I think they are fair, at least to F1 visa applicants.

I had to join Nairaland to post my transcript because I've been reading everything from part 2 and the amount of confidence I gained from reading and analyzing transcripts really helped me with my interview.
My interview was this morning. 9am appointment at Abuja consulate. My visa was approved and no documents were asked. The interview was quite short.

VO: Please come forward ma'am. I like your dress.
Me: *smiles* Thank you
VO: So you're going to UConn?
Me: That's correct
VO: What do you want to be in the future?
Me: I want to be a health management consultant. I understand that majority of the problems we face in our health sector in Nigeria is as a result of poor management...
VO: *cuts me off* Who's paying for this?
Me: My father
VO: What does he do?
Me: He's a recently retired manager in Bleep oil company, but he's on monthly pension which is the same as his salary.
VO: What oil company again?
Me: Bleep oil company
VO: Okay so do you have any siblings currently studying in the US
Me: *pauses for a second* Yes, I have a sister who's on F-1
VO: What exactly does she do right now?
Me: She's on OPT, working with Bleep
VO: Ma'am your visa has been approved. You'll need this to pick your passport.

Thank you guys so much and keep up the amazing work. smiley

Congrats...
I'll post my success story by this time next week by the special grace of God!

whew finally am here after so much reading from previous pages....I pray God grant each and everyone of us our visas. my i20 would land next week; my question is hope its not too late to start the whole visa processing process for FALL SESSION ?

Amen ooo

If you already have admission for fall is not too late to go to visa interview but if you haven't then it's already late to process for fall admission.

Kindly start application for spring admission

Hope they're not all that strict..
My interview is by 7:30am

Either strict or not strict, the truth of the matter is that all visa applicant interview are UNIQUE, just focus on your own

Because his/her interview was short doesn't mean that the next or other applicant interview will be short because all applicant interview are UNIQUE just as their profile too.

Can I fill my DS-190 and book appointment before paying visa fee and waiting for my I-20 to arrive.

Sure you can but make sure you get all the details on your i20 such as sevis number because you will need it to book appointment and fill ds160

The disadvantage is that if you didn't get your i20 before the interview date you will lose your visa fee or you cancel it three days before the interview and rebook again..

Bro, I will advise you wait for your I20 form to arrive before you do that. I know you are anxious to come over, but don't be too hasty, so that you don't end up making mistakes. That's my just 2 cent advice.

What I have noticed here recently is that the addition of some new folks changes the directions and goals of the thread from what it used to be in the begining. In fact many advise here now are questionable. These new folks give impression that embassy can void your visa after they see your transcript online. It's laughable to believe that a VO has your time to come here to compare your transcripts with that of many interviewee he attended to that day. I won't blame the new successful applicants so much after what they pass through to secure the visa, but sometimes they need to use their heads too, afterall they are coming as educated people.

@the newcomers,

once your visa is approved at the interview and your ds160 is straight, your visa will reach you, except you come from a very bad family and/or a bad home town.

It's sad to see you pulling an attitude you couldn't pull before your interview. Who are them you're referring to? Those that you learned from before your interview, right? Don't be like someone who deliberately breaks the only pot she ate dinner from. You will need more help than this by the time you get to US. You already said tomorrow or next and I believe you
which people are u talking about?cus I did same thing.voga na why me and u dey fightbbe did...

Can the school send the sevis number to me via email before forwarding the I-20 to me in order not to delay for the nearest available dates for appointment.
