Paying tithe is a necessity from God. The responsibility of the pastor is to ensure that he uses it to provide food in God's storehouse. If he does not use it for that purpose, he's not answerable to you, he's answerable to God. Yours is to pay, once u pay, then you've obeyed your own part.
And you will be blessed.

Offering shdnt be a compulsion but optional. Any pastor who makes it compulsory is a thief.

who eats this food?

I get annoyed whenever I see some people twist God's words to suit their own selfish interests. No where in the new testament did Jesus commanded us to pay tithe & offerings to the clergy men, rather He only commanded that we should give our wealth to the poor (the less priviledges) & follow His Lifestyle, that's all o. sad The problem with our people is that we don't read & understand our bibile, that's why the enemy is oppressing us severely.

I am getting pissed with the way pastors are asking members for money these days . last week Sunday our pastor announced that we have to contribute 10% of our monthly salary to the church for the next six months , this means we are loosing 20% of our income to church alone (I.e 10% tithe ,10% for contribution to the church )
My anger is this , are these pastors not aware that times are hard?, what have they done to assist poor member who can't even afford A decent meal, pay fees, rent etc ?, all they do is senselessly ask for money!
They keep screaming , bring your tithe into the store house , yet we are yet to see anu store house in the church ! They ignore the part that talked about helping the poor, the fatherless and widows. This is the height of greed and selfishness.

Nigerian Pastors , WE ARE IN A RECESSION. Pls

Niaralanders what role has your pastors played in this period of recession?

Prayers, help those in need, but that doesn't stop you from paying your tithe and contribution when the needs arisr. Lay up your treasures in heaven by supporting God's work as there's no excuse whatsoever. As the case maybe probably your church is demanding kindly move to another church because salvation is personal as it's not mandatory. Murmuring and complain wouldn't solve the issue at hand as Yahweh hates that.

WHAT U DON'T KNOW ABOUT TITHE
Deuteronomy 14:23
“Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God always.”

Deuteronomy 14:25
“Then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the LORD your God will choose.”

Deuteronomy 14:26
“Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice.”

SOME QUESTIONS NEEDS BE ANSWERED THROUGH DEATH

YOU RECEIVE A SALARY OF N100000 EVERY MONTH

30% GOES TO GOVERNMENT / TAXES
20% GOES TO WIFE / FAMILY
10 - 20% GOES TO RECONCILATION OF DEBT
10% GOES TO NEEDS LIKE CHILDREN SCHOOL FEES , BOOKS ETC
10% GOES TO POCKET STILL SOME FRIENDS WILL STILL NOT LET YOU CHOP IN PEACE COS OF BORROW BORROW

AND ONE PASTOR WILL COME AND TELL YOU THAT GOD SAY YOU MUST PAY 10% OF YOUR INCOME SO HE WILL DOUBLE YOUR BLESSINGS

MBANU... WHY ARE ALL THOSE MAJORITY WHO PAY TITHES NOT BILLIONAIRES TODAY

I Haven't seen tithes payed in the new testament Please show me one example for me to learn.

2cor 9:6-8, 1cor 16:1-3. Luke6:38

am still waiting for the so called supporters of Tithe to give me an example in the new testaments.##
i think assuming the Apostle collected tithe it would have been written in the new testament bible.

and i still keep on asking; "OUT OF ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO THE OLD TESTAMENT ISRAELITES; WHY IS it THAT ITS ONLY the MONETARY PART THAT TODAY`S PASTORS (esp. Nigerians ones) ARE focusing on."

What happened to the Bull/Lamb sacrifice etc; someone will say Jesus has stop those things via dying on the cross (which i believe too) but why did the TITHE not joined?

dont u think cos he came to update the old testament; thats why all old testment practices including Tithes; lamb sacrifice etc were not carried out by the church in the book of Acts?

food for thought

Please can you tell us where the store house is? And pls don't tell me the store house is the bank coz foods are not kept in banks. And my question is where in the Bible did you see people paying tithe as money the tithe that peole paid back then were animals farm produce. Who changed modern day tithe to money? And the tithe was meant for the nation of Israel alone even if you go to isarael today the Rabbis and other priest of judaism don't collect tithe anymore so if the nation that first observed tithe doctrine has discontinued the doctrine why do churches in other countries still scare the hell out of their members to pay tithe...even God told the levitical preists not to collect any allotment or any property from among the people of Israel Numbers 17:20-21. So why do our pastors/priests still collect tithes? mind you i'm a born again christian don't think i'm an atheist. I know the word of God from back to back

By giving you prayer point:

The person that is holding back your millions should DIE DIE DIE.

the person that said you should not drive a car should DIE DIE DIE.

Logic: You sleep in the church spend all your time there, make little money, give most back to the church (your rent for practically living in the church). And you want to be wealthy drive a car.

You could probably be praying for yourself to DIE DIE DIE. because you are the one holding yourself back.

I can see how well the devil is playing with the minds of Christians these days,if it's not about one pastor on NL front page, it's y we shud pay tithe nd offering, back in d days we pay our tithes nd support the church,Y is it nau a problem today? The same pastors y'all we run to in tym of need r d same pastors ppl insult these days... I agree there r some wolves in sheep clothing but d rate at which ppl condemn d happenings in churches dz days hv bcum alarming, when d pastor prophesy's into ur life from the altar ,u open ur mouth nd shout Amennnnn..no one can force u to contribute money if u do not want to, d pastor cannot hold ur hands or force d money out if u do not want to give it.My own is pls stop judging pastors nd calling dem names, wen trouble blows u'l remember the man of God,wen it's abt money ,he's a hungry pastor, stop chuzing d part of d scripture dat suits u nd remember dat pastors r humans too,no one is above sin or mistakes instead if u do not like d way dey do things in a particular church u can change ,after all the heavenly race is an individual race..Each man must surely account for himself.Ok bye

Where in the bible did God say pay ur tithes to men of God. He said bring all the tithee into my storehouse that there may be food in my house. So when u obey by bringing your tithes to God's house are u expected to just drop it on the floor?

Yours is to obey God by bringing your tithe and God has promised in the bible to bless you for that simple obedience. It's the pastors responsibility to ensure that the tithe is used for food in God's storehouse. If he doesn't use it for that purpose, he will be judged by God. Tithing isn't compulsory for modern day Christians. Same way killing witches, enemies and stoning sinners are in the bible.

And just so you know, Tithe was a
requirement of the Law in which the Israelites were to
give 10 percent of the crops they grew and the livestock
they raised to the tabernacle.

How many churches accept crops and animals as tithe?

That should tell you something.

Today's Christian are under grace not law.

Secondly, Old Testament Law required multiple tithes—
one for the Levites, one for the use of the temple and
the feasts, and one for the poor of the land—which
would have pushed the total to around 23.3 percent. So if you only pay 10% then you're stealing 13% from God.

yes its in the bible.

New generation Christians give as they can. There's no fixed percentages and although its important, its no compulsory.

New Testament nowhere designates a percentage of
income a person should set aside, but only says gifts
should be “in keeping with income” (1 Corinthians 16:2)

Each man is taught to give what he has
decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under
compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” ( 2
Corinthians 9:7).

I don't care if you're a pastor or a potential pastor. It's wrong to collect tithes meant for priest who were not allowed to own properties and still go ahead to build houses, lands, private jets and schools.

God will judge.
but the pastors own properties and business today. If we say everyone should come back to Catholic Church everyone go begin de vex

I have asked this questions over and over again during digging deep but im yet to get a good and convincing explanation. Why did Jesus not dwell on tithing? He made sure he talked about the very important aspects of our spiritualities, he was always talking about the kingdom of God, repentance, love, keeping God's commandment, even when he mentioned tithing he called it a lesser matter, why is tithing not part of the 10 Commandments, if i can remember, i can see anywhere in the bible where Jesus paid or collected tithe. Why is that its only tithing that was majorly picked out of old testament? So many questions

Ok have u heard of d owner of cocacola company who paid 9/10 not even 1/10 as tithe. Or the owner of Honda who sold herself as a slave and gave the money to the church or the owner of Colgate toiletries who pay 5/10 as tithe.

Its simple. Paying tithe is different from giving the poor. They are different things.

Look at you. You don't pay tithe yet issues on tithe keep getting your attention. Why not use the energy and intelligence to obey God by paying tithe and stop thinking of whether ur pastor is pleased or not

To make heaven of course requires absolute obedience to Gods word which includes tithing, without making unnecessary excuses like you're doing now.

You said God did not ask you to pay tithe and you want to make heaven...funny

Kindly answer this question..which book of law says its a man who should provide for his family and not a woman? I'm awaiting your answer

i dont see any relevance to ur question...well common sense is enough to know that a man should provide more for the family than a woman.. God would have made the woman stronger if he wanted the opposite.
At this rate i guess if God himself comes down and tell u dont pay tithe plss.. u wont listen to him.

Ok so u believe God created the man stronger so he has the responsibility of providing for his home. Well that answer is good enough at least u believe in the creation story of the old testament

The same old testament stated...bring all tithes into my house that there may be food in my storehouse

Who am I, and who owns the money, if I die now how much of it will I take along, many as gone out to earn money, but could not go back home alive, so what's my problem in just paying 10% of the gift of God, to show appreciation
Whether the pastor use it to feed himself or the poor, or to beautify the church is not my concern, my concern is I have done my part for God.
