Our able captain, sorry about the flu.Thanks all mamas for sharing the info about your experiences about induction, I have learned one or two things but I m still curious about how long is the timing between when one is induced and delivery. Like mum Lucas @ Fortius said hers lasted for 35 minutes ,mine took about 6houurs before I delivered probably it was a failed induction? Pls I m sorry I m asking too much questions today.What's is the ideal timing between induction and delivery?

Fortius you wear it all the time 1 patch last like a week or so.

MY BIRTH STORY

I started feeling funny lower abdominal pain on Friday at about 3am, the pain comes and goes and i felt i had eaten something that does not agree with my system the day before hence the pain. I dozed of when i felt a little better but by 6am the pain became worse and it turned to contractions but in all of this i never believed i was in labour, infact i was yet to do my laundry not to talk of packing my bag as i had 2 more exams to write and was due for mat. leave on the 28th.

Hubby tried to convince me to go to the hospital but i refused and told him it is false labour as i was neither due(my EDD was November 17th) nor feeling pain in the back of my waist, we kept on like that till he finally convinced me to take a hot bath and let us go casually to the hospital to check what was wrong.

By 8am we left and got to the hospital by 8.35 or thereabout with just my card, on coming down from the car i could not move and i refused to be carried so i had to be pushed inside. Was checked and i was 10cm gone already, my saving grace was that my water was still intact, was transferred to the delivery room and they burst my water and asked me to push with the next contraction which i did and my princess arrived without a tear weighing 2.7

Got to the hospital by 8.35 and gave birth by 8.50am.Then began the race for pls we need pad, pampers bla bla bla and none was available
Hubby had to go to a baby shop and bought everything in the list afresh.

Teegali, thanks sis. I was induced for my 1st baby but monitoring was continuous. When dey noticed heart beat ws goin down, I ws given oxygen. Induction started around 9am, baby came by 5pm. I used epidural so don't av experience of wat d pain is like. Calm ur fears, if u re not convinced dat all will be well, go for elective cs.

If i remember correctly, the nurse told me its about 1cm an hour on the average....


I know say when she tell me amidst all the pain i do the mathematics see say i still get like 5 hours to go before i reach full dilation if things kept progressing as they were... and i had already done 5 hours with gas and air, pethidine was not an option due to baby's vitals......

Gud evening all, longest tym. So I went for a scan today nd the results read that my placenta is in antero fundal pls what does Dat mean? Sabi mama pls don't just read nd pass. Nd wat is the full meaning of BPD.

I was induced when I had my daughter and I didn't find it funny. That pitocin ehn They started around 9am or 10 am(can't remember), at first I wasn't feeling anything, was still gisting with hubby, they kept asking if I was feeling anything I said no, so they increased the dosage. Even then, I wasnt really feeling much, they adjusted it again. That was when drama started, the pain no be be here. All the while, there was a doctor and a nurse there monitoring our progress, checking baby's heartbeat from time to time. The doctor had a chart when she was recording everything, from the time they started, to the dosage of pitocin and our heartrates. At one point I started having non-stop contractions, I was screaming and begging my husband to tell them to do CS for me, it wasn't funny at all. It got to a stage where I couldnt even lie still enough for them to check baby's heart rate. Also, she pooped somewhere along the line cos she was stressed too.

Eventually I started feeling the urge to push and the main doctor came and told them to move me to the delivery room and told me not to push until I was told to, I was shouting 'please I'm not pushing, it's my body, I'm not pushing o, I can't control it. Then he checked me again and told me to start pushing. He told me the best way to push was to not make a sound, cos making a sound meant I wasn't putting enough pressure and just wasting time. So I obeyed and it worked, I pushed twice, they cut me and she was out at 3:33pm.

When she came out, she wasnt crying and I was so scared. I was just praying. She had swallowed meconium so they quickly cleared her airways and beat her, then she started crying, I was so relieved. She was 4kg on the dot and even looked bigger than that Lol.

As for me, I'm not letting anybody come near me with pitocin again if there is need to be induced! If they can't use another method of induction, then make I just do CS jejely.

Anterior placenta is nothing to worry about! You may not feel your baby kicks on time.

BPD is an ultra sound measurement reading to accurately date the gestational age.

Does your hubby know you still feel that way?

Tell your dh to elongate pre-intimacy to get you in the mood proper.

Erase the negative thoughts from your mind and visualize the beautiful baby you brought into this world.

You may seek counseling cos its a telltale sign of PPD(postpartum disorder) AND PTSD! (Post traumatic stress disorder) give yourself time you will heal and snap out of it soon! I pray you have an understanding hubby.

Mumgb just relax and follow your doctors order! Gestational diabetes is as its named! You dont have to be a sugar consumer to have it, ( though being overweight increases the risk of having it)

Happens when pregnant and it goes away immediately you deliver.

Though you stand a risk of having a very big baby so they may opt for a cs! Work close with your doctor and all will be well.
