Happy birthday Skarlett hun. May God continue to bless the works of your hands. Wishing you long life filled with joy, good health, wealth and prosperity. Back to the story. So our two main suspects are Tunji (hope not) and Omotola (what could have been her motive to murder her only sister at the tender age of 15). Can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Quickly do with your b'day paroles and drop update. Oya manage this small cake 2 Likes 1 Share

Re: Hearts In Ashes by Nobody: 8:40pm On Nov 03, 2016 |
kinah: No he wasn't, nothing could tie him to her murder except that he dated her and was the last to see her alive. There were no evidence to certify that he murdered her but there was evidence that he embezzled funds. If you can read chapters 4&5 i think some of it is explained. |

skarlett:Scarlett from the above we got the impression that Seyi was accused and jailed for Ife's death. But you're now talking of being jailed for embezzlement. Was it a diff jail term? I'm a bit lost there. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Hearts In Ashes by Nobody: 11:16am On Nov 04, 2016 |
LovelyUdy: Sweetheart sorry for the misunderstanding, that will give me something to look into in the story, i just dey write as e dey enter my head, ma binu. The thing is ehn, somebody cannot serve a three year jail term for manslaughter, if they're really found guilty their jail term go long like River Nile according to the Nigerian Law. Again, Seyi's father is a rich man, it cannot be said that his son has been awaiting trial for three years, hardly feasible with the kind of connection that the rich man is supposed to have. Lastly, he's not the person who actually murdered Ife, he only had dry sex (please don't try this at home) with her after using the bleach to wipe clean her vagina, I don dey spoil the story for you. Evidence of that dry sex was what the police saw with her bloody coochie but that wasn't the cause of her death. We are yet to know the cause of her death. I hope subsequent chapters make this clearer. Thanks for pointing out your area of misunderstanding. 5 Likes |

Dedicated to mofy1, nelsizzy and gentlebeehorlar Seventeen It was a small, less than ideal apartment in one of the low income places on the mainland but it was perfect for Seyi Lawal. The area didn’t have some of the well designed buildings or tarred roads like the Island but still it was a place Seyi could meet Saliu without Saliu and him sticking out like a sore thumb. He had nixed the idea of reuniting with his father at the airport with Saliu in tow and had instead made other arrangements through his lawyer who was a personal friend, to have Saliu lodged in the two bedroom flat on his release. It had been the perfect way to have Saliu on reach and yet not be seen with him. Saliu had acted like a child who had gotten an early Christmas present when he saw Seyi. He couldn’t help jumping up in excitement and engulfing Seyi’s slim body in a warm hug. Seyi wasn’t comfortable with the hug but he didn’t protest and allowed Saliu his fun. When one was as reta.rded as Saliu, even small things as seeing a friend from jail called for fanfare. Saliu looked no better than he had in jail, swarthy skin complexion that had been passed on from his father’s side of the family and showed the hours he’d spent in the sun shepherding cattle from pasture to pasture. He didn’t look any better but he was dressed better and for the first time in his life had good food and a little comfort availed to him. He had no family alive as his mother died during childbirth at the age of thirteen and his father, a no account drunkard died when he smashed his head on a rock after one terrible bout of drinking. It was also on one of his drink binges that he had flung his crying two year old son to the wall. The blow Saliu received after hitting his head hadn’t been fatal but the results had been life altering. Saliu was deemed an imbe.cile for life, thereafter. He had been sent to jail for stealing and slaughtering some herds of cattle with some other boys. His accomplices had absconded the state, leaving him to take the fall for them. Despite his mental state being in question, he had been fingered for other petty crimes and was slammed with a five year jail term. Seyi sometimes felt a pang of guilt when he thought that he was using Saliu just like his former accomplices had done but he gratified his conscience by thinking he was treating Saliu better than anyone had ever done in the twenty-five years of his existence. Like now that he had his face buried in the who.re’s huge tits. He looked like he was enjoying himself immensely. He had picked up two sl.uts from Allen Avenue on his way here and despite the suggestive looks the slimmer wh.ore had given him, he had been nursing his drink and paying her no attention. He looked at her seated across from him. She looked bored with her bottle of small stout clutched in fingers that were long and painted red. The top two buttons of her skin tight blouse were undone revealing her deep cleavage, looking at her didn’t turn him on but thinking of the possibilities with her did. He crocked a finger in her direction and she stood up from the chair, excitedly. He stood up and took her hands, leading her wordlessly to the room. When they got there, she brought her hands to his shirt buttons and unbuttoned them swiftly. He took hold of her hands when she was unbuckling his belt and held them together. “Later, I want to pleasure you first.” She giggled excitedly and he released her hand. “Strip for me.” ***** Things seemed to be back to normal the next day with no police officers coming in and out the building and interrogating the workers. The doctor was still alive and though her recovery looked slim, there was nothing much the detectives could do to nab her attacker. Feyi had taken another car to work, one of her husbands’ after checking the boot vigorously, she had been on edge from the start of the day but as noon approached, she relaxed her guard somewhat. Dayo dropped in to see her. He had been interrogated by the police and had a rock solid alibi for the day Stephanie was murdered. He told them all he knew about her and after several interrogations with some of her friends and relatives, the police were not any closer in finding her killer. She wanted to ask how he was holding up under the pressure but saw the question was needless, he looked miserable. His wide shoulders slumped. “I’m sorry about Stephanie,” she said. He nodded glumly. “I still can’t believe she’s gone.” Feyi hadn’t been really close to her eldest brother as she had been to her immediate senior but she could feel the depth of his pain. Her throat was clogged as she tried to imagine losing Tunji. “You know I can’t stop blaming myself for a lot of things. I just keep thinking that if I’d taken her along with me on the trip as she suggested she would be with me and away from harm’s way.” “I don’t think you had anyway of knowing something could happen to her. Its just unfortunate that this happened, there was really nothing you could do.” He went on as if he hadn’t heard her, “or maybe this is karma. God knows Tally didn’t deserve my treatment to her all these years, she loved me but I just took advantage of her and treated her like trash. She was damn too young and naïve and I was just fooling around as usual.” Feyi was at a loss, her brother never discussed his love life with her. She didn’t know what to do but to keep him talking, maybe that would help him deal with his loss better. “What a spectacular name, Tally.” He smile was wan, “yeah, its just something I started calling her as a pet name, she called me Mr. Dee and I called her Tally, her real name is Omotola.” ***** The killer tried to walk down the hospital corridor looking as normal and nonchalant as possible. Dr. Lily had been put in a private hospital ward after her surgery but was still unconscious. She had slipped into a coma nobody knew if she would wake up from but the killer was ready to make sure she would never wake up from it. The lone police officer by Dr. Lily’s door had just taken a few minutes off to take a leak in the bathroom down the hallway. It was the opportunity the killer had been waiting for. Leaving Dr. Lily as a witness was a mistake, something that hadn’t been planned for. A fucking knife had been stuck at the back of her neck and she’d been left for hours in the boot of a car yet the stu.pid woman didn’t die. It was a mistake that she was still alive, the killer never made mistakes. ***** Feyi walked down the hospital hallway all the while thinking of what her brother had told her a couple of hours earlier in her office. It seemed unlikely that the Omotola she knew was the same person her brother was talking about, yet his descriptions of her had been correct to a large extent. She didn’t know Omotola’s surname and her brother seemed to not know it either. During their windy affair, he had tried to hide his identity as the first son of Otunba Cole, and had given her a fake surname of Kehinde. She had simply told him she was Omotola and he hadn’t probed any further. Feyi was drawn out of her thoughts by the absence of the police officer in front of Dr. Lily’s door. She was disappointed at the carelessness of the Nigerian police in handling the welfare of who was supposed to be a prime witness in an attempted murder. She looked through the dim window of the private ward and noticed there was already somebody with Dr. Lily. Someone really familiar. She opened the door in surprise, “Omotola?” Tbc tomorrow 13 Likes 7 Shares |
