THANKS ALOT
cosxzbay:

Reapply again. Your profile is good and aside your confidence level, I think from your transcript you didn't mention why you chose MBA and how it fits your career path. Maybe because tthe VO didn't directly ask you, but your strategy next time is to chip it in immediately you are asked about what course you re going to study.
Please don't give up.

Wasn't feeling jittery in anyway because I've been there twice so going there the 3rd time gave me confidence.
zt:

I can imagine what how you feel. I am so sorry about that. It seems you answered your questions well.

You didn't tell us of your confidence level, remember it's key!!!

Abeg o! I have concerns booking my connecting flight. The arrival time at Dallas on my Qatar airways ticket is 1500 and I don't know if it's gmt or local Qatar time. I checked AA to book and I can see things like 7am, is this also Dallas local time? How should I calculate so I won't book with the wrong timing, I won't want to stay too long at the airport in Dallas.

Thanks!

Arrival time is always based on where u are....so in this case dallas at 3 pm is dallas local time ... American Airlines will also be at dallas local time if u are trying to book a flight leaving from dallas .

Arrival or departure time is based on the local time zone of that particular airport

Hello gurus in the house,
I'm in a state of depression and I feel disappointed in myself. I've applied for visa 3 times and been denied. The last appointment I had was on Saturday and after the appointment, I wept so bitterly. This was how the interview went:

ME: GOOD MORNING SIR
VO: GOOD MORNING

VO: WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
ME: I'M GOING TO UNI. OF BRIDGEPORT, CT

VO: WHY DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE US?
ME: I'M GOING TO THE US FOR FURTHER STUDIES PRECISELY TO PURSUE AN MBA DEGREE WITH AN OPTION IN ACCOUNTING.

VO: WHAT DID YOU STUDY IN THE UNIVERSITY?
ME: I STUDIED BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.

VO: WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?
ME: 2014

VO: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING EVER SINCE THEN?
ME: WELL, I WENT FOR A COMPULSORY ONE YEAR NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE AND AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE SERVICE I GOT A JOB WITH ACCESS BANK.

VO: WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ACCESS BANK?
ME: *I LISTED THE JOB TITLE AND ALL ITS FUNCTIONS*

VO: WHO'S SPONSORING YOU?
ME: MY FATHER

VO: WHAT DOES HE DO?
ME: HE'S A MANAGING PARTNER OF A CONSULTING FIRM (RENAISSANCEPLUX CONSULTING) THAT'S ALSO INTO AUDITING, REAL ESTATE MGT AND HUMAN RESOURCE.

THE NEXT WAS I'M SORRY YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE PROVE THAT YOU'VE STRONG TIES BACK HOME. I JUST BECAME WEAK AND DUMBFOUNDED.

PLS GURUS IN THE HOUSE, COME TO MY AID, BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. MY PROGRAM KICKS OFF 23RD AUG., 2016.

THANKS

With an option in accounting?
In my opinion, that indicates that there's a probably you wanted to pursue other educational plans which probably wasn't the primary purpose of your MBA
I stand to be corrected

Am good thanks. Though my school doesnt require GRE, I did it cos of others schools I applied to, but I didn't make the best out of it because of work time and the quality of material I used. I used Kaplan (Hard copy and soft copy) which i think is not the best of material to use except for the Analytical writing. But someone on this thread can give you materials if you ask. Can't remember the moniker, but @oludare01 might know the moniker.

Some of these boils down to personal choices...
1. Some sims dont work with our naija phones. Dont have d technical reason why this problem but i have heard of At&t sim not working but then u put lycramobile and it works. ..and vice versa
2. You can bring your old handset from naija...but if u need to buy a handset then paying small small in contract better than releasing that money one time in buying outright
3. Iphone or Android. ...no answer . This one na personal preference

In america to call and recieve no difference so u have to be aware of that. If u take a contract plan which states lets say 100 minutes then that applies to any calls in or out. Most contract will be unlimited minutes so that helps if u get that package ....contract package will work out cheaper than pay as u go.. ... lycramobile or At&T is popular these days as a cheap contract package but without phone. You can get AT&T monthly package of $25 or if u feel its too expensive u shop around. So all comes down to personal budget

If u homesick and need to call naija frequently. . Calling through rebtel is not bad. You can download on your phone and buy credit to call

Thanks so much for such a wonderful link, it indeed is supportively complementary with respect to the text book I have already

what's the school name? JH is gingering me to send in application. That I stand a chance for full sponsorship. Another school I just contacted even offered to invite me over to have a feel of their facility and meet with the faculty.....at my expense!!! make e no be my application fee them de find!
Both schools require GRE.... omo I am not just cut out for such now....will sure pass if I get on with it.
I have just downloaded enough GRE materials online tho. Expecting to get some feedbacks this week as I intend pushing out 2/3 application only next week. waiting on your response as per ur school name.....no time!!!

Hated everthing US when they denied me visa to attend OTC some years back. Applied from UK and was bounced at their London office. The chinko guy just messed me up for nothing. Was in the middle of my MSc then, on full scholarship and had no plan of stay in back in US but was told I had no ties. To marry when you are not ready na by force
I am seriously having a rethink......
