I'd say it depends on the working conditions, what responsibilities and plans you have and the possibility of you getting support from elsewhere. I'm a fresh graduate myself just got through with NYSC and 30k sounds unthinkable to me.. All the best still.. |

Pidgin2:- Ma, if i say to you the road is easy i lie. Even admist profit i have had my loss. This year alone i was swindled 6.8million I lost 2million also all in business. But i still put them behind and moved on. Its not all easy in business but like i said earlier there is something called standard and what you take to be a standard becomes a norm over time. If you are the type with goal you then readjust your standard to a high standard but for some others that norm of yours is a standard so high. It boils down to Dream, Believe, Actualise it. For example i have a standard of a minimum of 2million naira in profits monthly. I do hit my standard always at times thrice the standard. Now i no longer respect that standard and i later re-adjusted to a 3.5m standard which scares the hell outta me. But i know its aomething i have to do to earn better. Why should i work as a marketer in a bank trying to keep a 1billion naira account target limit for someone when you can do that for yourself? Standards are relative. I have a friend who to him 2million a month is just 1/10th of his monthly earnings. Now to me that is not evem realisable. Because our business are both different and capital are miles apart. But in thia case of the poster 30,000 needs no capital. - In europe what you earn even as a janator is wnough to cater your expenses, this is not the case in Nigeria. Dear if the rubbish work we do will earn us millions to be able to feed outselves. Nigerians will be proud. If you are a driver you will be shy to say so but if as a driver you earn N1 million a month. You will be proud to call yourself a driver and let the world know you a driver. Life examples are tailors like Yomi Casual, Bng clothing and likes... - Failure is never an excuse. I dont want to sound religious or controversial here. I am an Atheist and i believe that humans are product of their HardWork. There is no god helping you. You are the reason for your hardwork. Ma evem getting a job has secrets- some individuals complain no job but way they go around applicatioms are wrong. Some individuals here will tell you how to get the personal email of the cbn governor amd mail him for a promotion or get the phone number of a key personality in your targeted firm and push buttons. The difference between Dangote and You is just information. Difference between those who failed and those who succeeded in business is just information |

Ymodulus:Bla..bla..bla..bla.bla..........Mr thinker & entrepreneur, d dude simply ask for an advise, and here are u intimidating him with ur bogus & unascertain success story. If its sooo rosy for u from d start, it doesn't replicate same to others. Some start small & grow from there. Do u know his financial status & family background?. Now that u are discouraging him, oya kukuma employ him & b paying him N300k every month na! Those working for u, i hope u are paying them above N30k? If NO, then i can conclude u c them as been stupid to work under u & receive such meager pay. Look, people have business ideas, but d absence of funds to execute has rendered many handicap thereby resorting to any means of survival. Life is a story & we all have different story to tell. Mine can't b same with urs. So, stop discouraging d dude. . |

Ymodulus:Your views are interesting but not totally correct. As you have mentioned that you are an atheist I understand that we view the world differently. You say where a person finds himself in life is a product of his hard work and is entirely up to him but I'm of the opinion that despite hard work you may not succeed Some people move from being refuse collectors to owning refuse collection companies, others become beggars even after spending the same amount of years. Some times these things happen from your choices or even from the type of family you come from You are lucky your family, friends and relatives allowed your business to prosper, there are some people who will do everything to hinder another person's progress. The man collecting 30K today may own his own company tomorrow, allow him learn and understand things on the job. Easy wealth will vanish easily but when one takes time to build his or her wealth it will last longer Do not despise the days of small beginnings. |

Pidgin2:I understand this well at a point in time. Let me say by december last year i couldnt do things i do now. So i understand this. However it doesnt mean we shouldnt shun little things amd aim high.... If i had believe everyone has to start from a point and accepted a job of 100k+ , i wont have gotten a 500k naira loan interest free to push up my dreams to the millions it is now. If i had the believe i have to start from where i was, i would have still be working as an On air Presenter and News paper reporter all for the 100k and not planning to even settle down soon...... Some proverbs are getting outdated and need to be changed. Example: 1. Patience dog eating fattest bone. 2. Start small go big. In this world of dynamic changes things are different. - You talk about relatives? In nigeria once you an atheist and you progressing. Your family will belief you are of an imaginary devil. So its a different world entirely... Aside on a side note i enjoy your mode of conversation ![]() |

| Re: Is 30k Enough For A Fresh Graduate? by Nobody: 2:52pm On Dec 22, 2016 |
Ymodulus:Lol thanks We are not all the same there's nothing outdated about being patient, it will still be applicable even in future. I know you are popular here but allow people to learn and grow. What our ancestors achieved with patience is what we are struggling to achieve without it. Money might be easy for you to make but how long do you think you can maintain such easy money? That is why you spend millions on drinks in one day, take it easy sha |
| Re: Is 30k Enough For A Fresh Graduate? by Ymodulus: 3:06pm On Dec 22, 2016 |
Pidgin2:I didnt say i spend such on drinks... i said i can spend such on it if i so desire.... Common we all have to save for the raining day. Or invest hard for it. Now for me things are harder than it use to be. This month profit has been so low but at least all summed together is still more than 2 unit of 6digits. Sarcastic: i plan entering into politics by 2023. I hope you vote me. That way i can keep making it easy. And we can dasukilise things... it wont be N- Power but YP - Power |

@OP, it is well with you. I understand that survival in Nigeria may not be very easy. Also, your pay may be very small for now. Who knows, a bigger breakthrough might be waiting for you on your job. Most importantly, don't get too comfortable with that job, it won't do you any good. |

Take it and get experience. You'd be more valuable than another with similar qualifications who is just idling. |

Sorry to derail the thread, @seun/modulus,please can you bring back that bitcoin thread you deleted? You can move it from business section to investment section. And please edit your rule no 16. Crypto is the next big thing now. Do your research. Trump appointed a blockchain guy as his minister of budget. India has accepted it and many other countries are finding a way to latch to it including Nigeria. I was late to the party but so far so good. I bought at 759$, today its over 860$ |

Ymodulus:Keep in mind that this Young Man doesn't think like you, he hasn't read nor seen the things you have.. he doesn't have access to the kind of information that enabled you to start off better so just let him. Poster, Take the job so you can cater to your basic needs for now, then take the time to develop yourself and expand your knowledge. Don't let anyone's success distract you we all have our time, just take your time. Over time you'll discover your own gold mine.. just remain disciplined, determined and focused, cos that's all you need. |

Ymodulus:One thing you still dnt understand is that the story of life is different for everyone. Dt you are making it in entrepreneurship does not mean everyone will otherwise why do you think we have few dangotes in Nigeria. I kw alot of people who left a paid employment dt pays over 200k plus monthly to rush into entrepreneurship after hearing success stories like yours and today they are sooo broke and even begging to teach in private primary sch for 10k monthly. Entrepreneurship demands alot and not everyone can be an entrepreneur. If you give 100 people 10million each and allow them to go into biz with it for 5 years, not up to 30% can pay back dt amt even without interest so 70% basically failed. You are among d 30% n nt everyone can be like you. Got dt nw |
