Computer refuses to come on, they scream IT..... when you come you will discover that they didn't plug in the power cable Printer refuses to print, they scream IT when you finally get there you discover that they didn't load paper AC refuses to work, they scream IT, come and check why this AC is not working Coffee maker refuses to work, they scream IT, come and make it work Their cell phones doesn't have network, they scream IT, why can't i make calls, madam am i your service provider? Not just an office. It happens even in our homes, churches, markets etc. An average Nigerian is closed up to learning new skills. That's why in our homes, a door get spoilt-they call a carpenter. Toilet gets bad-they look for a plumber. Bulb gets dead-where is the electrician. Roof starts leaking-they go fetch an engineer. In Hollywood movies you see families carrying out small maintenance work by themselves without having to bring in specialists, they even have specially assigned rooms ( sometimes in the basement) where engineering tools are kept for home maintenance purposes. In Nigeria, we'd rather spend that on that extra car that we don't need and has no place in the parking lot or garage. This also goes down to the poor level of vocational education in our primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. These days most engineering graduates don't even know how to use a measuring tape. 35 Likes 6 Shares |

IT depends on organisation you are working with,in an enterprise environment we have level of support 1.IT Help desk(1st level support). 2.General Service Help desk. They is no way you call IT help desk for everything. |

viqueta: Very true. My firm did a recent survey of how many times IT was called and we got a shocker. At one day alone they were called more than 80 times and by 80 percent of female staffs for unnecessary issues. I really pity those guys but I follow dey call them. 4 Likes 1 Share |
