ukay2: Noticed some stocks don't apply withholding tax on dividend payments e.g Flour Mills, Nestle. Any reasons for that? |

Pls is their any charges on edividend either from banks or NIBSS, if there's any on what percentage is it? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmasoft(m): 10:33pm On Sep 14, 2016 |
Dividend will not be taxed if it's paid from retained earnings ie profit that was already taxed as at the time it was declared e.g Flour mill. Same goes for companies that are undergoing serious expansion/capital intensive projects and as a way of incentive the authorities in charge will give the company some tax holiday e.g Nestle 4 Likes |

daemperor1: I agree but we've also seen stocks with good result rally and bad result dip, which we believe should be. the truth is that most stocks are trading low for reasons which we know and don't also know. there must be a seller and a buyer to have a successful transaction. there are many reasons why one might decide to sell even @ a loss but some people will look @ it at a deliberate or stupid act. how much do you think those that sold fbnh @#2.8-#3 bought it?it's not deliberately to bring fbnh price down, their is a reason. thanks bro 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sirflav: 9:31am On Sep 15, 2016 |
Mfunkynation: sir any amount you have in dollars is multiplied by the current exchange rate ie $0.39 x N423 |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 9:36am On Sep 15, 2016 |
sirflav: Pls try to answer what you know very well.........your answer is wrong.......$0.39 is not up to $1 and $1 is equal to N423 as you supposed........pls calculate well and repost for my guy to understand well.tnx |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sirflav: 9:43am On Sep 15, 2016 |

sirflav:Thanks!is it possible to cash dividend warrant in $into naira saving accts? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sirflav: 10:00am On Sep 15, 2016 |
Mfunkynation:sir you mean to bank dividend warrant in dollars into naira saving accts Firstly I have never paid any dividend warrant into savings account it has always been current I think your bank will credit your current account in naira but will buy the dollar at their own rate not N423 |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by OptimistGenius: 10:08am On Sep 15, 2016 |
Mfunkynation: I don't know if it's possible. You may need to contact your bank. But if it is then you will have to forget about any exchange rate even close to 400 per $. That is blackmarket rate. Your bank will do the conversion for you at official price which is currently around 325. They'll want to give some room for their own profit on the matter so the rate they'll offer you will likely be lower than 325. |
