Thanks Expertman, 'SUFFERED SOME LOST' as in? (abeg gimme format biko). I didn't make any tuition payment and i just received my f120 abi na i-20 TODAY (it was on transit for almost a week) but i realized that i'm to pay 'one' $200 lyk dat, i only submitted my o'level result and popcy's statement of acct for notarization in the school (but the STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT was the KEY 'i tell ya'). Its community college of philadelphia (ccp) + they accept INSTALLMENTAL payments which make the payment flexible. The school is a good one (i have friends there)

I will advice u not to go with college 1-20.

since ur age would have passed community college stuff

Sorry about ur Visa denial, bro
According to ma own critique, no insults intended though.
1st- obviously from your past questions about "should I sign my I-20", I'm very sure u ain't confident enough in ur convo with d VO
2nd- I think u bleeped up in statement about "resigned because of ur app"... who does that
I think this reply may have tripped d VO off n tagged u as "unserious"
Pple don't quit work jz cos of US schools app, pple dt I know (Cutemorgan, texrem etal) quit dere job recently wen dere travel date is near

Hello Good people
I am sorry for posting my transcript late, I have been having problems logging in.
Visa was approved on July 13 in Lagos.
Don't let me bore you with unnecessary story.
Interviewed by the lady in window7
VO- pass me your documents( types), which courses will you be taking?
Me- I will be taking courses in environmental. Chemistry, instrumental analysis, data management, statistical thermodynamics, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.
VO- How many schools did you apply to?
Me- 4, Tennessee tech, university of Tennessee Knoxville, Michigan Tech and university of Rhode island and they all offered me admission.
VO- why Tennessee tech?
Me- I chose this school because their strong point is in environmental remediation which aligns with my interest. I will have the opportunity to work at the interdisciplinary centre for utilization of waste where I will have hands on experience about waste management, treatment of wastewater for reuse, removal of pollutants from the environment, etc.
VO- I will be approving your visa bla bla bla

I think Tennessee tech has the lowest ranking among the schools I applied to but I was able to tell the vo why I chose it. Would have gone to UTK though but their faculties are not into what I really wanna do.

Thanks to everyone here for the tutelage, God bless.
Special thanks to SirRiddy, GboyegaD and Lagosismyhome.
I wanted to give up but here I am today.
Stay positive.
Cheers.

Congrats oga. I feel honored each time I read my name on transcripts. May God make your soujourn prosperous.

Going from one BSC to another BSC is always difficult to convince VO especially when your work experience is then Teaching . There are shorter nursing program if u have a BSC that you dont need to start from 1st year again, making it even harder to sell .......

You need to connect the Dots (as in your past and future) and quickly because the interview can be less than 1 minute . I think when he said tell me everything about yourself .... At that point you should have said i graduated with BSC Microbiology but i have always loved Nursing and then start your selling of yourself and the nursing until the VO said ENOUGH .........

Instead of saying resigning you should have volunteered in a hospital, gaining work experience as you do your application and then say that instead

In addition to that, teaching itself is a huge hometie. The dude wasn't prepared enough to get the visa i suppose. And lots of info is on this forum.

How could he resign and at the same time apply for a visa? It means he'll not return to Nigeria thereafter.

Hello house, who used boss revolution recently to send money go Naija, they don't have agent in my state, so I had a chat with them, they said I can use my card.
Please i want to know how you did it.
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by Nobody: 6:22pm On Jul 19, 2016
I left employment 7 months before my visa interview. I stated same on my ds160 and was also asked about it during my interview.

@all, take generic advice you receive on NL carefully. We all have different circumstances. It's not one cap fits all.

By the way, my reason was because I wanted to concentrate on my graduate school plans. For me, that shows a serious and extremely focused prospective student. Possibly other factors were at play, but I desperately needed that mental space to deal with my grad school applications and probably more importantly, begin to immerse myself back into Chemistry after being out of it for 5 years.

Another of my former colleagues who is in University of Tulsa now, resigned 4months or so to his interview date.

To a visa officer the same action could look like someone with no ties to return
and thus a risk if absconding.
214b may be the result!

Please what's the route needed to be in a medical school in USA? Using the SAT and TOEFL? Will one have to go through a four year undergrad course before applying into the four year medical program? Or can one do A levels and enter 4year medical program directly? What steps are to be taken?

You have to study a four year program(pre-med) in biology, graduate with a good GPA then apply to a med school where you spend another 4years.
As for SAT and TOEFL, it's just a requirement to get into college. I will advice you write them, get a good score, you can get a scholarship.

Breaking News!!!
Glory be to GOD.
Visa approved today after a denial few years ago.
I was the second applicant the vo approved in my batch after refusing about 3 applicants.

Vo: good afternoon
Me: replied

vo: why this school?
Me: I'm interested in the student academics and career resources available at UM which integrate classroom experience with real world(*thanks to NL).

Vo cuts in...
What course will you be studying?

Me: Information Science with concentration in computer information systems(vo nods head)

Vo: Why this course?
Me: Well, because I want to have a career as an Information security specialist. a degree in this course will equip me with the expertise knowledge in data protection. I would be able to work in the telecoms industry upon my return to Nigeria.

vo: what have you been doing since you finished high school?
Me: i have obtained my National diploma in Computer science after which I got a job offer(vo raise head) to work as a web developer for about 10months... Currently I work as an IT support in blah blah... Telecoms.

Vo:Who is paying for this?
Me: My dad

Vo: what does he do?
Me: Replied

Vo separated my passport and confirmation page from my I-20.
I began to have that positive feeling.
Vo types for like 1min
Ok your visa has been approved. Make sure you have this(my I-20) on you while travelling.

Me: Alright, thank you.

If u have no employment that might be circumstances beyond your control..... aside from that does anyone really quit their job to focus on application when it can easily be multitasked . This whole process can be done weekend or in the evening

Quitting when the whole visa waka is not guaranteed.....hummmmmm

Well I guess that person is me. I'm not about to let the demands of a job get in the way of completing applications to 9 schools, chasing referees, chasing transcripts, drafting the best SoP I can, and relearning all the chemistry concepts I had forgotten over the years. I'm not going to let the demands of a job destroy my dreams of getting back into chemistry after being out of it for 5 years. I want to be that student that hits the ground running from day 1 in class.

I am glad it all worked out . There nothing like going for what u want and putting all your effort. ALL the best in your new journey

I know not all cap fits all but it just harder to sell that story. Especially not in this economy and for a journey not certain

Well, I thank God for his blessings. My family was very supportive and I had strategized about it for a year. I'm an all in or all out kind of person. I hate half measures or "managing" situations. I believe life is meant to be lived to the maximum.

Thank you.
