Congrats bro. This is really good news. Pls i would like to know if there was a criteria for you to have certain amount in your account before the visa was granted. Secondly if your degree is a nigerian degree and finally what you scored in the skill sellect.

Hello bro. No such criteria for a Permanent Residency Visa 189 or 190. However some states require POF before nomination is given under visa 190.
I had a Nigerian degree but I also have an Australian bachelor's degree. Your Nigerian degree can be assessed as meeting up with Australian Qualifications framework. I scored 60points on skillselect.

KIKIADE:
Hello,
I need a little clarification on 190 visa. I understand it is 55 points and applicant will be awarded 5 points, if sponsor by a state or territory. The question is if I have 50 points already and I now decided to go for 190 visa, am I qualify for the programme. please, kindly explain this thing.

33- 39 years = 25

ENGLISH LANG ABILITY = 0
(S-53,W-69,R-57 AND L-65)

SKILLED EMPOLYMENT = 15
15 YEARS WORKING EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATION = 10

TOTAL =50

if I decided to go for 190 visa that require 55 points, and a state or region is ready to nominate me,am I going to add 5 points to it making 55 point?

OMOGENG:
No you don't qualify. You qualify for 489 tho. But try your best to get 190. Do your English test again.

In addition to the suggestion by OmogeNG for you to repeat the English test, you can go through REGIONAL Sponsorship, I think the subclass is 489. You'll get 10 points from that, but I learned its very difficult to get.

Thanks for your reply. Please i want to find out if any person with only a nigerian 1st and may be 2nd degree has gotten a positive assessment. As my husband and i have only nigerian degrees in Architecture and most people in this forum that has got a positve assessment all have foreign degrees attached to their nigerian degree.
Thanks for your response.

Hi Uzzi. On the contrary, I reckon most of the successful applicants in this forum got positive assessment using their 1st degrees from Nigeria, especially the Engineers. For architecture, am not aware. But I believe you'll get a positive response. Try it out Uzzi. You and hubby should write to the appropriate assessing authority. Send them an enquiry email and ask for their requirements. All d best

Hello @Bellong and @Ome240

Just to be sure, from the statement below, does it mean that IELTS written in 2013 is still valid as it falls "within 3 years before invited to apply".

Note: I have not been invited to apply.

Yes I did claim work experience points. My assessing authority gave me 8 years and above for work experience but whilst filling up my EOI, I indicated only 5years (10points). This is because 5years out of the 8years given is verifiable. One of the companies i worked for has moved from Nigeria. Didn't want to take chances.

Thanks bro for your reply

Sirs,
This thing is confusing, any attempt for me to rewrite the test make subclalss 190 useless. the subclass 190 needs 55 points, I ve 50 points already, if I go for the state nomination, I will get 5 points. if I rewrite the exam, the closest better result will give me 10 points then there will be no need to go for 190 visa!

If 489 will give 10points
and
190 will give 5 points
and I have 50 points
and the total points requirement for 190 is 55 points. author=catchdwind4rmkd post=47487380]

Sir,
I am still not clear with your response, If I do the test again and get 10 points, it is not reasonable to go for subclass 190 again. i will rather opt for 189,making 190 useless.

You can only go for 189 if your occupation is listed.

If 489 will give 10points
and
190 will give 5 points
and I have 50 points
and the total points requirement for 190 is 55 points.

Ok, let me simplify;

the total point needed for all subclass (189, 190 and 489) is 60 points minimum

The difference is that for 189, you must have the required minimum 60 points from all other sources without needing state or regional sponsorship. While for 190, if you're not able to get 60 points from other sources but managed to get 55 points, you can make up by using the extra 5 points from state sponsorship to get the required minimum 60 points (ie 55 + 5). Similarly, if you're only able to get 50 points (as in your case) which doesn't meet the 60 points requirement, then you'll need the additional 10 points from Regional Nomination to get the required 60 points (i.e. 50 + 10).

Please note, however, that 60 points is only a minimum and not the maximum point needed for the visa. Hence, it should be stressed that the higher your point, the better your chances of being invited to apply for the visa. As such, repeating the English test doesn't make any of the visa subclass "useless". It only increases your points, and consequently increases your chances.

Best wishes.

Maximum Respect!!!
The total point needed for all subclass (189, 190 and 489) is 60 points minimum. That is the point!
I need 55 to apply for 190 sub class.

Hello House,

Please when uploading documents for EA assessment, do I have to upload them individually for example BSc Transcript page 1, BSc Transcript page 2, BSc Transcript page 3 or I am to upload it as just one document - BSc Transcript?
Thank you.

No, CDR is to demonstrate your competence. You can use example from project, Internship etc that you have done.

This is where Engineer Australia is good compared to others who use only paid work experience.
Sorry bellong, just seeing your response. So assuming one of my CDRs is based on whatI currently do in my present job, you mean I don't need prove to them that I'mreally workingin thecoy as I claim, except I want to claim points fromit?

Employers' reference is needed for EA if any of the career episodes is based on employment; however, some people are able to write their CDR's fully based on projects done during undergraduate/graduate studies- this is permitted by EA. In such a case, no need to provide employer's reference.

OK, clearer now. Thank you

U dont really need to provide a reference for each career episode. I didnt use for one of mine. And i didnt use a reference I just used my employment letter.
Wow! this is cool, thank you. Asking for for such reference from employers actually sends a red flag

U need to find out the daily transaction limit for those banks u mentioned. Maybe the fees have exceeded it so it won't go. But GTB has a high daily transaction limit n thats what I used just has Humanshado has said.
So either u try that one or confirm from ur bank. also ask whats the exchange rate cos maybe u calculated with a lower rate n put that amount in ur account and so it won't go cos of insufficient funds.

Thanks for your contribution. The exchange rate now is AUD213 from what i was told from UBA. Most of the banks now limits their transaction to 150,000 naira.

Has anyone applied for PTE in Nigeria recently? I've been trying it for 2days now but payment has been declined with 4 different cards. These cards are all being used for ATM withdrawals and online payments.

My IELTS came out below my target of 8.0 across all bands: L 8.5 R 8.0 W 7.5 S 7.0
So, with the many feedback from test takers, I think I should switch sides, lol.

Anyone who has successfully registered for the PTE recently should please advise on how to overcome my challenge.
Cheers
