Does it have a separate charger? Then just take it to computer village and show them the charger if u reside in Lagos. They will give u a charger that will work.
stinux:

Just buy step down with it. I have use Medela Pump In style with one in Nigeria and it worked perfectly well.

I had my baby at eastside medical center 4 days ago. You can call the hospital for them to give you a list of the obgyns affiliated with them and do your research. In the meantime, search for Gwinnett obgyn and st Theresas obgyn and follow up.

@phummy2 Congratulations to you on the arrival of your bundle of joy and many thanks for the info. My husband is currently in contact with St thersas and they seem not to be willing to give a doctor's correspondence following their discussion yesterday. This seems to be the only document we have left out as we have gotten all with a letter from our host. Could you please advice on how you went about yours. Congrats once more.

In the spirit of giving back grin grin grin and scare the crap outta some people, I present my POE experience.

Flew Etihad to Chicago.

I was already rejoicing the interview was over, but he dials a number and tells me he is sending me to immigration. embarassed
Secondary inspection:
Me: how are you
CBP: hi, what's the purpose of this trip
Me: Child birth and annual vacation
CBP: Do you have any correspondence with a doctor...
Me: Told her same thing I told the first guy
CBP: how much cash do you have..
Me: repeated same. I noticed she was just looking at me so I asked her if she wanted to see it and she said yes. I gave her the envelope and she counts the money. After counting she asked again how much I said it was and I answered. Na wa!
CBP: what cards do you have with you, I showed her my BOA card and she asks, oh you have a BOA account?
Me: Yea i do.
CBP: how much is on the card
Me: I hand her my account statement I printed out.
CBP: Do you not have any form of prove to show your communication with the hospital
Me: Yes I do and I hand her my correspondence and printed out OB delivery package...
CBP: Im going to let you in but be warned that although the hospital offered you this package, it is not their duty to enforce immigration laws. This statement (uninsured and under-insured) here refers to American citizens only and is funded by tax payers money. Please make sure you decline this offer and tell them you want to pay the full undiscounted price and have all your receipts else your visa would be cancelled
Me: ok.
CBP: Do you understand what I said
Me: Yes i do, thank you.

Had to wait an additional 20mins for agriculture...they threw away my ofada sauce cry cry
Thank God the CBP officer told you that. That was what I was telling the person who wanted to use the Oakhurst Medical Center which is a center that offers discounts for uninsured and underinsured people. Those packages are for US citizens and residents and not for people coming here to give birth. It's akin to taking Medicaid cos their (Medical center) services are being subsidized by taxpayers dollars.

Lemme not be the spoiler, but do mothers still go that far to El-paso anymore.
or u have any specific reasons for wanting to go there?
if you say cheap, i wonder how much you have in mind. if you give an estimated budget here of what u want to spend on medical and housing, am sure some mothers here can help you find a reasonable hospital and/or accommodation. Some ppl can share a 2 bedroom and u split the bill equally.

The last time i checked, took a while to book accommodation for my sis. Cos Niger mums have taken over.
And for the budget still very reasonable.

you can also consider trying it out.

Its long but its worth it for me and when the time comes,i might be going back there. Well for me I think all these discounted packages are for uninsured patients bcus if u 're to pay for d undiscounted price we should be talking of 18-20k sef, so for me even the oakbend and all d gbogboero are all ment for uninsured and under insured citizens. To d best of my knowledge o uninsured patient is simply a self pay patient. Just my thought though.

There are some that are government subsidised.. It's different from cash pay or self pay.
We generally look for cheap Hospitals. If we actually use other hospitals hmmmm

She was particular about the 'under insured' bit of the statement. Cos I remember her asking if I had insurance and I said no im self pay.
Now this is actually the only correspondence I have that says under insured..all my other correspondence from Texas and Chicago says its discounted cos its self pay. Does it mean that using the self pay option is accessing tax payers money?

Hello house! Here's to share my POE experience:
Left Heathrow London on Tuesday, flew Lufthansa. First leg was Frankfurt. I wasn't asked for fit to fly (apparently because it was a short flight.
At Frankfurt, one lady at check in was forming immigration officer(Lufthansa passed us on to condor airlines for 2nd leg) saying I have b1/b2 on my visa! It's not a medical visa lol. Hubby was fuming that which kain ode be dis. I just told her to make her enquiries and get back to me strolled away to find a seat. Next she called me asked for fit to fly (reading the info to someone on phone),even asked that should there be a medical emergency do I have money to pay them? undecided
The flight was about 8 hours 30 mins,my small madam didn't sleep until plane was about to land! Mschew
Fast forward to Baltimore airport
Waited in line for about 20 mins

CBP: Hello
Me: Hello handed he r our passports
Meanwhile there was another officer with her who for some reason thought I was hiding my belle(wey don dey touch ground btw)cos I was leaning against the counter, she came round to look and then went back into the cubicle and wrote something on paper to show the officer attending to us.
CBP: why are u in the US
Me: childbirth and vacation
Scanned our passports, asked the other gbeborun if she should stamp hubby and daughter in,she said no.
CBP: please walk with me
Started asking how much the flight went, how far along is my pregnancy if I rested on the plane etc
We got to sec inspection and sat down. After about 45 mins we were called
How long are you staying?
Told him
Where are u having the baby?
Inova Fairfax hospital
Any idea how much the cost?
Told him

How much do you have ?
Showed him hospital receipt, told him how much cash and money on the cards. All the while he was using biro to calculate on paper.
To me: what do you do , how much do you earn? Same to hubby
He stamped us in for 6 months( noticed he wrote the exit date in biro )
CBP: I must say you guys did your research quite well, cracked a joke or 2 I wasn't even listening any more!
Went to agriculture,nothing was seized.
Thanks to God and the wonderful people on this thread esp the moniker who hinted about baltimore POE
God bless our plans and make our own joy full.
Chilling at Maryland,my first appointment is on Monday.
PS: sorry for the long post

Very interesting.
someone will spend extra 70k flying to lagos and back and if you have no where to stay, hotel bill just to collect PTA.and if the person doesnt want to put it in a dorm account and it gets stolen by robbers what then..... these banks are not sensitive at all. Kai

its time travellers here share one or two tips or tricks they experience and how they resolved it. Am sure i could learn from others since traveling is an experience on its own
