Pls @ ladyguinive, thank you so much for the honest words. Actually its my husband that is sponsoring the trip, not me and i had 2 previous cs with complications in the last one. That is why i applied. pls can i still reapply. My health is involve. This will be my third cs. Kindly advice on that.
The CS should have been your reason for travel
To the US and you take along proof of why you want better care this time. (Doctor's report gbo gbo e)
Lots of people have been denied and gotten visas afyer they cleaned up their acts and reapplied. So the ball is in your court. Is it a risk worth taking? Are you willing to go back to Part 3 to jack transcripts?

Hi all, want to give back and so you dont make some mistakes i made too. lol

Gave birth at Northside hospital. i give God the glory. my obgyn was Dr dodder she was so encouraging during all the pain and accurately predicted my labour day which was obviously different from my due date. nice huh!

Hospital bill advance pay -3550 got additional 226 bill ( They didn't explain much but i guess i would prefer to reject the nursery and ask more questions next time)

Epidural - 3000 with 25% discount 2250 (Didn't expect to pay this much, if i knew it would come down to this i would have chopped the pain like that lol. North side anesthesiologist which is separate from the hospital

Obgyn- used North Atlanta Obgyn - charged 2200 and used my Nigerian lab test which you have to insist on

pediatrician- used Children's care pediatrics, Dr John M. Thomas- first and second visit at the hospital cost 115 after discounts. subsequent visits were made which are at your discretion and you pay for each visit.

infant ticket -363 united airline paid over the phone (paying at the airport may b cheaper)
Us passport -105 plus 60 expedited ( if you have almost 3 weeks b4 you leave, just use the normal route. dont pay for expedited) my brother got his in 2 weeks one day.

Naija passport is cheaper than getting a visa. its 77 plus 30 processing fee. if you want it same day you pay 65 more. There are agents at the embassy that charge 28 to help you make payment. also go with a prepaid postage envelope if you want it mailed to you so you dont ve to go back for pick up and keep the tracking numbers.

Hep b vaccine can b taken at birth or at the ped. pls ensure you get yours.

Thanks all. please google for phone numbers and safe delivery to other mums.signing out.

hmm, this makes me wonder, has northside increased thier epidural fee, i paid 1040 after discount , this was oct 2015 sha, and another mama her said she paid 2800, abi is there double dose of epidural, other recent atl northside mamas please share your recent experiences , passionantchica and anyone else

Dear LadyG, pls if one is applying for b2 visa, i thot its sufficient to show the VO ur doc's correspondence, burden of proof such as estimated budget, bank statement, strong ties e.g. my work, hubby and daughter and take along their pics, since i am travelling alone. Do i need record of my previous birth? cos i intend to just tell d VO that i want better healthcare for myself and baby, avoid the complications i had during my 1st pregnancy and didnt want to risk my life for the 2nd time. Do u think i need evidence of my previous birth? cos that will be a long thing for me now, how to get the doc's report and wat it shld contain. Pls ur advice.

A burden of proof is whatever one feels will convince a VO to grant you a visa. There is no exhaustive list of what to carry. I can't speak to the mind of a VO. I can't even g'tee the vo will look at the documents.
But my advice remains the same, too much is always better than too little. I mean if you have birthed in naija before and you and baby dey ok, don't you think you need a compelling reason to go the us now?

Thanks for the quick response. Are you suggesting that a previous bad birthing experience is not a cogent reason plus the subsequent complications after birth? Just thinking aloud so as to know the next step to take?

I went for my visa interview today and this is the outcome conversation btw me and visa officer. Pls kindly help me to review why i was denied visa
@firstmun, justwice and all.
Vo: good morning
Me: good morning
Vo: why are you going to usa?
Me: to have my baby there
Vo: which state?
Me: Chicago illinois
Vo: why chicago?
Me: my brother inlaw is a doctor at cook county hospital and he advice us to have our baby there.
Vo: what is your boujet for this trip?
Me: $12000
Vo: is this your first child?
Me: my third child
Vo: what do you do?
Me: am a business woman. interior design and decoration. I have staff that works for me
Vo: sorry the visa cannot be issue because of section 12(a)·usa law. And when i review the paper given to me ot says , u must have a strong tiles like schools, company and etc.
Where did you think i got it wrong? And can i reapply.? Advice is needed pls.

Hype your business. You made it sound like it's a hobby and cannot act as a tie to Naija. This is what I did. Say something like, "I run an interior decorating company that has a monthly turnover of xxxxxxx. I have an average of xx number of jobs per month with X number staff as the business has grown bigger than one person. (If you have a big client, mention the name). For the period you will be away, you will have to hire a temp staff to assist the one on ground."

You need to show you have strong ties to Najia. If DH will be sponsoring, mention at the end that DH will still be a major sponsor of the bills as he works in Bleep. Let the VO cut you short rather than giving short answers.

I believe that there are somethings that are key such as where you work, what you do, reason for your travel, etc. For such questions, it won't be out of place if you give more information than you ordinarily would do.

Simababe, don't worry. He won't forget your face especially with all the new channels of communication..Let me tell you a funny story that solidified my prayer point concerning sending me a helper for my kids. So on my last missionary journey, I made a couple of friends(preggy mums) who came with kids, one for vaginal delivery and one for planned CS. That's how we were gisting outside ooo and water just break for our front(CS mom)Thats how i carried 37week belle ooo and took care of the 2year old while she rushed to hospital.. The following morning, the one for vaginal delivery woke up and was contracting seriously, straight to hospital and dropped 16month old with me. My people wetin man go do.. I was not even concerned about the fact that i was taking care of the kids but the fact that these two deliveries were impromptu and one of the mums was not even expecting anyone to join them while the other was expecting a spouse the day before the supposed planned CS.. So mums who do this,God bless una ooo and give you the grace.. At the same time, think of it very well.We are all sentimentally attached to our kids but if you find genuine trusted help back in naija,by all means let them stay behind and if you have someone joining you, consider all the what ifs so they can join you soonest. 10-12 weeks of absence does not wash away maternal bond.. Your health is also important. Daddies God bless una for all the support but also remember that this birthing waka wey we dey go no be vacation oooo so if there is trusted help, don't just ask her wifey to just carry pikin and go because you think "afterall its vacation". Vacation is when we carry flat tummy and wear any choice of cloth round the world, eat and drink what we like, sleep well, go for shopping and still give you attention grin.
