MizCharm:Theres no other way to live. And, its incomprehensible if you are not living in it. Oh what joy that fills my soul. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Ranchhoddas: 10:36am On Dec 21, 2016 |
What is role of Alexander Graham Bell in all these? It's strange that his name did not pop up once in this article |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Ranchhoddas: 10:39am On Dec 21, 2016 |
Anas09:Explain yourself. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 10:41am On Dec 21, 2016 |
Ranchhoddas:[b]Graham Bell came later that was why he wasnt mentioned. Meanwhile even if he was mentioned you do know that Alexander Graham Bell was a Christian as well. He however improved but also borrowed from the concept of the telegraph machine |

Ranchhoddas:"And, its incomprehensible except you are living in it" You need to live it to understand it. No one can really explain how it feels to live in Christ. Joy envelopes you. You are not afraid to die. Anyone who is afraid to die, is not born again. You go through worst situations because you can not do what everyone does, but, Hey! "This little affliction can never be compare to the glory awaiting me. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 2 Corinthians:4:17 Just imagine this. 22 Copts are Catpured by ISIS, and one after the other were asked to deny Jesus and live, yet all of them preferred to die for Christ. And, one after the other, they watched how the heads of their brethren were chopped off. What do you think its responsible for that? Matthew 10:39 For, those who try to gain their own life will lose it; but those who lose their life for my sake will gain it. Again, have you watched NDE? I have watched many. The ones who met with Jesus, ALL OF THEM WANTED TO STAY OVER THERE. Jesus says, its not yet time, they say, NO, I WANT TO STAY. All of them, young or old, they say the same thing. When it comes to that part, watch their facial expressions and see how their faces breaks into a smile spontaneously. That is the feeling one has when you live in Christ. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians:5:8 The world is crashing around you... Our reaction is "When others are saying there's a casting down, We say, there's a lifting up". When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Job:22:29. For my Redeemer lives. When people are feeling bad because someone dear to them died, we say, "see you soon". For we know that soon we shall all be resurrected and shall live again. When people are crying because theres no food, we say, " Man does not live by bread alone... Its an awesome experience really. |

Where do I even begin ![]() |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by benzics(m): 12:34pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
Yes, Christians did all those WITH THEIR BRAINS not PRAYER!! That's all that matters, religion is just an opinion, developments are always welcomed irrespective of religion.. So I don't see the need for this post, because GOD wasn't involved! |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by bennyann: 1:46pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
This shows Christianity has been the foundation, solid rock of anything good and beneficial to humans - Before the other side starts stealing from them, building on the foundation that doesn't belong to them, Imitating and mimicking so it'll look like they are the originators. They lie so much to themselves to the extent they themselves now believe the lie to be truth. I have nothing much to say. Kudos to you 4everGod. All these you do are nothing small, you have no idea the little ones you've helped grown with them. I pray you continue to use this gift for God's kingdom, I also pray at the end of this, all you do here won't be in vain. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 1:58pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
benzics:Oh so now Christians are intelligent! Wow what a quick about turn from you. so all the glory given to God throughout each step of the invention and actualization did not show you that God was involved?. Go and sleep. All of you are butt hurt |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 1:59pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
bennyann:Amen and Amen. indeed we are the light and salt of the earth. Nothing can change that. |

Wait... God suppressed knowledge?? |

| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:06pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
randomperson:if you had watched the last video even the historian said the period before and leading up to the invention of the telegraph machine was known as THE GREAT HUSH. The bible says that God makes everything perfect IN HIS TIME so I can safely assume that he suppressed knowledge until such a time it was required then the idea of the telegraph was given to a man such as has never been done before. A man out of the blue just imagined he could communicate with someone else while being absent from there and he went ahead to create a machine and also create a unique set of codes to go along with it. Immediately after that every other thing regarding communication fell in place. It wasnt coincidental...go and research history and you will see that everything fell in place immediately after the telegraph came. Today you have the advanced kind of telegraph in your hand as a smartphone. Now you know its history. |

4everGod:lol. Are Christians different species of humans? We are all humans, just what makes Christians or theists less is their belief in an imaginary being. I was a Christian, and I was the most intelligent person in class, before exams I read the Bible first before reading my books, I prayed before righting exams, at the end I would be the first in class with an average of 80+, and I gave all thanks to "God".. Since I became an atheist, I've stopped praying or reading the Bible, and am still the best in class.. Your intelligence isn't because of an imaginary being! |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by randomperson: 2:20pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
4everGod:- who ever said Christians are not intelligent?? Of course Christians are intelligent, just like Jews, Buddhists e.t.c - And if you're claiming the fact that they gave glory to god means god was involved, u couldn't be more wrong. Christians give thanks to god when anything good happens to them. For example they give thanks to god when they give birth to beautiful babies but if the babies have down syndrome or anencephaly it's a different story all together. Unless you are saying if a Muslim give thanks to his god for something then invariably, the Muslim god was involved. -Christians scientists did not invent BECAUSE of god, they invented INSPITE of god. Scientists that have rejected the idea of God have not experienced retrogression in their scientific research. In fact, scientists are increasingly becoming atheist. And the argument can be made that as knowledge increases, god reduces - The Asian countries that are developed didn't need god or Christianity. In fact countries like china, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore can give the west a run for their money. - And since hopeful landlord used the word butthurt on you yesterday, you have been repeating it like a nursery school student. Well I guess repetition is a sure way of learning and u really have a lot to learn |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:21pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
benzics:And i suppose your intelligence as an atheist is because you left Christianity right? I suggest you go through your post history and begin counting how many times you said Christians were dumb because they were religious. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by randomperson: 2:23pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
4everGod:- so does suppression of knowledge include medical knowledge because all the people killed by diseases that were later preventable would have lived if god didn't suppress knowledge... - and what changed that stopped god's suppression of no knowledge. What made god changed his mind |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:28pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
randomperson:Abeg go and sit down somewhere with your predictable tantrums. Who cares about what your opinion is when its like a dust in the wind. Christians never cease to give Glory to God for anything we do because we believe that their is a creator whom we owe all our wisdom and intelligence to. How does that affect you? If the Asian countries which are developed today did not need God does that stop them from being part of His creation? Even the Asian countries still rode on the back of the telegraph as without its arrival information spread would have been so slow that development would have greatly suffered and perhaps we would have been in the development of the 1900s if not for the invention of the telegraph. It revolutionalized telecoms and became the carrier of ebery other form of communication we know of or have today. If the very first man who invented a car Karl Benz did not do so would you be talking about the latest model of any vehicle today or even a hybrid of any vehicle today? Oga abeg shift. This thread is not for debate as its not debatable. The facts speak for themselves. The whole world knows it. Even atheists such as stephen fry know it. So you can put your argument in your pocket or lodge it in the bank. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:28pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
randomperson:Read my last comment and pocket your argument. Everything depended on communication. Any discovery needed communication to travel and be replicated. Every medical breakthrough needed communication. If you still do not realize the strenght in communication then OYO is your case. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:31pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
Besides even if i want to talk about Alexander Graham Bell the man who actually transformed the telegraph to a telephone we would still be talking about another Christian because that was who Graham bell was. A Christian! |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by jonbellion(m): 2:31pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
4everGod:even if smartphones are modified telegrapbs (an errenous assumption what does that have to do with anything Anybody could have made the telegraph if a christian did not And Stephen fry is a comedian |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:34pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
jonbellion:Argument into the future fallacy I guess you have no clue what an invention is do you? Has it ever been attempted before? Who ever imagined that from letter writing which was physical contact to physical contact anyone would imagine communication in absence of physical contact. That was a radical invention. You say you are studying computer programming. Samuel Morse did not study up to one fourth of what you know but he made an invention that turned the world upside down. Where is your invention as a nerd? |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:39pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
randomperson:Because you are new on NL i will forgive your ignorance. The term BUTTHURT has been since ever before you were born and there are numerous memes online about it. Its a common word thrown around by everyone and not a new dictionary discovery. Save yourself from being ignorant. |

| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by benzics(m): 2:43pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
4everGod:I can relate being dumb as a Christian, arguing with atheists and asking them questions like "if God doesn't exist, can you explain how miracles happen"(where in fact I've never been a witness of miracles) And no, I am not intelligent because I left Christianity, I've always been intelligent, just that once in my life, I believed in fairy tales.. And that to me is dumb.. But academically, I was great, I even started programming at the age of 11, I was the curious type, I always asked myself "how are websites made, I want to be able to make one", and I started reading books online.. My curiosity led me to becoming an atheist. I remember my uncle once telling me, "you think you are smarter than god? All those researches you are doing are led by the devil to make you deviate from God, so I advice you to stop doing such researches, you are too young to be an atheist" Can you imagine, telling me to be IGNORANT instead of asking questions, that's why I think belief in religions are pretty stupid. Ben Carson is an intelligent man, but he believes in "god", that's just where he lags behind.. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by randomperson: 2:43pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
4everGod:It's still my first comment and you're already running scared?? The points I raised were not even specifically for you. They are for any Christian who can posit contrary but intellectual arguments. Nothing in the Op proves that Christianity is synonymous or even relevant to scientific invention. Not the appreciation of the Christian god by some scientists and not even the argument that many of the past scientists were Christians proves that point. And the Christian scientists also rely on inventions and discoveries from other climes. Why don't u just Google inventions by the Chinese.. |
| Re: The Christian Legacy Of Smartphones by Nobody: 2:44pm On Dec 21, 2016 |
jonbellion:keep on tinkering. Talk less and do more thats what a progressive mind does. A regressive mind talks a lot and that is what you have been doing all this while on NL. Dedicate more of your time to your tinkering and quit being a jackass and a smudge on the pavement of NL. |

4everGod:Think before typing... Where did I say it's a new dictionary discovery? But before yesterday I never saw u use it and suddenly u already used it like three times on this thread... Of course butthurt is a common word, am just wondering why you're so insistent on using it |
