Wrong. The SE is simply riding on the coat tails of the SS for relevance. Same coin my foot.

There's no doubt that Nigeria currently runs a mono economy, which is why you should either join the fight against militancy or shut your mouth about the economy.

If Buhari fails by 2019, I will be at the forefront of the campaign against him. What I will definitely NOT do is patronize ignorance and pretend he is the source of our economic challenges today, or act like he has a magic wand to perform miracles just a year into his government.

I don't expect you to build bridges with other regions either, Ibos are politically handicapped which is why your political destiny is now stamped on the ass cheeks of the Ijaws which you must continue to kiss for any political relevance.

My daily quota for engaging ipod yoots is now exhausted so you can save your response.

Just last year, I joined the many Nigerians who actually thought a dogged fourth time contestants woild be the best thing to happen should Jonathan be kicked. A year after, I have lost my voice around friends and family each time a political discourse comes up, most especially about the state of the economy.

Problems bothering on insecurity, power, state of the economy and corruption have all grown worse than it was under Goodluck Jonathan. Not like Jonathan would have been able to redeem the nation a second time though, and I would have still clearly voted against him if I had caught a glimpse of the anomalies ongoing before hand, but this time, I would have just given my vote to Kowa or Hope.

Without mincing words, Nigeria is presently on autopilot; President Buhari clearly has no idea on what should be done. The BBOG Buhari used as a tool during his campaign have been forgotten, more than ever Fulani herdsmen have been armed and fortified as they impact roads and streets with cow dung and horrible flies. The budget padding saga is still an issue to watch while daily corruption charges hover around the president and his minions.

Just a handful of the many APC faithfuls who are fast realizing that the Change we have is in reverse, it is worthy of note to clearly state that I have lost faith in the Buhari-led administration.

I sincerely hope Kowa would come out stronger with young, vibrant, intelligent and dynamic candidates in 2019.
STOP PLAYING THE OSTRICH! THE FACT IS THAT YOU PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO ACCEPT THAT YOU MADE THE WRONG CHOICE, IT WAS SO GLARING THE AVAILABLE CHOICE BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARKNESS, BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL, BETWEEN PROGRESS AND RETROGRESSION. BUT OUT OF HATRED AND CHEER STUPIDITY YOU PEOPLE OPT FOR A BITTERS PERSON THAT IS NURSING GRUDGE FOR ALL HIS EXISTENCE WITHOUT A COMMON SENSE OF HOW TO DRAW A LINE AND PUT A STOP TO TRIBAL AND ETHNIC SUPREMACIST! EVERYBODY IS SUFFERING THE CONSEQUENCE OF THE STUPIDITY OF THE 97 PERCENT. instead of you guys accepting that you made mistake, (you keep blackmail yourselves that JONATHAN was never a better option.) the more you try to assert this type of failed argument the more you guy sounds like a irresponsible! WITH THE PRESENT REALITY CAN YOU PLEASE POINT TO THE BETTER OPTION?

Okay, president Buhari "has no idea what to do", agreed. Now, my question is: kindly suggest one thing he could do to pull us out of the doldrums.

Recession of this nature where your reserve has been drastically depleted and your major forex earner has lost over 50%
of its value is most difficult to surmount.

If you wanna diversify, where do you get the money to do so (remember you need forex to import the equipment for this since they aren't produced locally)?? You wanna export more of your nearly useless forex earner so you can start taking steps towards diversification and some criminals literally make that impossible.

I'm glad you admitted Jonathan wasn't an option no matter what.
You clearly did not read what you posted...

I edited my post, you may wanna review your response.

Cast your mind back to what it was just weeks before handover!! There was no fuel anywhere, no electricity, banks were closing by 12noon because there was no electricity. Telecoms companies were unable to sustain their activities due to issues bordering on availability of gasoline/diesel to power their generators, etc!!

All these happening when crude was still being sold @ $70pb!! Now, it is being sold at just over half that price and people expect to see miracles happen!! Brother, it isn't that simple.

5 weeks before that there was fuel, electricity was better, banks were closing on time, and telecoms copanies were able to sustain their activities.

don't use a 4 week period to justify your points. the latter part of your post (about the previous govt not saving enough, cos they saved a bit actually, despite the oil windfall) already did justified your position. the part I quoted sounds like politicking.

The truth is, no matter how hard I try, I just don't see it working.

A colleague engaged me at the office two days ago. It was an intelligent engagement, though our discourse was political. He clearly hates Buhari and his policies but he voted for him!

What changed?
Corruption is not the only problem Nigeria is confronted with. We have many issues unattended to and the President is all after corrupt public officials like that's the answer to solving our economic anomaly. Dogara, the number 3 man, and Saraki, the number 2 man, are all roped with corruption charges at the moment. Nothing so far about the girls. Militants grow with each passing day, Fulani herdsmen are kings of the bushes, forests, streets and roads, Buratai, the COAS, has corruption allegations on his neck too. How about the common man?

I might be comfortable and doing well but would most Nigerians say the same? We never bargained for this. This isn't what we asked for. The only reason I'd vote APC in 2019 is IF Fashola is allowed to run. President Buhari is clearly not the answer we seek.

Every Nigerian needs to admit that he/she is a contributing factor in the debacle called Nigeria. When you burn suspects in the streets or you are an on looker, when you give policemen bribe, when you take bribe, when you litter and dump refuse indiscriminately, when you vote based of the garri, rice or salt someone gave you, etc, you are directly contributing to Nigeria being a failed state. All these problems did not just start today. It is a culmination of half a century of bad citizenry and bad leadership.

Stop trying to brainwash and delude the young man like you did before, we all know that APC colluded with some oil stateholders during that period to cause artificial fuel scarcity in order to discredit GEJ's govt and cause him to lose the election.
http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/177824-apc-behind-fuel-scarcity-plotting-sabotage-of-power-supply-jonathans-campaign.html

And stop altering the oil price at then in order to further delude him, the prices were lower then
http://www.cnbc.com/2016/03/30/oil-prices-fall-as-us-crude-stocks-hit-record-for-7th-successive-week.html
http://money.cnn.com/2015/04/15/investing/oil-price-high-2015/

And we all know that Governors, especially two APC governors pressured and threatened GEJ to disburse some funds from reserves, even while he tried to make a special fund called a sovereign wealth fund, so that it would not be easy for one to take from there.
http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/204809-pressured-squander-18bn-excess-crude-saving-jonathan.html

So stop all these baseless and beguiling assertions of yours. only the gullible will accede to your deceptive gambits.
You made 3 points, but they are all flawed

1. The fuel scarcity experienced before the handover of GEJ actually occurred AFTER Buhari/APC had already won the election. Does it make any sense that APC would sabotage fuel supply or power supply even after they had already won?

2. Price of oil as at May 2015 was actually about $65 (not $70); you are a bit right about oil price being lower, but 65/70 isn't a big difference.

3. The same people who accuse APC of blame game still turn around to say Amaechi and Fashola are the ones who forced GEJ to share ECA, such amusing hypocrisy. And one begins to wonder whether these same governors didnt also pressure OBJ and Yaradua (even with court cases) to share this same money. now let's assume GEJ yielded because he is a man of peace and due process, the fact remains that states only took their share of the money, they took what belonged to them while the FG still kept the bulk (over 52%) of the total ECA funds. Since we love these baseless blame games so much, kindly tell us, was it also these 2 APC governors that forced the FG to squander its own 52% share of the ECA funds?

You people should spare us all these unnecessary apologies and regrets because they show us that you people didn't pay adequate attention to history.

How could PMB, a narrow minded, poorly educated, bigoted, NEPA certificate - wielding, manage the complex economy of a multicultural Nigeria of TODAY? How? How?

As far as PMB is concerned, getting to Aso Rock is an END, not the means to an END. He can't give enough deafness to all these economic hardship and wailing. He's been a perennial failure. He's a perpetual disaster.

I hope we have learned our lessons? Maybe in 2019, all candidates will be forced to debate and tell us how they intend to take us to the Paradise.

But for anyone to have voted PMB thinking he was going to bring progress to our country was the biggest joke of the decade.

Simple solutions, reduce interest rates, reduce import duties on machineries, increase import duties on finished products. Offer tax holidays for people wanting to set up factories. The 'Government' doesn't need money for the country to work. Also, offer tax holidays to companies willing to embark on capital projects in the budget. Bottom line, this government is solving the problem the wrong way. Get businesses involved. Also, give offers to exporters such that the foreign exchange comes back to Nigeria.

You guys still don't get it nobody has lost faith in Buhari because the economy is bad we have lost faith because we have seen he lacks the wisdom and vision to lead any nation .. See an example below from my previous post

I stopped supporting Buhari not because the economy is bad or slow ..I did because I found out he lacks wisdom and vision required to steer any economy either one in boom or in a recession .. okay let me me give you an example if you are President of a Country that depends on oil from most of its revenue and Oil prices drop at a time when you haven't diversified the economy ..What would a wise president do ?

Ans: A wise president will know that to meet up the revenue deficit from low oil price you will have to improve out put and try expand your agreed quota by any means. (Just yesterday Saudi Arabia hit is record out of 10,650,000 million barrels a day like any wise leader would)

What will a visionless president do?

Answer : He will tense up the fragile peace in the Niger delta by first revoking a proposed university of Niger delta, he would order the EFCC to start investigating ex militants for corruption, he would then order the EFCC to declare Tompolo wanted and infact give him a deadline to turn himself in (who does that) without remembering that till recently Tompolo was in charge of pipelines surveillance for year so had good upstanding of how they work.

Another instance is in a country that has an employment and productivity deficit and depend on small 4 stroke Petrol Generators to drive most of the small businesses because of poor power supply ..what does Buhari do ? He orders the minister of power to increase the electricity tarrif by 50 percent and then goes ahead to increase petrol price by almost double . A wise president would increase petrol and maintain the electricity tariff as it is till the economy improves because increase both at the same time will increase the cost production by over 100 percent thereby driving a rapid inflation..

Bro I can go on and on ..Buhari lacks good decision making abilities infact if you give him the Swedish economy today he will destroy it in a year.

The bolded part of your message above is where I totally believed Buhari goofed; you do not use a sledge hammer to kill a fly that perches on your scrotum, not especially if you intend to have kids soon. Going after Tompolo and co. was a very silly move by this administration, there were countless other corrupt people the government could have gone after, not this particular fly perching on the scrotum.

The other parts of your message I do not agree; the increase in tariff was part of the power sector privatisation roadmap, it wasn't Buhari's making. Secondly, the increase in fuel price occasioned by the removal of subsidy and withdrawal of subsidised forex to importers was an inevitable evil considering the state of the nation. Could you have suggested a better option?
