Thanks so much. I'm even concerned about the SEVIS thing. I want to know if there's a way I can transfer it and file it for this new school that gave me admission or whether I should go pay another $200 for another SEVIS.
LagosismyHome:

no need to be in a fix ....if you really want to study the new course that fine. Just focus on how you can articulate your career goals and articulate why the switch . Do a transcript and give to some nairaland to give you feedback

i dont do transcript again only in special cases or those with multiple rejections ,,,,,,,, my hands are just too full with so many things

Ok, i didnt know you have posted them before, Lagosismyhome have said it all, try and work on what she said, regarding to the payment of new sevis, with my little knowlege on this , i think you dont need to pay another sevis fee, you can try and contact the new school and explain to them, they will guid you on how the previous school will transfer your sevis information to the new school or they will tell you if its needed to pay for another sevis

Professors are busy people.

You aren't the only candidate. You're one among thousands.

If you don't forget those two lines above, then you'd be fine sending emails to profs as per grad school admissions. If you've sent emails to 10 different profs, and you haven't gotten a reply, then you can be disturbed. Maybe then you'll need to take a look at the emails you're sending. But, I'm going to go ahead and assume you're sending research-ready emails that profs would wanna read. And say that don't expect a reply this early.

The prof might not be checking his email, might not currently be accepting students, might be sick or out of town, might not like your first name, or might think your GPA is too impressive to be true! You get it. It might be one of so many reasons, that you should try to spread your net wide. Keep sending quality emails to profs in different schools, and you'll be boosting your chances to get favorable replies.

And if you can't get through to the prof, try emailing the departmental graduate program secretary or someone similar. This, again, is not guaranteed to get you a response. It might end up in his/her spam box. Truth is, contacting someone for the first time is usually the hardest part. Once you can break in, it gets easier after that. Motivate yourself with this, and keep sending, brova.

Are you aware its a private school? Oga that is not the only school in US. We have about 52 states here with no less than 2000 schools. What are you sweating about?

Hello gurus in the house, pls i need some clarifications on this SEVIS fee thing. I applied to Uni Bridgeport early this year for fall and was given admission, so I paid for SEVIS fee and all, went to the embassy for interview twice and was denied. So I decided to give up and try look for another school. So I got admission in Valpo for Spring. My question is: Is there a way I can use that same SEVIS to file in for this new school that gave me admission?

Thanks.
Yes you can, just email DHS and tell them you'll like to transfer your sevis fee to the new school. You should get a response withing 48hrs.

Good afternoon

My first time here and I humbly salute

I want to apply for study in the USA after been denied by the Canadian Embassy.

I want to sit for the GRE and need the house input on the DIY approach or should I register with a GRE tutorial Centre.

Which do you advise

Okay boss, you've a very interesting and solid profile. But I need to ask, why not the GMAT? Since you're going for an MBA. You've gone very far in business than in Info Systems, so I suggest you choose the MBA. And MBA programs usually take students from all backgrounds, so no worries on that. The only issue is getting into a decent MBA program that will justify the investment, once you finish your program.

As for the GRE, it might be hard to cope with in-person classes, and also take care of the family. You can self-study. Yes, you can. All you'll need is focus and a determination to do important work daily, and make progress in your GRE prep. No matter the distractions you might have.

What MBA programs have you shortlisted? This would help set your target scores, and motivate you moving forward.

She ended it with do you have any questions for me and I asked some questions

Many thanks to Lagosismyhome and @happyday. Those guys are gurus. I doff my cap for them.

She said she will review my application and get back to me asap and I ended the call.

I then send her a thank you note for the phone interview.
