Goodness gracious! When did the Executive become so daring and lawless enough to attack the Judiciary in this dastardly manner? They have toyed with the Legislature and now it's time to address Buhari's headache a.k.a the Judiciary?

Is this the new era of intimidation and impunity since goddamn arseholes consciously voted for in 2015? Is this the kind of gestapo governance they crave and desire? Where is democracy, separation of powers and simple, basic courtesy and respect for the rule of law?
How can they knock down gates to gain access to and arrest a serving judge? What else is left before the sham of a constitution we operate is suspended?

Your last sentence, suspension of the constitution will amount to a coup d'etat. I believe the President won't do that.

Very interesting.

The DSS will not move against these Judge's,if there are no proof of them collecting bribes.

These are Judges, and not ordinary Nigerians. So for the Security men to publicly move against them this way, would show they have gathered tangible evidences.

The Judiciary is the most protected Arm of any Government, and I hope to God the DSS are sure of what they are doing.

If these Judges have been compromised, then the National Judicial Council should not only Debar them, but they should be jailed for a long time for bringing the legal system to a disrepute.

I stand with the fight against corrupt Judges.

--Modified-

Just read that Governor Wike, after hearing these two Judges were getting picked up,personally drove to another Judge's house in Port-Harcourt and prevented the DSS from picking the Judge up.

-How did Wike know that Judge will be picked by the DSS?

-What made Wike know instinctively that the Government will be interested in that Judge?

-Why would a Governor race in his Pyjamas(heard they brought clothes for him to wear later) to prevent the DSS from picking the Judge,if he has nothing to fear?

Summary.

I think the Judiciary has a very corrupt cabal, that sells Judgement to the highest bidder, and the DSS just rounded all of them up this night.

If it is proven that Wike, just like others influenced this Judge's with bribes to retain the Governorship seat, then his matter will be revisited by the law.

And I think that is why he ran nearly naked,to the judge house to prevent the DSS from taking him away.

you are a proper mumu, is Wide not the chief security officer of the state?

There's something infinitely and explicitly wrong with APC zombies, it borders on madness. This scenario of "storming" judges houses only happens in a dictatorship and unfortunately we've been hoodwinked into allowing a known tyrant come back to power.

I knew the Buhari junta wouldn't allow a 5% take over from Malami since its only the NJC that can nominate his replacement but I didn't know how they would go about it, I didn't know the obvious dunderhead Buhari would stoop this low in a democracy under the guise of fighting corruption just to have his satanic ways. Oh how we pray for another 1985 to happen quick before Nero burns the republic down with his madness

Lol see ranting of a typical wailer, Where are you when those judges are collect bribe? where are you when those judge keep granting bail to looters of our commonwealth? bro sorry you can keep ranting Buhari is on a right track.

Mind you most of those are arrested are Northerner and Swesterners.

Exactly, They keep granting looter bail.

Until you expunge the provisions for bail from the statute books and the Constitution, ur postulations smack of complete ignorance, political servitude and nothing else. Every accused person has rights and is innocent until proven guilty. What makes a person a looters? EFCC and Buhari pronouncements or final judgment of courts? Have you not heard that he who alleges must prove? The judiciary serves to preserve the dignity of Nigerian citizens and not at the pleasure of any government in power.

Are u for real? So ur quoting me earlier was just the quintessential empty barrel making the loudest noise because they taught u small government that u never even grasped its application? Go and read up on th disciplinary functions of the National Judicial Council and then procedures for arrest and detention in the ACJA. I will not spoon-feed u with links. I referred u earlier to the 3 judges recently removed by the NJC. Read up and get back to me.

Lawyers don't do links, they do statute and rule books.

Madam, i first asked you for a title (of a publication, act, etc) before i asked for a link.

I don't live in Nigeria so i'm not conversant with the specifics of the workings of the Nigerian Judiciary. I have read up on the cases of the dismissed judges and they are fundamentally different from this one, in the fact that in those cases, private individuals made petitions against the judges, but here we are talking about the DSS, a body under the executive.

Are you saying that the ONLY way to ever arrest a judge in Nigeria is after investigation by the National Judicial Council? This sounds highly unlikely as it is undemocratic and contrary to principles of checks and balances. If this were so, then a corrupt judiciary could never be checked! Anyway, i'll continue looking at the other sources you mentioned, and be right back.

My question there was, what else is left before that suspension if the he already picks n chooses what provisions of our laws to obey or disregard? There are so many things people beloved buhari would or wouldn't do. What is the position today?

It is not out of the realm of possibility because buhari has been a military person from his formative years till date. He cannot function in a democratic setting without absolute power to kill abd destroy perceived enemies at will. He does not understand why anyone should criticize him n go free when a gun can easily cow dissenting voices and kill stubborn ones. He's not given to cerebral tendencies, just brawn, blood and gore peppered with a haughty self-righteousness and vindictiveness.

Did you just mean to say the arms should check themselves by themselves? That cannot happen.

Now here's why your analogy is not even remotely correct:

1. Judiciary cannot check executive. that is the function of the legislative

2. the legislature can arbitrarily summon the executive before them, provided there is consensus

3. The judges were arrested just last night. It is too soon to cry about due process because arrest is only stage one of the process. Due process would be for them to be informed of the charges against them, taken to court, etc

Your opinion changes nothing. Their houses havs been invaded and they will be locked up so as to serve as lessons to other judges not to undermine the powers of the executive. The judges have never ruled in favor of buhari ever since be began several trials. Do you expect him to fold his hands and watch? That is why he is the commander in chief of armed forces. He can get whatever he wants
i feel nothing but pity for you to have such an opinion of how your country should be run. if you want to be associated with tyranny and wrong democratic practices, shame on you. this is not what we voted him in for.

So all that is paining you is that they broke into their homes? You and i were not on ground, s how can yu tell whether or not such force was necessary?

What is essential and open for discussion here, is the fact that they were arrested. Should they have been r should they not have been?
