I don't know what it is that makes seemingly good well brought up girls go gaga when they see footballers.

Then you have the calculating, scheming, low down, predators and totally unscrupulous well you know types. That will stop at nothing and do absolutely anything to get in to bed with them.

Finally it is very difficult to have parental control and discipline over your son who can afford to buy a range rover every week.

I watched Pogba when he was U18 he was clearly the best. However, the gate keepers (youth coaches) felt he was in the way of thier boy Cleverly. By the way Cleverly Dad was a coach at United, and Cleverly put ahead of Pogba, not surprisingly Pogba was taken out after adverse reports given to Ferge amongst other issues.

MRI scans are indicative within a limited set of parameters they are not absolutes. The bone mass density of a teenager who has a high protein diet, add to that involved in sports using synthetic protein shakes, etc. will have a far more developed bone mass density.

I can you assure the bone mass density of boys here will be considerably more developed than our boys and so fusion will occur much earlier . So using average parameters as the unit of measurement. Will find most boys in Nigeria particularly those coming from some of our impoverished back grounds who will have a low bone mass density and a lower rate of fusion..

By implication this means that a boy of 17 -22 could easily be classed as 17. I do recall being in Nigeria when I was much younger a cousin came to stay with us from the village who was 21, at that age he actually grew taller, a reflection of Malnutrition.

A gap of +/- 2 years is appropriate for MRI tests in developing countries.. That still makes Yahaya less than 20. There will be outliers ofcourse but It is rare to see players above 19 passing the test.

The under 17 players produced since 2013 have been youngsters except maybe for a few outliers.

Not true. MRI scan is a scientific measure with all factors considered, including Nutrition and harsh living conditions.

It is even difficult for eighteen to pass the test. The error range is very slim. The plates disappear at 17.

Yahaya is 18 currently, forget all this big English.

Our boys from 2013 and 2015 are their true ages, even if we can't vouch for anyone else. No need to subtly denigrate them and exalt the West in their ways.

lol, he finally scores this season and it's an og? The immediate removal was harsh though. At least another ten minutes would have been appreciated.

Now, lemme get to something I mentioned months ago when Iwobi started dating that girlfriend of his late last season.

Anyone can disagree, but I maintain my stand that dude didn't need that chic in his life and still doesn't. This whole idea of keeping a girlfriend, especially one who is down with going to clubs and 'turning up' has never been good.

A lot of people discount the impact a relationship has on people people's psyche, it can mess up your head at the oddest times and ruin your game.

Even Pep Guardiola admitted that the key to being a good player is staying away from bedroom activities.

Anyway, he needs to drop that chic, leave social media and die on that training pitch to get his mojo back cuz this season has just gone left for him

I think Wenger asked for goals too early. He has put added pressure on his shoulders but i'm sure he will bounce back from this situation.
I am sure that as a good boy that he is the girl has met his parents and they at least are ok with her. He could be doing much worse, he seems to be having good clean fun so that's good with me.

I agree that teams we have produced since 2013 have been the youngest U17's in the context of Nigeria we have produced.

However, the diction of appropriate may be aspirational. As a result scientific possibility still remains, a boy of 22 from an impoverished malnourished background will have the possibility of being classed as 17 with an MRI scan.

I'm not sure which Berisha you are talking about but I know the name is derived from Albania. This is a country in Eastern Europe former Communist Block that will compete with Nigeria for corruption and sharp practices. These guys are probably more corrupted and perversely dishonest than Nigerians. My brother was robbed yes in London at gun point by a couple of Albanians.

Indeed I have an agent friend who has set up shop there as an easy way to bring players into Europe through the backdoor and bypass a whole series of restrictions.

The issue of age falsification touches every facet of society in Nigeria, it's just normal practice.

I will reiterate the MRI scan is not an absolute it is aggregate indicative over a possible age range.

I do not ascribe to Europe being corruption free.

However, what I can say is that the structure, process and data management, the general societal infrastructure in Western Europe make it near impossible to falsify your age.

I did not say corruption and other sharp practices are not rife in English football because they are, a lot more than most of you may imagine.

Mister, you are not making sense. The Principles behind the MRI test for Teenagers under the age of 17 is "proven" to be 99.9% spot on in terms of accuracy.

That 0.1% is the "super" slim probability that an 18 yr old will pass the test because the distal radial physis (growth plates), as seen in his left wrist anatomy, are still open i.e. hasn't fused...

...Or the "super" slim probability that a 17 yr old may fail because his plates have fused and disappeared.

This is why a permitted gap of +/- 2 is the standard "margin for error" as regards MRI testing.

In Biology and Medicine, there are rare variational cases but the margin for error is super slim in this MRI case.

All your talks of proteins, bone density and thus density will push the plates to fuse faster and a Nigerian/African lad of 17-22 will be classed as 17 and whatever else you are saying is all bollocks.

IF NA BY FACE YOU WAN TAKE DETERMINE AGE, ABEG, EVER HEARD OF PROGERIA AND LORDE'S DISEASE??

The MRI test for 17 and under is super-tested and trusted AND IT APPLIES TO TEENAGERS ACROSS ALL CONTINENTS.

Read this extract.... (I've always kept it because of people like you who will subtly pop up to discredit the ages of our young stars who were MRI-tested. When you said the ones on the Youths/Talents thread are "old", I just typed "Looolllll"... U know why? Because, you were right. Those ones were not MRI-tested so they can give themselves whatever age they want.... BUT WHEN YOU THROW SAME SHADE AT THE 2013 AND 2015 GOLDEN EAGLETS CLASS.... Then I will show no mercy and proceed to kill off that ignorance). smiley

Here below:

Prof. Jiri Dvorak, the chairman of F-MARC who also works in a large orthopaedic hospital, came up with the idea of using MRI instead, since MRI does not expose players to any radiation and also provides detailed images and better contrast between different body tissues than any other imaging systems in radiology. Consequently, F-MARC developed a new method that uses MRI for age determination.

In close collaboration with the AFC (Dr Gurchuran Singh), CAF (Dr Yacine Zerguini) and CONMEBOL (Dr Raul Madero), F-MARC performed MRI scans of the wrist in more than 500 football players of different ethnical origin (Switzerland, Malaysia, Algeria, Argentina, Senegal), all aged between 14 and 19 years and with confirmed birth certificates, and developed a six-point grading system for the fusion of the growth plate . It was established that in a normal population, complete fusion is very unlikely to occur prior to 17 years of age. In fact, the probability is less than 1% (we know now it's 0.1%). In other words, if the MRI shows complete fusion of a player´s wrist, this player is older than 17 years with a certainty of more than 99% (we know now it's 99.9%).

So please, desist henceforth from discrediting the likes of Musa Yahaya and Co.... THEY ARE INDEED BONAFIDE YOUNGSTERS!!!

I wish not to go into deeper details on the principles of how the MRI does what it does with/on the left wrist of teenagers and how the grading system is done else I turn this thread into a science thread.

But if you're so curious, you got google. smiley

German Journalist – Felix Uduokhai Is The
Player Germany Won’t Want To Lose To Nigeria Not Akpoguma

Highly respected German journalist Roland Mark
says Germany won’t mind losing Kelvin Akpoguma to Nigeria, but will do everything to
stop little known Felix Uduokhai from playing for
Nigeria.

Mark insist that Akpoguma is highly respected
and has abilities which are not in doubt, but
Uduokhai has grown in leaps and bounds since
making the step up to the main team of 1860
Munich.

Comfortable as a centre back or left full back, the 19 year old is viewed as one of the finest young defenders in Germany, and was reportedly on the wish list of Bayern Munich last summer.

So far he has made four appearances for 1860
Munich with a goal to his name, a sign of how
much of an influence he is in the team, a fine run of form which earned him a call up to the German U18 team.

”Akpoguma is a talented defender no doubt but
Uduokhai is the real deal, quick, good in the air
and at the age of 19, he is already a regular for
1860 Munich” ,Mark told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”Uduokhai is the one talent Germany won’t want to lose at the moment not Akoguma. I read he is on the watch list of the Nigerian coach, it would be a shame if he plays for Nigeria instead of Germany”.

Super Eagles Target Nwakaeme Powers Team To Victory Over Inter-Milan, Ogu Struggles

Hapoel Be’er Sheva forward Anthony Nwakaeme, who is one of the players currently under watch by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr did his chances a whole lot of good against Inter-Milan.

Israeli side Be’er Sheva were trailing the Milan
giants 2-0 before they rallied back to win the tie
3-2 with a late goal, which helped them complete the double over Inter Milan in the Europa League.

Nwakaeme kept his nerves with scores at 2-1 to
draw his side level from the spot against 10 man
Inter-Milan, aside his goal, he had a very good
game full of energy, power and hardwork for his
team at both ends of the pitch.

While the 27 year old had a game to remember
same can’t be said of John Ogu, who was recently handed a recall to the Nigeria senior national team but failed to play in the 3-1 win over Algeria.

Ogu was slow in making up grounds and left lot of space in front of his defence, which Inter-Milan exploited to their advantage especially during the first half of the tie.

“Brazil Killer” Ubong Ekpai Stars In Europa
League For Slovenian Side In Big Win Over Qarabag

Nigeria U-23 forward Ubong Ekpai who is famed
for scoring the lone goal that gave Nigeria U23s a 1-0 win over Brazil in a friendly game before the Rio Olympics, was one of the stars for Slovenian side Slovan Liberec in their Europa League tie against Qarabag.

A shock omission from the Nigerian male football team to the Olympic in Rio, Ekpai who is on loan to Slovan Liberec from Israeli side Maccabi Haifa, proved his worth as his team romp to a 3-0 win over Qarabag.

Although he didn’t get on the score sheet, the 21 year old was one of the liveliest player on the
pitch for his side, defending and attacking
whenever the need arises during interval of the
game.

His performance in the game will no doubt
enhance his chances of establishing himself in the team, where he will spend one year on loan to help him settle to the demands of European
football.

The former Akwa United man has made two
appearances in the Europa League but just like
his form in front of goal in the league, he is still
waiting for his first goal for the team.

Onazi must improve or lose Eagles place –Etim

Etim Esin

Former Nigeria international, Etim Esin, has said
Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, should
improve to avoid losing his place in the Super
Eagles during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Etim, who praised the team for their 3-1 victory
over Algeria, said Onazi had become the team’s
weakest link in the midfield.

He said Chelsea midfielder Mikel and Fareinse of
Portugal midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo should be
praised for rising to the challenge when Turkey-
based Onazi performed below expectations in the clash against Algeria in Uyo on November 12.

“The Eagles’ midfield for the game against Algeria was very different from the one which played Tanzania in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and the World Cup qualifier against Zambia. The midfield (against Algeria) was stronger than the two previous matches,” the former Lokeren of Belgium midfielder told our correspondent.

“But Onazi must pick up the form we knew him
for. He has dropped considerably from the reliable cover for the defenders. His passes are not as accurate as they used to be and he often exposes the defenders to danger.

“It was however a delight to watch the play
between himself and Mikel and Etebo. – They
really covered for Onazi. The moves leading to
those two goals conceded against Zambia and
Algeria could have been prevented if Onazi was
the player we knew in 2013. He needs to work
harder because if another player does well in that role, he may be dropped from the team.”

The former Calabar Rovers player believes the
Eagles will beat Cameroon but advised Nigeria
coach Gernot Rohr to strengthen the team.
He said, “Nigeria are no strangers to Cameroon
and they will want to put up a fierce battle when we meet them next year. But I believe that with adequate preparations the Eagles will defeat the Lions.”

Mikel gets N66m a week offer from Chinese
club

Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel has been
offered $212,000 a week (about N66m official
rate) by Chinese club Shanghai SIPG.

The offer according to owngoalnigeria.com was
made to the player’s agent after the 2018 FIFA
World Cup qualifier against Algeria. Mikel has
been frozen out by Chelsea coach Antonio Conte
despite being in a rich physical form. He has been linked to a move in January to French club
Marseille.

Mikel is now faced with the choice of taking the
huge pay or settle for the former UEFA
Champions League champions, where he faces a
pay cut.

Shanghai SIPG is rated third in terms of wealth
and revenue in the Chinese league and the club is
currently managed by former Chelsea coach
Andre Villas-Boas. It also has Sven Goran Erikson
former England coach in the management team.

Last season Mikel turned down a move to
Shanghai Shenhua, which currently have in its
squad, former Super Eagles striker Obafemi
Martins who is living large in China.

We Have Over 10 Offers But Etebo Is Not For
Sale – CD Feirense Tells Clubs Interested In
Super Eagles “Kante”

Portuguese side CD Feirense have ruled out any
potential sale of Oghenekaro Etebo in the
upcoming transfer window despite having almost ten offers for the 21 year old Nigerian.

Etebo is one of the most sought after Nigerian
players at the moment, and his value has further risen after a commanding performance against Algeria in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers which Nigeria won 3-1.

However despite confirming receiving inquiries
from more than ten clubs, Portuguese side
Feirense where he plays have ruled out any
potential sale in January.

”He is very much in demand, about ten teams
have inquired about his availability, but our reply still remains the same, he is not for sale this January”, coach Jose Mota was quoted as saying in the Portuguese press.

”We are a newly promoted side and we have
ambition as well, keeping Etebo is one of our top
priorities in January. He is so vital to our plans of
having a fine season in the top division”.

He said, “Nigeria are no strangers to Cameroon
and they will want to put up a fierce battle when we meet them next year. But I believe that with adequate preparations the Eagles will defeat the Lions.”

LAY OFF ALEX IWOBI: ARSENAL STAR NEEDS
PROTECTION, NOT ABUSE

By Solace Chukwu

The Nigeria midfielder came in for extensive criticism following the Gunners' 2-2 draw against PSG on Wednesday, but the last thing he needs is terrace abuse

Arsenal’s draw on Wednesday at home to Paris
Saint-Germain means their placement in the
group is no longer in their own hands. The French champions will seal qualification in first place with a victory at home against winless Ludogorets on Matchday 6, again condemning the Gunners to a round-of-16 tie against one of the winners of the other groups.

The disappointment is stark, not because it is an unfamiliar situation for the Londoners, but
because only a month ago, it genuinely seemed
there would be a break from the norm. Fight,
heart, grit, aggression, all of the factors that had
been lacking at the Emirates over the years
seemed in abundant supply, and all the team’s
moving parts were grinding along in perfect
syncronization.

Central to this was the form of youngster Alex
Iwobi, and for all the midfield dysfunction
occasioned by the continued absence of the
metronomic Santi Cazorla, the team’s loss of form has coincided with that of the Nigeria
international.

Having broken into the team at the end of last
season, Iwobi has proceeded to make himself
indispensable this term, culminating in a star turn
in the 3-0 demolition of Chelsea in September.

With his head and socks rolled down, the 20-year-
old excelled in knitting Arsenal’s play together,
and taking some of the creative burden off Mesut
Ozil.

However, there has been a dip in recent weeks,
starting from the North London derby where the
Arsenal befuddlement at Mauricio Pochettino’s
decision to field a back three was apparent.

Usually a picture of assurance and composure,
Iwobi seemed unsure what zones to exploit, and
was not his usual sparkling best.

Within a team that is built on balance, that most
ubiquitous Wengerism, it is no surprise then that
as its chief exponent has fallen away, so has the
rest of the team. However, this is not new in
football: young players will suffer from breaks in
consistency at different points, a fact that should
not detract from their overall quality.

When these dips happen, it then behooves the
manager to make the call to rest the player on
occasion to preserve freshness, a measure which
saw Iwobi sit out Arsenal's trip to Old Trafford over
the weekend.

The decision was bemoaned at the time, but it is
one which will do the Nigeria international good in
the long run. What he most certainly does not
need at this time is to become the newest mascot
for the internet’s obsession with scapegoating.

His performance was again beneath his lofty
standards at the Emirates, and his sad own-goal
was the trigger for a backlash of abuse on social
media, where context is always in short supply.

Iwobi's confidence levels were already pretty
low lately, needs to stay off Snapchat and get
back to basics.
Form is temporary.

Indeed, it would appear he is a victim of his own
good performances. It is easy to forget this is still
very much a youngster learning his trade at the
highest level of European football, where mistakes
are swiftly seized upon and every kick and sprint
is picked apart.

Iwobi is such a bottler, reason behind being
behind in the league and 2nd in UCL group.

At 20, he is firmly established in a team
challenging at the top of the Premier League, and
is already off the mark for goals in international
football after just two starts. There is absolutely
no evidence to suggest that Iwobi is anything
other than a very good footballer who is growing
fast and has, as his teacher, one of the best
developers of youth in world football.

Own goals are unfortunate, but it is easy to forget
that there was one scored at the other end as
well, via the legs of Marco Verratti.

People crying about Iwobi's form clearly didn't
watch 20 year old Cristiano. I did. Brilliant
today, silly tomorrow. Then at 22/23, BOOM!
— Yomi Kazeem (@TheYomiKazeem) November

No one would mistake the Italian for average on
that score, and in any case, had Arsene Wenger
made his intended sub - bringing Granit Xhaka on
for Iwobi - the youngster would not have even
been on the pitch at that point.

Martial and Rashford is what Arsenal fans think
Iwobi is.

It seems now that all the (justified) hype over his
performances were simply to create a higher
platform off of which to knock him down. It is a
classic gimmick of the media, whose job seems
now to be not reportage, but the advancement of
narratives.

There is no way any fan should be digging out
Iwobi, he's young, he's still raw and learning,
he was visibly gutted last night, feel for him!
— Mr DT © (@mrdt2016) November 24, 2016

Lay off Iwobi. Slumps happen, and even seasoned
veterans can only function optimally within a
team that is playing well. This is simply not the
case with Arsenal at the moment, and the
responsibility to fix it is on entire team, coaching
staff inclusive, not on the shoulders of a 20-year-
old wonderkid.

Exceptional article. Insightful and with diverse reasons to drive point. Iwobi is still learning and growing. He needs time before he can bring in consistent performances. Even Ronaldo De Lima had awful games after he was twice the best player in the World.

I think one of the heavy criticisms comes with his choice to represent Nigeria over England. Some can not stomach that he put us over the English fans.

Iwobi should use these criticisms to fuel his hunger to become a better player. He already got the intelligence and World Class touch. He just needs to work hard. With perseverance, everything will take shape.

A lot has been said on this thread about Iheanacho being or not being a CF and arguments and counter arguments have been exchanged and all of this is with a view to finding that icing striker on the delicious cake baking now for Nigerian football. However I will not join issues on that point cos my eyes are fixed elsewhere and time, thank goodness is ticking fast to bring my desires to reality for Osimhen. So Let it be said now, loud and clear that Victor Osimhen is the undisputed natural heir to the central forward throne of the Super Eagles. Supernerd has often reiterated this. Osimhen has 'it' -if you know what 'it' means-he's has great physical stature, he's quick, strong in the air, good with both feet, dribbles, has great positional awareness, he's gifted with the killer instinct and composure of a deadly goal poacher and more importantly he appears to me to have the deep self knowledge of being a striker. Some say he is too young and that he lacks experience. For other players not of the ilk of Osimhen I can admit of such objections but if you'd apply such criteria to this boy I'd say bullocks to that! I remember vividly seeing a wonder kid stripling called Eto'o scoring goals with the aplomb of a goal king aficionado at the African cup of Nations in 2000. He was very, very young, a teen. Eto'o went on from there in leaps and bounds to establish himself as a nightmare for defenders and goalkeepers in the best teams and leagues in the world - Spain, Italy. I look at Osimhen and something happy clicks in my guts. I repeat he has that certain indefinable and unnameable '' something' that 'it that 'all great strikers have. That boy is not one of many who failed to live out their potential. This our Osimhen carries greatness inside him. And therefore I roll out the royal red carpet, I sound the trumpets heralding the King as we cry 'All Hail the King'!

Iwobi should concentrate on his football and not be carried away by the glamour and hype that surrounds football today. Okocha should please impress it on him that he should roll up his sleeves and work. Okocha bloomed late. Iwobi has the potential to become a consummate midfield maestro this early if he doesn't allow anyone (that his girlfriend on my mind) or anything to detail him. They say he is humble. I pray his humility sees him through till he bounces back in a ripe and vicious form for both club and country. What happened might just be the bitter yet good tonic to get his sweet footballing juices flowing again.

German Journalist Claims Rohr Is In Talks
With Talented German Born Nigerian Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee

German journalist Roland Mark has dropped a big hint regarding the chances of Nigeria snaring talented German born midfielder Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee to play for the Super Eagles.

”I can confirm that contact has been made
between coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr and Noah-Joel. Sometimes around last week I was told”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

”His switch won’t pose much of a problem,
because he is yet to be capped by Germany at
any level. He is highly rated and very exciting, it
will be a big loss to Germany, if he gets to play for Nigeria”.

Sarenren-Bazee is widely regarded as one of the
finest talents in Germany at the moment, where he currently plays for 2. Bundesliga side
Hannover 96.

The 20 year old is born to Nigerian parents in
Germany, his father originally hails from South
South Nigeria, Bayelsa State precisely, while his
mother is German.

Like the Iheanacho-Barca links, could this be "just rumour/speculations" again?? My answer: Like the Nacho/Barca talks, I believe it's just mere scouting talk.... Besides why leave your starters' role at chelsea and move to Barca where you'll be considered a back-up? Sergi Roberto is doing pretty good down that right for Barca... smiley

Barcelona Weighing Up Move For Chelsea Ace Victor Moses

Barcelona are mulling over a move for Chelsea star Victor Moses, according to reports emanating from the Spanish press.

Sport.es says the sporting director of Barca and his entourage have scouted the Nigeria international three times this season, and were impressed with his defensive qualities and offensive attributes.

Moses, 25, has been converted to a right wing-
back by Blues manager Antonio Conte, and assisted goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois post a
shutout in each of the last six games in the
English Premier League.

Prior to his switch to Wigan Athletic, the Nigerian was linked with a move to Barcelona but the transfer did not materialize.

Former Nigeria internationals Emmanuel
Amuneke and Gbenga Okunowo have
represented the Nou Camp side in the past.

You gotta be kidding me..... Moses mentioned Barca too? Like four years ago...? Hmmmm..... Well, four years on, he's the most in-form right wingback globally and is happy so far at Chelsea and I dont think Barca can pick him up even if they want to unless they guarantee him a shirt on that Right behind Messi in the rightback role..... More like a Flying Right full-back... Hmmm.... #SpeculationsGalore

Chelsea Wing-Back Moses : I Will End Up In
Barcelona If I Keep Working Hard

Super Eagles star Victor Moses is close to realizing his dream to become a player of Barcelona before hanging up his boots, with the Nou Camp side exploring ways to sign him next summer.

Shortly after sealing a move to Stamford Bridge
from Wigan Athletic in 2012, the right wing-back stated that consistent hard work could take him to the Spanish champions.

“It has been a long journey and I just want to
keep strong and work hard for myself, whether
it’s football or not football,” Moses told The
Guardian four years ago.

"I have to thank God for being where I am, it’s like a dream come true and, if I keep working hard, who knows, I’ll probably end up in Barcelona one day.”

Moses is under contract with Chelsea until June
30, 2019.

EXCLUSIVE: Celtic Outcast Efe Ambrose To
Trial With Championship Side Wolverhampton Wanderers

According to reports exclusively gathered by
Owngoalnigeria.com Celtic outcast Efe Ambrose
will in the coming days test with English
Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Nigeria international was offered the option of the trial by an intermediary who is close to the Kaduna born star, but he is yet to provide an answer on if he will honour the invitation or not.

Ambrose has been frozen out at Celtic, after series of poor performances, even though new coach Brendan Rodgers backed him publicly couple of times during his early days as coach of the team.

A late move to Standard Liege of Belgium on
transfer deadline day broke down over
contractual terms and loan duration, for the 28
year old who will be out of contract in the

He is free to talk to interested clubs from January when he enters the final six months of his contract, and unconfirmed reports has it that he is on the wishlist of some teams in the MLS and China.
