Why the fixation on FBN? Why would anybody continue to put his money in a "dieing" company?
For now,FBN should only be bought by traders(the jijo masters), there are better stocks out there.
Give us the names of better stocks out there?

No fixation on FBN for me, but I am fixated about everything I own. I don't think FBN is a dying company, they are struggling and it might take years to get back but certainly not dying.

This is not a very good time for Morgan Capital to be down. This is annoying and leads to investment loss. I hope they come out with a categorical statement of apology on this because clients keep to their terms and conditions to be able to use their platform, I don't see any reason why they should default with the NSE. They better resolve this sooner than later to avoid further reputational damage and financial loss to it's clients.

Something cannot be right with Dangote Cement Plc results;
Revenue in Nigeria and Pan Africa are 307,762b and 136,632b. However, PAT are 302,806b and (13,706b). Does it mean that Aliko is fleecing the Nigeria market and subsidizing the African markets

Hope Mobil Plc can emulate its sister world class company...See the que for Total shares mehn!...When I come here to apprise NSEMPA members of the stocks to have in their portfolio they ignore and chase after dieing ones...

I hope someone reading this post is beginning to mop up LAFARGE because the dark days of the stock are over...You people should focus on other viable sectors and leave bank stocks alone because to me, its over hyped...Presco is still cheap for any value discerning investor to hop into the bus now.

My one cent.

try send mail to them on which of your stocks you want to sell and buy. They have people trading for them on the floor that can handle it.

I sent a mail last nite with a follow up this morning, only to get a call from M..... that they have been disconnected from trading. How possible is it for them to trade through other trading members on the floor??

carpenter:

DEFINITION of 'Average Down'

The process of buying additional shares in a company at lower prices than you originally purchased. This brings the average price you've paid for all your shares down.

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/averagedown.asp

say you bought 1,000 units @ 33 naira...costing you about 33,000 excluding fees and taxes.

Since you have taken a stand not to sell at less that 33, you can buy more say another 1,000 at 3 naira and your average cost of the stock will go down. That way you don't have to wait till it gets to 33.

1. 1,000 units @ 33=33,000
2. 1,000 units @ 3 = 3,000

TC=36,000
AC=36,000/2000= 18

So now only need to wait for 18 and not 33 to break even (fees and taxes not included)

The more you buy now, the better for you.
Thanks you be correct carpenter. I learnt something new today. Thanks that's why I visit here.

Pushing my own frustrations over inability to trade aside,
I'm beginning to feel for the staff there who have to take all these calls and inquiries.
Who knows when last they have even been paid.
