Visa fee (€60) depends on exchange rate...It was N21,500 last tuesday. And FedEx prepaid courier envelope is N750 and above.

Just have like 25k, you don't have to spend all though grin

Hello guys am new here

recently started considering germany after canada decided to take forever in responding to PGC visa applications and since the amount i wantd to spend dere wud earm me a MBA degree (about 7M naira) in Germany

just a few pointers needed pls.

does one get 18months work permit after a 1year masters study?
can one apply for Permanent residency during the 18months period and after how many years after PR can one apply for citizenship
After buying health insurance is one completely covered?

I am leaning towards applying to Schiller International University for my MBA. i have sent them an email as i finished with a 2.2 and mentioned my work experience and certifications all in IT. They have indicated that my work experience could be leverage for the academics insufficiency so i would be considered.

Is anyone here scholling in Heidelberg. Also if i wanted to travel with a child would it complicate things?is education free for minors?do hubbies get work permits?

they have a session for january which is when am looking to start.

No, you can't apply for permanent resident during the 18 months. You qualify for Permanent resident after staying 5 yrs in Germany and u qualify for d German passport after staying for 8 yrs.

But also note that ur years used studying qualify as half to your permanent resident status meaning when counting d no of years, if you used 5 (msc+ bsc) years to study it only counts as 2.5 years while full year counts only wen u start working full time after graduation or u stsrt phd as phd is recognized as a full time job if its the one u get a contract for. So if u do a 3 year phd, it counts as 3 yrs. Meaning in your case if u only do a 2 yr MSC, den u av only gotten 1 yr of d needed 5 yrs to qualify for PR. Your 18 month job hunting period will also count as 9 months towards your PR. Meaning In all by d time your 18 elapse u only av used 1 yr and 9 months towards PR.

I hope u get my explanation?

And as for health insurance, u pay monthly for it to remain covered for as long as u stay in Germany. Its a monthly payment thing that u must not default or u get a fine for each month u default

If you want to travel with a child, u can but ur block acct fee will be above 8700€ that a single fellow is required to pay. All education is free for everyone in Germany except kindergarten. As for hubbies and wifeys going with u, its possible and dey get a permit but u need to speak to d embassy on how to process the visa for all of u as d process is not sumtin I'm aware of

1. You may have to study in a course that takes more than a period of 12 months to complete before you can qualify for an after study work
permit.
2. You have 18 months to look for a job after your study is over, then you have to work for 2 years on a stretch after your studies to get a permanent resident. there is also another alternative to the German permanent resident, the Eu blue card/chip.
3. citizenship and the rest: the internet will help you with that.
4. In applications, its not about 2.2 or 3.3, its about your C.G.P.A, getting a 3.00/5.00 (naija grading system) or higher.
5. You can travel with your child and husband, (and your husband can work also) however, you must present another 8,600 for your husband
and at least half of that amount for your child. Sometimes, the amount is determined by the alien office ofthe city you are heading to.
6. You can also look for other schools that may provide cheaper MBA options in Germany.

All can pass except the palm oil , if the person can hide the bottle of oil in a way that they cannot see it then good but if they see it they will seize it. If the palm oil pass through Nigeria, no problem with it at German entry point

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by lewis1993: 6:51pm On Aug 08, 2016
I quietly disagree with your analysis of half year for study duration. In fact if you hold a German degree, you receive expedited consideration. Meaning you do not even have to stay for the required minimum years as for someone without a German degree. Please do your research very well as your post might be misleading. For the avoidance of doubt, section 18b of the Residence Act states that Section 18b "A foreigner who has successfully completed his or her studies at a state or state-recognised university or a comparable educational establishment in the federal territory shall be granted a settlement permit, if 1. he or she has held a residence title pursuant to Sections 18, 18a, 19a or 21 for two years, 2. he or she has a job commensurate with his or her degree, 3. he or she has paid compulsory or voluntary contributions into the statutory pension scheme for at least 24 months or furnishes evidence of an entitlement to comparable benefits from an insurance or pension scheme or from an insurance company, and 4. the requirements of Section 9 (2), sentence 1, nos. 2, and 4 to 9 are met; Section 9 (2), sentences 2 to 6 shall apply mutatis mutandis". After your graduation, working for just two years qualify you for a settlement permit!
nevilbot:

The bolded only applies for application for citizenship. Moreover, it depends on the Bundesland. The exact rule is "rechtmäßiger und gewöhnlicher Aufenthalt“, which roughly translates as habitual residence. Hamburg, Berlin and NRW considers the time as a student as a “rechtmäßiger und gewöhnlicher Aufenthalt” and I know for certain than Bayern does not. So, when applying for citizenship choose a state that favors the rule.

The rules are fast changing. As at 2016 only Bavaria and Saxony are yet to regard year of study as "rechtmäßiger und gewöhnlicher Aufenthalt“.
