What Do You Believe About Jesus And Why Do You Believe In Him by MizMyColi(f): 11:02am On Dec 20, 2016
Good morning.
This is the thread.
Let me get my questions readysmiley

Sarassin:

I take a more mystical point of view with respect to Jesus of Nazareth. In the bible what is truly known about the man Jesus would not fill one chapter in the NT, the gospel accounts are essentially little more than works of quasi-historical fictionalized accounts, and the truly authentic sayings of Jesus are beyond the realms of most Christians who seem not to care too much about the antecedents of the progenitor of their religion.

In spite of the above, I firmly believe in Jesus of Nazareth, as a mystic one is taught to experience a deity, and I can assure you that no religion has a monopoly of any deity or God, the religion is only “A” channel to the deity nothing more and that channel can be dispensed with altogether. Therefore I will call on Jesus, Krishna, Ganesha or the Archangel Michael as I require, each has their individual divine mandate, for instance the Hindu deity Ganesha will remove obstacles that appear insurmountable in one's path virtually instantaneously, you don't have to be a Hindu to call on him, neither do you have to be a Christian to call on Christ. Personally I experience Jesus as the deity of compassion, if you ever require divine compassion in your life then Jesus is the one,he is unique but nothing in the Christian texts prepares you to really encounter him meaningfully.

Throughout the history of mankind we can glimpse the recurring actions of certain deities, it is easy to discern the actions of the Archangels in the affairs of men down the ages and if one looks close enough you will see those of Jesus too, in his many guises but most will not recognize him. Don't let go, rather seek a meaningful encounter. We can discuss this further on another thread if you wish.

1. You talked about what is truly known about the man Jesus....
Save for our gut instinct, how can we be sure as to what is the truth about his life and times, especially considering that neither you, I, nor anyone in this age was present during his lifetime.

Some have even argued that he never existed, some swear that they know him and even dined with him before stepping out.

Is there some proof out there that he actually died and rose again?

Have you come across these truly authentic sayings. Can you share?

I won't deny that lately, I have had cause to think that some parts of the bible might have been "modified" because tbh, if I followed the bible to the latter, I would not believe in God....

Which brings me to my last question for now.

(Though I like to think of Jesus as the son of God, not a deity. Referring to Jesus as deity makes me feel pagan-ish)
Do you believe that there is an Almighty God from whom these deities proceed?

Well, as you may know, the Archangel Michael will come to your aid in times of severe difficulties, if one requires supernatural assistance to dispel malign influences then an invocation of Michael will remedy the situation. Ganesha is the Hindu elephant headed deity known as the remover of obstacles, very few Hindu's will undertake a new venture without invoking Ganesha, the deity is extremely powerful, wherever there are obstacles in the path of one's progress, an invocation of this deity will remedy the situation virtually immediately.

as an aside, on the 21st September 1995, Ganesha statues and statuettes began to accept offerings of milk all over the world, you placed a spoon-full or more of milk at the base of its trunk and it would accept it, the milk would slowly vanish in your presence as you held it in offering. This occurred for that day only everywhere from Bombay to New Delhi, from Nepal to Karachi, London to Toronto.....and then just as mysteriously...it stoppped.

The African deity "Papa Legba" is a "gatekeeper" Other deities have their uses, but I am not promoting any belief systems or deities here. I hope this helps.

hehehe .....Oh yes, it is also the case that the most potent name of God to invoke for meditative practice or trance is of course Allah, it is the most rythmic and Gnosis inducing appellation of the supreme Divine being. But I bet you already knew that.

We can be certain that Jesus of Nazareth lived and died. We are also certain that early Jewish Christians, Greeks and Romans had far better information about the life and times of the man Jesus than we do at present, we are 100% percent that this information was largely suppressed and destroyed by later church authorities, but for the intrepid and the brave, the life of Jesus can be whispered through the ghosts of history.

It is clear that Jesus was tried for sedition and sentenced to death by crucifixion, we know this because the Roman’s although merciless were not careless, they recorded details of all capital trials, unfortunately the details of the trial records of Jesus did not make good reading for Christians, it talked about “Jesus’ gang, Brigandage, highway men and robbers”, it contained none of the present day fairy tales of Jesus bantering with Caesar “Are you the King of the Jews?” e.t.c, e.t.., The very idea of an accused speaking back at Caesar in first century Palestine is laughable. In fact the trial records reflected so badly on Christianity that Jewish Christian authorities would not even pick up a copy of the proceedings, and when it was finally made public in the 3rd century…..it was disowned.

There is no evidence beyond belief and faith that Jesus rose from the dead, imagine the reaction of the Roman authorities if a man they had just sentenced to death had the temerity to climb down from his crucifixion and walk around in broad daylight for at least 40 days.

The sermon on the mount is one of the few authentic sayings of Jesus, there are technical reasons for this that I would rather not go into here, but there are dozens others attributed to Jesus that he could never have uttered, for instance, the story about the “coin in the mouth of the fish”

I would not say that the Bible has been modified, that is to imply that there once existed a more “original “version and that was never the case. Christians know only what Christian authorities wish them to know.

None of this diminishes Jesus. Whether you refer to him as a deity or a God or a son of God is largely irrelevant. Jesus is in the pantheon of the greats and stands unique as the emanator of compassion to mankind. In truth, man looks in the mirror and creates his God in his own image, we create our own deities by constant adoration and once that adoration ceases, the gods cease to exist. One hundred years from now our descendants will deify and worship Mother Theresa. Deities are an emanation of the Supreme Divine being in a form knowable to humankind.

Deep stuff.
How are these deities invoked? Is it by just mentioning their names?
A list of some more deities and their mandates would be nice if it's not a bother.

Dear assassin, your pot of spiritual meat is deep and strong.

How did you get to this spiritual level? You speak with a certain knowing. Can you see different dimensions simultaneously?

My question: Did Jesus really existed in the context that we place him today? Was he an actual historical figure? Because evidence abound that shows that Jesus character is based upon much older myths.

Thank you. I wrote on another thread that the most powerful Divine name to invoke for meditation practice is Allah. The rythmic incantation opens up the avenue for communication with one's greater self. "Al" on the in-breathe and "lah" on the outbreath produces a rythmic harmony causing the heart to resonate in sympathy.

And just so Christians do not feel left out, the above works also if one invokes the name of God as Jesus himself would have pronounced it in his native Aramaic..."Alaha"

The answer to your second question is Yes.

The Proverb, "half a Word is enough for the Wise". So please read again, The Gospels, Hebrew and Revelation. And you will know, that Christ Jesus, is no Myth. He is History, Dreams and Imaginations made real. By the way, how much do know about St. Paul and the generation of his Training Institutions. Saul was an Atheist became Scribe, became Rabbi, and had Vision, saw Jesus and became Paul and an Apostle of Jesus. The Bible is sacrosanct. Until you can beat these qualities and experience of St. Paul, there're numerous real quality Assurance about Jesus of Nazareth, Born of The Virgin Mary, Son of God, CHRIST, God in Heaven.
