So the govt should sit down and watch as these miscreants hold the country to ransome? They were given the chance to come to the table, but what did they do? They stepped up the bombing campaign and made boastful threats in twitter. Its only when they realised that Buhari was going to send in the army to obliterate them, they softened their stance. The window for dialogue and a peaceful resolution is still open but closing fast. I fear that if no headway is made on that front by weekend, we will have another war on our hands
Let other states hold Nig ransom na grin
So Nigerian survival is in their hands and Buhari is treating them this way rather than handling them with wisdom. Indeed cow is onboard.if I be them I go blow more oil wells.

You better keep quiet before they open probe against you.

Nigerians voted a general. Clearly the economy is not his strong suite, but he is an expert in war.
I am from Delta but I hold no sympathies to the militants because I think their methods are antiquated misguided and unbridled.

Delta boasts of highly intelligent people who can channel their grievances through appropriate channels: Pat Utomi, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Tony Elumelu, that noisy lawyer with big eyeballs ehen festus keyamo, Atuche, etc. This recourse to violence is an embarassment to me.

It is advisable that militancy should be wiped out by fire and blood!

All hail the King in the North!

Buhari can go ahead and bomb the Niger Delta people. He will win the battle, but Nigeria will loose the war as no drop of crude oil will be pumped out of Niger Delta for the development of any other part.

This is a guarantee.

We, Niger Deltans all over the country will fight for our lives, rights, children, land, freedom & future.

The Nigerian side will not find it easy to annihilate us on our terrain.

We are Niger Deltans, irrespective of ethnicity, we have a duty & that duty calls now;

The President should carpet Bomb the Niger Delta into submission.. angry

A lot of the iidiots here have zero clue what is happening down here. These Militatnts are not fighting for any right, they are just criminals looking for a free meal without working.

The situation is very beyond bad now.. Not even the poor Niger Delta village dweller is safe. People in the region live in fear daily. You work hard and make your money and you can't spend it here or live here because these same boys would kidnap you, extort you and kill you.

If people tell you the Horror stories going on in the Niger Delta, you will cringe. In Omoku, in the last 3 weeks, over 30 people have been killed. FACT!

The President should forget negotiations, it wouldn't work. You can't negotiate with criminals..

I support the full Militarization of the Niger Delta Area.. angry Late President Yaradua was a biitch for opening up this Amnesty fhuckery..

You don't have to agree with my opinion, but its mine nonetheless..
Before nkor?
You expect us the graduates and professional elites from the region to pick up arms?
What we have we have used in trying to preach justice to the region. Be honest, the FG will not listen.
I feel the criminals are not entirely wrong in their demands. The way i see it, both parties are bloody criminals here (FG/NDA).
Put them on a scale, the FG outweighs the NDA in criminality by a billion percent.
Like you said, this is my personal opinion and you need not even read it talk-less agree.

The task would have been easier if the police force is very effective to minimize collateral damange , the truth is the Army will effectively deal with them in the creek, but lots of innocent lives will be lost, I dont know how effective the government can fight the machineries employed my the militant, as you know in the days of Biafra, Ojukwu hired some foreign fighters, i sense the same things with the millitants, you need to be good with underwater survelance to effectively battle this people, also remember you will be putting the non niger delta at risk in that region, because if you start dealing with the militant, they will resort to vandalising properties of non niger delta in the region, as far as years 2001 there is large units of arms in that region, i remember there has been various communial clashes there and the large caches of arms is what is responsible for kidnapping, election violence , dreaded cultism and bank robbery in that region today, i must tell you life is very tough in that region because everything is very expensive, May God help us, the Northerners should surrender half of the oil wells to the people of the region, its their land, they are destroying this stuffs because they do not have much to lose, and they do not owns the oil well in their backyard! Most of the oil well belong to outsider, if it belong to them, they will protect it, i do not support millitancy but we should be considerate, also the lazy you in that region should learn to work hard

Wow.... I never knew sane northerners existed..This is commendable.
Col Umar has always been known to be sensible and upright man. I heard that he was initially approached by GEJ government to head INEC but he rejected the offer before GEJ now went for Jega.

At the topic, Sanusi recently asked who are PMB's economic advisers?

I think its time well meaning sensible Nigerians starts asking who are the people giving PMB all the bad advices that have destroyed our economy and about to bring us to an avoidable war.

If your state had oil and the Niger delta had none, would you share? The none oil producing get states need to bring something to the table!
Instead of you people to put pressure on your state government to diversify , you focus all your attention on ND oil... smh

You are saying rubbish.

Jonathan had the power to revoke oil licences and give SS people. However, they lack competencies and are not educated.
Jonathan could have built schools, but they dont want to go to school.

I know of several construction projects in SS that the community boys did not allow the workers do (first hand account). If a construction company doesnt take soldiers they cant build anything. If the construction company decides to use SS community boys as labourers they wont work and must get paid or they scatter the whole site.

If you build your personal house in warri community boys will beat your foreman and different sets will collect money everyday till you complete it. You will end up using 40m to build a 20m house.

Look those guys are their own problem, so let Buhari kuku kill all of them. I would like to go for a weekend in warri to check out the babes in peace and security. I would like to be able to club in warri till 3am like i do in lagos. That is development. Not this amnesty crap and enriching f*cking asari dokubo and tompolo to build uni in cotonou.

N*gga f*ck that. You can take horse to the stream but u cant force it to drink water eeeyy

Failure to use deadly force after negotiations fails would not only set an unwanted precedence but it would mean the word "NIGERIA" means nothing! No group or tribe has the right to hold an entire nation ransom due to perceived grievances. If they feel cheated, let them pursue legal means. Let them also call out their leaders at the State and Local levels, those leaders need to account for the allocations and what they did with it. I'm talking about both past and present leaders. It's easy to blame the FG when the real culprits are the gluttonous leaders of the Niger-Delta region. I feel no sympathy for militants who have been brainwashed to think they deserve 50% of the National budget, ridiculous!

Thank you my brother for teaching those kids about the consequences of Military actions in the Niger delta. It is Nigerians that will suffer the dire consequences. The Niger delta people may even get the sympathy and support of world powers who will prefer the option of securing Niger delta from Nigeria assault. It is easy to ignite a fire than putting it out.

Gettaway you! I am from Delta so it is my oil too.

But im not stupid like you, all delta governors present and past, all SS leaders, all SS politicians alike.

If Delta cannot diversify outside oil + the oil then I make bold to say that the leaders should step aside for me and see what i can do.

Look at California, the 6th largest economy in the world: oil + silicon valley + hollywood + agriculture + stanford university. Delta has everything california has, delta should be richer than the whole of africa combined. But idiots abound, idiots like you.
