Dear NL family. Please permit me to share the testimony of my sis that arrived in elpaso texas in the early hours of today.
She flew BA to Dallas and connected AA to elpaso.

she arrived LHR and before checking in for her Dallas flight, she was questioned for her purpose of travelling which she told them she was going to have her baby in the US and they requested for doctors correspondences which she showed them.

when she arrived Dallas;

after greeting,
Cbp - what brings you here
sis - child birth
cbp - how long will you be staying
sis - 6weeks
cbp - how much do you have
sis - above 10k
cbp- you will be directed to cash declaration and stamped her in for 6months.

@ declaration place (her time was wasted);

she was been attended to by 2 people she believed to be mexican-american
started the questioning all over again.....
went back to her previous visit to Tennessee in 2014 about where she had her 1st baby, how much she paid then and why she is paying less now.
and she requested giving them doctors correspondences which they said No to.
The CBPs started chatting between themselves but she was eaves-dropping
they talked how africans are coming to take over america and send them out soon and they need to find somewhere better to go.....

after the chatting they decided to give her the declaration form which she filled and submitted

to agriculture where they seized her indomie chicken onion and rice.

her 4hrs layover to elpaso was reduced to 1hr after the delay at cash declaration.
arrived elpaso safely and still resting........

thank you all for your tremendous contributions. God bless you all.

Thanks dear @Niksie I transfered the money directly to their bank account. Travelex abuja is in a skye bank so it makes life easy. Plus you don't need a boarding pass and all
Thanks dear...this is better but without boarding pass, how do they confirm that you are travelling.

Beat their maids
Is that even possible
Ok, perhaps its possible, especially for those who keep underage girls as maids...

I can't imagine beating up a 21+ year old girl... Or even an underage girl too for that matter...

For those of us using people as punching bags/ WWF practice, PLEASE DESIST Oh... Their own mums grew them from scratch too undecided lipsrsealed
Afterall, if not for hard times, who wants to go serving people in their houses?

Here in the US, such help is so scarce, and if you make "fim" with anybody's head, you will hear "nwii" from the government.. They will dash you SILVER BRACELET (handcuffs) first even before you begin to explain how she provoked you... grin

elfmann:

Don't mind them. All they shout here is DH DH. Most abuse their husbands verbally and emotionally. Oh only physical abuse is important and condemnable.

Nigerian women hate being beaten by their husbands or any man, but take joy in beating their maids! That is where men learn it.

After all living in fear is worse than in shame.

Good evening everyone

Thank you for the info provided on this platform. I have gone through all the pages however i need a litttle clarification

I have a USA visa that i got when i was 16 weeks pregnant in June A visitors visa. I am due in December (40 weeks). No one asked me about pregnancy and i did not say anything either. I have a Dr, and sufficient proof of funds. I would like to travel next month (oct)

My question is that

Should i send a letter of intent to the embassy now?

If i dont send a letter, meaning i will wait for the POE questions.... How should i handle myself?

I have been to the USA 3 times on holidays and the POE has been a breeze

Thanks

Okay, good. You weren't asked pregnancy related questions, not bad. But then, what was the purpose of obtaining the visa, has it been used for that? Letter of change of intent oh, go to POE direct oh, there will be issues if you haven't used the visa for the purpose for which it was issued. But you have been following this thread Na, abi? This your style is strongly discouraged and frowned at, really!

My wife had a baby at oakbend in July with Dr E.
We called US Anesthesia partners over & over for Epidural bill but they kept saying that they don't have her records.
Yolanda's number then was giving an 'out-of-office response'

Finally they came up with an account number for her in August and posted a bill of $3,800 in September.
From several posts here. Epidural in July at oakbend was $950.

Please does anyone have a number I can call to get this sorted out and pay the right amount?

Thanks

Good day Nairalanders. Please permit me to share my interview transcript.
DW and I went for interview in may and was denied for the usual no sufficient tie. We applied again separately now with two weeks interval.
VO : Good morning, can I have your passport
DW: She hands over her passport
VO : Why are you going to the US
DW: To have my baby
VO: Do you already have a Dr ?
DW: Yes and she hands over the correspondence to her
In between she stated typing while one of her colleagues was asking her some question, infact they guy was distracting her and DW was busy praying for favour
VO: will your husband be going with you
DW: He has not decided because of his job schedule. But he is the one sponsoring my trip.
VO: Congratulations, your Visa has been approved. You can track it online ,but be careful
There was how she handed her the white paper gbam. No statement, no budget sheet, even no sponsorship letter was asked and also mention was made of our earlier denier in may

Two weeks later u went for my interview on August 25
VO: Good morning
I: Good morning and handed my passport to her
VO: Why are you going to the United states
I:To witness the Birth of my Baby and assist my wife during and after delivery
VO: When is her due date
I: told her the due date
VO: Do you have a copy of her Visa?
I: I only have a copy of her passport and gave it to her
She collects it and start typing too
VO: She hands the white paper to me and said you can pick up your passport in there days at the address (She circle the address)

Thanks to everyone on this thread for wonderful and useful information and advise. God Bless
DW will be travelling to Houston this weekend and I will come back and share the POE transcript
Anyone with affordable accommodation information around WHMC should let me know as she will lodge in the hotel in the interim pending when we get a suitable accommodation.

Good evening mamas and papas. I am new on this thread, first time mum but I read through. I noticed Texas hospitals are most commonly used. I have family in Maryland and I think it will be easier and cheaper for me to have my baby in Maryland. Please I need information about hospitals and experience in Maryland. Has anyone used Maryland recently?Response will be highly appreciated. Thank you

Hello Mamas, trust you are all doing well. Just a tip of how I was able to manage my way through the forex hustle ( and this might be useful for those that were not able to get PTA or travelex or those that need more forex apart what they cld get from banks or travelex. ). I used the Money Order approach, gave the money order to my host who then went to her bank and got me the cash equivalent. Stanbic has a limit of $1500 per month. You can do up to $500 per day (as per daily limit on POS transaction) and the charge on each order is $1.20. The exchange rate as at last week (and I also think today too) is N380 to a dollar which is a lot cheaper than black market (about N420/N425 to a dollar).
If you can have multiple accounts it will increase how much you can get(e.g. 1 account for me, 1 for DH, 1 joint account, 1 for my daughter gave me a total of $6000 at N380.

I also tried GTB too but their own market too cost (N395 to a dollar) and limit na 1000dollars per month.
I hope someone will find it useful, otherwise just ignore.

Bankers this money order approach. What if I have different cards with different bank?

I can use all my accounts abi? Or it's like PTA where u Have a limit which reflects in other banks too.

Plus I thought they banned the use of our cards abroad.
