ram option too.

I think you got it mixed up, the major difference between the two is the chipset & GPU. Redmi note 3 prime uses a MTK helio x10, while the Redmi note 3 use a snapdragon 650. All other hardware remain the same. The pro allows you to use either 2 SIM cards or a SIM & a memory card.

i bought it February and bank charged 320#/$1... Xaomi redmi note 3 does support external sd

Can you gave a lil bit of details to what transpired before the phone stopped powering on? There could be a lot of reasons why it's not coming on.

You must have flashed or upgraded with an incorrect file. You can't upgrade your device to miui 8 if it's not yet available for your device.

Provided you have a computer, you can head to the miui forums and follow the appropriate section in order to restore or factory restore your device yourself.

And the version of my mi4 was 64gigs internal memory I had lots of gifts with it including mi piston earpiece the black was 40k the white is 45k same with the mi5

Redmi rocks, got mine couple of weeks back. Note 3, 3Gig RAM and 32 Gig internal memory

I'll advise you register at the MIUI forum to easily get solutions to common problems & information about your device. That's the essence of the forum.
