It's always like that at first. The blacks are different but a time is coming that you would catch up with them at least. Even with this, don't try the Louisiana folks. Their English is slang, unclear, vague and short forms.

Welcome to US!
Hahaha. That's ghetto English and it sucks. cheesy

Yea. A Louisiana guy used to be my roommate when I was in grad school. This guy was terrible. For 1.5 year that we lived together, I always ask him to say it again. Only the LA folks not other blacks. They also have this modulated French called Creole.

Got a question for guys in school or that have admission....

When the schools say 'academic LOR', must the person be someone that has lectured you before? Or is one free to get from any other Prof or Dr not necessarily in one's school? I am asking because I finished BSc 10 years ago and all my lecturers are either demised or AWOL. But I have got other Profs from other schools happy and ready to give me LOR.

Exactly! Deep Jamaican also sucks. Was talking with a Nairalander whom pmmed me. Out of the blue, we got talking on phone, after 2 minutes, I was like where exactly are you from? Her English turned me off, she was speaking like a crackhead, so I had no choice than stop the conversation. undecided

But man, why do they speak like that? Isn't it lack of education?

According to the F1 visa rules students must work on campus and not off campus job.

Sometimes ago on this thread if I am not wrong some people said student can work off campus where other people said no and they both showed facts to justify their claims.

Although some students work off campus and there are reasons for that and they have authorization before they start off campus job.

Hey, I'm curious. This Louisiana guy's black English, is it the one they call Gullah or Geeche? The one spoken with a Caribbean accent sort of?

I have had a number of people make comments when they hear me talk. They say stuff like "you speak very well", "your english is good, where are you from?". I understand where those questions are coming from now.

You don't expect people to do all these things for you. Nobody will do that. Atleast you should do your search first, then if you get to a point you need key assistance den you can come here and get some info. naa waaooo.. Nobody be agent here, if you continue this way u will get urself entangled with one agent who will rip u of ur hard earned money

Millions are given admissions but denied visa so she wont be the first or the last.....admission doesn't automatically mean u must get visa.

Its at the discretion of the visa officer to determine if they give you visa or not so its out of the schools hand. A letter won't mean anything ....that she has been given admission is already evident in her i20 ......

what she needs to do is maybe post her transcript and see if others can give her feedback to learn and improve on
