Greetings everyone,
Please am interested in studying computer science (Undergraduate) in Germany. Have gone through the thread, and I must confess u guys are doing a great job, have gotten the skeletal structure of the whole procedure. Thanks

I have OND in computer science and have tried searching for schools, got a university in Ulm offering computer science and another university in Hamburg.

Have contacted the one in Ulm on Phone and was told they admit only for winter semester and application is currently closed.

My dilemma now is; the university in Ulm wants my documents assessed by studienkolleg, but the one in Hamburg uses Unii-assist, please I need more schools under studienkolleg or uniassist offering computer science at undergraduate level, I intend applying to as many schools as possible.

Thanks a lot

In other words, it is foolhardy to Base your admission quest on school rankings because as far as German public universities are concerned, they are all of high standard. I posted something once where a school was ranked as a "top school" because of the PhD programs but had not-too-impressive Master programs. These rankings are, for most of the time, meaningless.
Also I have not heard of anyone being denied a job offer based on the person's Alma mater; all other things being equal.

Last bullet: Follow curricula, not rankings...

Now that's what I call a positive feedback...Cool tho but I keep hearing that the city where one studies matter too... Thanks

@williamso, thanks for your contributions to this thread. Please can u drop like the schools that are among the tu9.i asked because I feel school reputation I'll be an added plus especially if one intends to stay back in Germany and look for professional job though am not relying solely on school rep.
Did you read my last post? If you did, did you pay attention to the last but one sentence? If either answer is 'No', please stop feeling and read the post. And come on! You can google "TU9"; it's only 3 characters angry angry undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

Please do not confuse yourself/us/yourself+us! Studienkolleg and Uni-assist are not similar at all!!! Studienkolleg does not assess documents. Ulm probably told you that your OND does not qualify you for a BSc, and that you have to go through Studienkolleg (don't ask me, google it), and frankly, Uni-assist will tell you same. OND does not qualify you for a BSc in Germany, except through Studienkolleg.

I honestly don't know. I think you should go with what you sent to the schools. Personally, I used my NECO for everything because there was a mistake on my WAEC and I didn't feel like swearing any affidavit.

TO APPLY TO ULM U NEED THE STUDIENKOLLEG AT HS KONSTANZ TO ISSUE U A CERTIFICATE OF CONFIRMATION TO STUDY IN THE STATE OF BADEN-WURTTEMBERG. THATS LIKE THIER UNIASSIST, THEY CERTIFY UR DOC AND DO THE GRADE CONVERSION THEN ISSUE A KIND OF VPD. THATS WHY THEY REFFERRED HIM THERE

gurus I hail ooo.
is true that the embassy don't accept current declaration of age unless it is back dated to like 2 or 3 years back?

I am going to the embassy with my birth certificate from Lagos state mainland and age declaration from high court just in case the embassy are demanding for the NPC birth certificate I will present the age declaration.
Is it true that the embassy won't accept age declaration of today?

I really don't want to miss any thing that will make me cancel my interview date.

thanks for your help.

the embassy will return ur originals with ur VISA. Don't expect ur originals after ur interview unless ur application is unsuccessful in which case ur whole documents will be returned to u including a rejection letter. This always happens within one week after interview.... I have replied ur pm tho

The thing is that I did my visa interview on May 17th, on June 10, I won PTDF overseas scholarship, so I need my original waec and Univ cert for documentation to claim my award, it's written on German embassy website that it takes 8weeks to process the visa stuff so my 8 weeks elapsed last week, don't they process the visa stuff without blocked acct funded? Or can't I receive my original documents without showing blocked acct funded and then provide evidence of funding to get my visa approved?

Good evening,
i got a mail from DB BANK that blocked account cannot be opened for me simply because am above 30 years. i contacted German embassy and i got a feedback that i should other options or open the account in any other bank.all my effort to open the blocked account in any other bank has proved abortive.
i did my interview 2nd of june, all my original credentials are still with them..
i have series of mail trail as regards this which the embassy kept replying that i should make use of the various means of prove of financial stay..meanwhile the only bank that intend to open an account for me, embassy said its not acceptable.
I have admission in 3 universities for M.SC program
is there anyone with this experience? how were you able to resolve this?
please, i need suggestions, solutions.
Time is flying!
