I've seen concrete mixer trucks in Lagos and I've seen it used on one of the Nairalnad builds. For such a large quantity of concrete, why aren't concrete mixer trucks used over manual mixing and dumping?

I imagine there would be significant benefits in filling the forms in a few hours than filling it in a day or two - efficiency, better quality monolithic concrete pour. I don't know their cost so that may be the reason why its not widely used.

The cost of Concrete from Mixer Trucks is more than that of the manual ones. The advantage over Manual Labour mix is Speed. Its way faster for sure. So as a result where its advantage can be significant is if you have a lager size of concrete requirement and little time to complete concrete cast, then you can opt for mixers. except you have money to show off.

The manual mixer is faster? I would have thought the truck is.

I mean it has a speed advantage over manual labour mix. Meaning its faster than manual labour mix.

We are working towards casting dpc on Saturday. So after filling, you can reinforce and cast immediately

There was no need for soil Test done because it's a storey building and we could assume the land was solid enough from the surrounding. Also the estate have okayed the land for construction. Soil Test is required when you have above 2 floors in such an area.

There was no need for soil Test done because it's a storey building and the estate have okayed the land for construction in a memo that contains the building codes. According to the estate documents, Soil Test is required when you have above 2 floors.

Never will I be involved in a leaking Pipe. Not after the all my years of renovation.

Now that you are ready for casting, is there any test that is conducted to confirm that none of the pipes are leaking? Something like a leak detection test?

There is no need doing a Leak Test on the pipes run. Its as simple as just Pouring water and ensuring it links out.

This is it. Pipes that require more technical Leak Test is the pressure/Supply Pipes. Waste pipe never have water on them except when you flush. or waste water. This is unlike the supply pipes that have water constantly waiting to be released. Whats important when installing waste and soil pipes is to ensure you use the Thickest and more solid version, seal properly, and Ensure when your pour water it drains out via its outlet.

We are using the wood we have on site, no need buy new boards. Which is some pieces of Marine Board and some pieces of 1 x 12 wood. Not necessarily one particular material. What is important is that the wood gives us our straight Deck. Even if not smooth because at the end we'll use suspended Ceilings/POP to cover it up. The reason why we couldn't Run away from using Marine board for the raft is because we can be sure of our building been Properly Square on all Corners and Straight.

Are you going to use suspended ceiling/POP everywhere? I think it is better to have a smooth surface. You may be able to achieve that by laying membrane on the deck formwork.
