I would be selfish if i dont post the transcript of my visa interview.
My interview was for 9.00 but i was eventually interview by a young lady at window 5 around past 10. The woman actually gave the guy before me a denial, but i just trusted God that i would not be denied. As the guy left and i was about stepping forward, the woman asked for permission to leave, and she left for about 5-7 minutes. I was just praying that i should not be redirected to the other VO guy at window six, who had been denying everybody visa (as far as i know). The woman eventually came back and this was how my interview went.
Me: Good Morning
VO: Morning
VO: Where are you going to in the US?
Me: I am going to Montana State University
VO: What do you want to go and do?
Me: I am going for a Masters in Mathematics at Montana State University
VO: What did you do in your bachelors degree?
Me: I had my bachelors degree in Mathematics
VO: What year did you finish school?
Me: 2012.
VO: Where do you work?
Me: I worked at a research company?
VO: What is your job description at the company?
Me: I carry out mathematical and statistical analysis for the firm, i train clients on the use of mathematical and statistical softwares, i interact with clients who come with their research work.
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: I am being sponsored by the University and the department. I got a full scholarship together with a GTA.
VO: (She made an expression of surprise on her face). What made you qualified for this scholarship?
Me: The school was impressed with my statement of purpose, my transcript and my GRE score. In addition, i also had a Skype interview with two professors in the department (i mentioned the names of the professors)
VO: What did you have in your GRE?
Me: I had 150 in verbal, 159 in quantitative and 4.0 in analytical writing. (She then asked me to pass my GRE score, which she looked at)
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to IIT, FIT, MSU and New Mexico Institute of Tech.
VO: What made you choose MSU?
Me: I chose the school because MSU offers a Mathematics programme that suits my career goals and research interest. You know, when you have the Lord by you, no need to shake. I woke by 4 today angry. Had 7:30 interview.we left by 5:30 and funny enough I didn't even think of the interview. I was admiring the island and the ocean and all. Even when we queued I was absorbed in my surroundings. Didn't think of the interview much.
I was on heels and from the whole queue and queue and all I was exhausted and vexed. I think the vexation added more confidence to me. Plus I kept singing the song "your grace is enough for me". (Ladies biko dun wear heel to your interview o)
Moving on....
The person that was interviewed before me in window 6 was rejected.

VO: Pass me your passport, sevis and i20
(I did and in my mind was like nawa o. no good morning)
VO: why this school (typing fast)
Me: Berea college is a highly ranked college in us. with good econs faculty. (I stopped)
VO:tell me about this course (I didn't rehearse Ds at all so I didn't HV an answer. But I rehearsed " wat will econs do for u" and quickly answered it)
Me : Economics is a course that will help me develop my analytical skills to work in multiple industries
VO: tell me courses requires in econs
Me: (didn't also rehearse for this sha) maths, eng, econs, commerce and other courses
VO: types furiously into computer
VO: how did u get this scholarship
Me: it is awarded to every admitted student in the school
VO: (laughing) wow I wish I got one of those
Mesadlaughing) (in my head, gimme visa lemme go)
VO: starts to bring a white paper and I smiled because God had done it. Keep your i20 well you will need it congrats. Pick ur passport at bla bla bla place. HV a nice day
Me: thank you
(Those in the queue before me standing at other windows waiting to be interviewed smiled and said congrats because we had been talking about how everyone was getting rejected. Especially by the man in window 3. So mean. So many drama.Even those phonerising (and they were many both male and female. See me with my yeye local accent and God still did it)
Its all God. Be confident. Look them eye to eye. Oyibo is a human. Rehearse (some people just dey bite their tongue)
Pray pray pray

I think he means that there are some answers that if you give, it leads to more questions you might not know the answers to and which may choke you.

Hello Peeps,

Please i want to find out if it is possible to book an emergency visa appointment with the US consulate here in Nigeria for student visa. I just got my i-20 form last Friday and my school expects me to report for orientation on August 9, 2016. The appointment dates available now are end of August or September which will be too late for me.

Please whoever knows how to book the emergency appointment should please put me through.

Thanks y'all.

Emergency booking is no longer available for F1 visa. It can only be done for those going for medical.
