Players that sold themselves in this olympics, Etebo, Imoh, Daniel, Ekong, Shehu.

Mikel is arguably the player of the tournamenrt.

To me, Azubuike is arguably the player of the tournament for his all action work rate. But i agree with u on Etebo, Imoh, Daniel, Ekong, & Shehu. Although, i always wonder why Shehu & Amusie kept overlapping when they basically lack the technique or finesse to either cross in, cut back, shoot accurately or dribble their way inside the box. They are thus creating unnecessary gap at the back. They did it in all our matches. Very poor full backs.

Got nervey at the end there.
The boys have done well for Nigeria and also very importantly for themselves.

In other News, any news from Niamey? My mind has been on that game all day.

Thanks for this info.

So sad.

I knew there was trouble when I heard d 1-0 win in Abuja was a keen contest.

What next is to fully utilise the pool of talents discovered from the 2013 & 2015 Eaglets. We can never b on top all the time.

The only players worth taking forward from this team are Daniel, Ekong, Azubuike, Etebo and Imoh.

Okay performance for the young man. He will go home with a lot to learn from this. Made a lot of mistakes but I feel as he grows and gets stronger, he will correct them.

I still do not understand why Daniel went down during the Free Kick that led to the goal.

It is good we won a medal but the coaching crew needs to learn a lot from this.

Nice show from Mikel. Imoh Ezekiel still has lots to learn too. Good performance from Ekong again. At least that tension is over.

We got a medal.

By the way, we can not call Sadiq Umar useless after he scored two.

Unfortunately, we may not see that happening because "the game politics is becoming a bugaboo".

Manchester City vs Steau Bucharest. Aguero missed 7 and scored three. I guess you want to tag him as useless.

My only concern is that no more thread for joseph1013 to open anymore till further notice now that there are no competitions for Nigeria to participate in except the world cup qualifiers.

With moments of the half remaining, he was presented with an opportunity he simply couldn’t miss—a close-range header Tim Krul had no chance with. He scored, and the ground erupted.

City went in at half-time on level terms. They barely deserved it, given Newcastle had dominated the early stages, but Aguero didn’t care. He was back among the goals and about to remind everyone of his brilliance in what turned out to be a second-half masterclass.

He scored a second soon after the break with a deflected effort, before a beautiful chip over Krul sealed his perfect hat-trick—left-foot, right-foot, header.

Dean Mouhtaropoulos/Getty Images
His fourth was arguably his best. He picked up the ball outside the area, dropped a shoulder to send Chancel Mbemba the wrong way, then drove the ball low into the bottom corner to Krul’s left. His fifth was a proper striker’s goal as he ghosted toward the back post and tapped home Kevin De Bruyne’s exceptional blind pass.

Five goals in 20 wonderful minutes—he took just nine touches of the ball during a period that had reduced Newcastle to a wreck. City won the game 6-1 and returned to the summit of the Premier League table.

It was a reminder to everyone that he is, without question, the best striker in the Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini made a bold statement about Sergio Agüero two weeks ago, insisting that the Manchester City forward was one of the "top five players in the world".

Perhaps it is the Argentine's low-key nature or his reluctance to place himself at the mercy of advertising executives and brand experts, but until Pellegrini raised the point, it is fair to suggest that most top-five lists would not have included the £34 million striker.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have long since planted their flags at the top of world football's hierarchy, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic has emerged as the next best thing recently at Paris St-Germain.

Four and five? Gareth Bale's price tag warrants his claims, with Franck Ribéry, Robin van Persie, Robert Lewandowski and Neymar all having their merits, but with Agüero continuing his incredible run in front of goal against CSKA Moscow, Pellegrini may have made a valid point about the 25-year-old.

Let me make it clear, I’ve got nothing against Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy and would not dispute their selection given the season they’ve had.

But I do find it staggering Aguero isn’t in there — and I think I know the reason why.

Vardy has been outstanding from the off and Kane is right up there.

Yet Aguero sandwiches them in the goalscoring chart, and while the other two have kicked off every league game, bar Vardy’s ban on Sunday, the Manchester City man hasn’t.

Does anyone seriously think that if he had not missed eight games, he wouldn't be clear at the top and City a lot closer than 12 points off the top?

When people talk of genuine world-class striking talent, Aguero’s name always gets a mention.
