Gifthappy I excuse this part, becos ur views here are from a limited section. Igbos are 40million, wen u meet another section of ur people, u will have nothing but pride and admiration for who u are and where ur from. Though wat u said is true, it is everywhere and in igbo particularly worst due to the impact of the Biafra war. Further, an igbo leader once surrounded himself with northerners(Aguyi Ironsi) and dey ended up murdering him. Be careful of those u call friends, whether north, south, east or west.
No country can be greater or better than Biafra and that is y the world powers and Nigeria will never allow it see the light of day. Take note, we might reject u visa ooo! 1 Like |

@ Gifthappy, without ever heading government since 1960 till date, ur people can boast of having the largest Medical Research Hub in Africa. http://venturesafrica.com/meet-the-nigerian-american-who-is-building-the-largest-medical-research-hub-in-africa/ Not even South Africa can touch it. Better yet, it was built by just one man and a medical doctor in the village That is just an example of wat Biafra would be like, educated people making informed decision not illiterate and thugs occupying government house as they do in Nigeria. Igbos respect and love merit/excellence not mediocrity. In the first republic, their was no corruption becos of the reasons u gave for y igbos are bad. If u steal, ur fellow igbo will go and talk, u know we have some serious Christians and Catholics that will not hesitate to brand u the devil one time and deal with you.

Now am not into tribal bashing which is by the way actually killing Nairaland. I have few things to say; As an Igbo woman and someone very familiar with the Law, this decision by the supreme court is a welcome development! Many women and children have been dispossessed of their husband's properties because they have female children only. Now am not talking about ancestral land (ana umunna), but properties in the city, lands, houses and even cars, by greedy brothers who feel it is their right to inherit their brothers properties since he left no male heir. Now these helpless women who are led on to believe that it is our 'culture' are left struggling to live their lives in penury with their daughters! This is where this law comes to aid. Now tell me OILSOUP, will you love to see your wife and female children suffer if you have no male child? Who do you think will protect them from your greedy brothers when you die intestate? It is this Law! So I applaud the decision of the Supreme Court in this regard. 1 Like |

kabrud: You are actually suffering from acute diarrhoea of the gut and mouth. I may not have inheritance from my father's house because it is my culture but I am not under bondage to be married off at will and divorced at will and passed on to yet another man. My husband's property is enough for me and my kids. |

glossy6:Hehehe, see who is talking about husband . Anyway, which culture are u even talking about? Is it the culture in which female offsprings are practically slaves? Is it not the culture the females are sold in the name of marriage? Which right has a woman both in her husband and father's house? Is it not the same culture a widow is made to wash the corpse of her dead husband and drink the water just to prove her innocence about her husband's death? As if that is not enough, the widow is made to sleep in the same room with the corpse for three days. As all these are being done, the husband relations are already taking possession of the property of the bereaved leaving both the orphans and the widow with nothing. After some days of wearing black cloths, she is ordered to go back to her father's house where she might be given a farmland to be cultivating cassava for akpu. This is why u see most of the widows on Lagos Streets selling all these locally brewed alcoholic drinks called paraga. Some of them who are still young take to prostitution and be explaining their plight to whoever cares. Female flat heads are nothing but slaves in their home towns and for them to be recognised, they must be rich. That is why they do anything to get money. Go and free urselves of that rejection first. 1 Like |

kabrud: You are always talking about prostitution. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mind speaketh. Maybe you are a product of one What you people practice is even worse than prostitution. Or what do you call a situation where if a wife leaves her husband, she must marry another man and get a divorce before going back to her former. And the cycle continues in that manner. Even your religion states that a woman is half of a woman and that the evidence of a 10years old boy carries more weight than that of a woman. Who then is a slave here? How many women from your region are sent out of their matrimonial homes brutalized on daily basis? Your region is the only place you see a 15 years old girl in her second marriage. Go and see doctors trying to patch their leaking and oozing punas on daily basis. I'd not live like that, not even my enemy Go for a brain check please |

Gifthappy: Smart in all the wrong ways, like murdering all their people for presidency using boko haram. I dont envy them one bit. One thing is certain, i have never stepped foot in the north and that includes even Abuja and i never will in this my life time. Igbos are thinking home and making major investment in Alaigbo for the first time since the Biafra war, i guess it took us this long to recover or realise. Y will i waste my time watching grown men jumping around like kids wen i have to chase contractors to ensure the jobs are done. I prefer to visit east every opportunity i get, i have invested in my village majorly and employ people there. Aku ru uno! Think home sis, wake up, we are making provision for Agriculture in the East and dat should drive down the price of food. Beaf and other meat still requires our governors to get serious with building ranches. For now, fulani provide the beaf but not for long. |

Gifthappy: He is nothing like Dangote, u dont see him prostituting to every President. His money and efforts are fruits of his Labour and hardwork. He should be a good example to all ur igbo brothers into cocaine(DRUG) business. He is a role model and a very fine one for that matter, Dangote cannot match him at any level, from looks to intellect and of course wealth. The bolded is true though. |

Re: Supreme Court Upholds Right Of Female Child To Inherit Properties In Igboland by OILSOUP: 9:54pm On Oct 10, 2016 |
Gifthappy: The bolded is false. Who practice freedom more than Ndiigbo? Are u free in the North? Ordinary Kannywood actress music video got her suspended, yet u are not free in the east, where we tolerate u and ur igbo sisters shenanigans, from Cossy to Afrocandy. etc. For ur information Upper Iweka is today wearing a new look, if we all just condemn things without changing it then maybe u might be right but since Igbo have reformers that modify everything, we have hope. See how agberos will make you hate yourself. By force extortion and harassment without anyone saying anything what a life.. I served in Ogoja and no intimidation at the motor Park I have not witness this, so i dont know, but can only imagine. The bolded is strange though, becos it is a far fetch scenario from the Alaigbo and Ndiigbo i see wen i visit. unimaginable! |
