All the economic theories sanusi was talking yesterday just went out of the window.
Economist can talk cost theories and rub their bellies.
Presidents must consider the social cost of such theories.
For Nigeria, there are no benefits to devaluation especially as the country exports nothing.
Everything moves with dollars in Nigeria. Everything.
We may as well change our currency to dollars.
In liberation economics, you carry yourself by yourself .

U see, I talk am news flash Nigerians not only fuel will be increased, even kero and diesel will be increased again, get ready for fuel @190. This government is vision less and short sighted. FG pegged price of Pms at 145 after it was concluded that marketers would get dollar at 350 in the black market and today less than six months later dollar is 425, where do you expect marketers to get dollar for 350? FG is playing football with the masses instead of directing our resources to fixing our refineries to work at optimum capacity, dialogue with militants for a favorable business climate so that more crude oil will be exported and more dollar will be available in the country, he preferes war in Niger delta (Where Nigeria is eating from. In Patients Johnathans voice "CHAII!!" embarassed ) and spending billions of dollars in search of oil in the north. And a sane person will point at GEJ when we can see the havoc this dictator is doing before our very own eyes.
What resources??

See your life, if the last increase did not solve our problem what makes you think that increasing it again will do the magic? You guys should quit believing all these lies from this government and judge them by the current living standard from an average Nigerian. They don't have to die for the economy to live. There are many ways to pull Nigeria out of her current mess, but those in authority seem to be in pursuit of the shadow. Buhari and his economic team need to wake up from this deep slumber.

YOU PEOPLE JUST LIKE GIVING YOURSELVES HEART ATTACK

WHILE MANY FILLING STATIONS ARE REDUCING THEIR PUMP PRICES TO BETWEEN 138 TO 140, YOU ARE DREAMING OF PRICE INCREASE

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOW ON PRICE MODULATION.

NO MORE PRICE INCREASE AGAIN

ANYWAY WE KNOW THOSE BEHIND THIS THREAD
Make I clear your eye small, three factors contributed to drop of prices to 140 142.

When marketers buy Pms in depots for example they usually sell of to filling station owners making it easier for them to get the product and make profits as well. But today markets in depots aren't interested because loading Pms in depot to sell equals to loss so you the filling station owner will have to load it yourself hence you bear loading expenses and trucking cost.
Stiff competition goes in play and the filling station owner has to reduce price further and depend on turn over, you won't believe they are competing for 30k per truck profit.
Then importers as well have to find ways to minimise expenses to import Pms at a cheap price so as to sell cheaper.
But the problem now is it's not sustainable! Current exchange rate, loading expenses, cost of running a filing station with a 30k profit it's no longer funny. The prices we see at 145 now are as a result of massive products in tanks from previous imports. Now these markets can no longer sustain it so if government doesn't increase prices we will be back to long fuel queues in filling stations in no time.

in addition to what you pointed out is that NNPC is the major importer of fuel & it has access to FX at favourably concessionary rates since it can source from government coffers & use revenue generated from export.

however, it is becoming unsustainable especially as it has had to import kerosene too thereby stretching its FX.

also, there is still a lot of sleaze going on in the sector...

Wetin happen to those station selling below 140. Did these people know that their govt is the worst so far with their unreasonable and unrealistic promised they made and the hardship they introduced.. They still want to increase the petrol pump price. Heartless people.
I think it is high time there will be a bill that will place our leader on probation and cast vote of confidence on each one of them which will determine if they will remain in that office or not.
If there's such the whole nation or 70% will be glad to vote this government out.

There is no need saying anything,it is already settled and what is needed is just for pmb to give the go ahead, most likely it will be done before Oct 1 or the first week of October. So start saving more money for fuel and transportation.
