I have been thinking of upgrading my Kia Optima LX 2006 model to something better. Not made up my mind yet, but in the entire car section I think Cityhood was my surest bet. However, thanks buddy for the update and will think of other option (obviously physical inspection included). Although, my first car was gotten through my younger brother in Lagos (I've had no issue with the car whatsoever).

As an ardent user of online platforms, I must say I had a transaction with one dude in Port Harcourt way back, maybe 2007. He wanted to get $1,000 worth of Paypal funded into his account, contacted me and before I could say jack this dude wired the full money into my GTBank account.

I called him and told him my capacity is to deliver $200 per week into his Paypal account and in 5 weeks we would be done, he said no problem and I kept my side of the bargain. I told my friends after the deal that I fear this dude will be frauded going into the future because the way our deal went he would apply same to another and gbam!!!

You see sometimes, you carry out successful online transactions and take such experiences going into the future, apply them to future transactions and they fail. Every online transaction is unique. Carry out proper due diligence before passing your hard-earned money down the line. I also got a thing or two to learn from all the wonderful comments as I prepare for an upgrade into 2017.

I was even eyeing one manual Honda accord(baby boy), though it wasn't actually what I had wanted. I wonder why honesty is a difficult thing in naija business.I have always posited that It is easier to be honest than fraudulent. For me, cityhood was not a fraudulent guy from the onset. The testimonies about him said it all. He only allowed greed and insincerity to set in. How can he say he never knew a car he confidently advertised to customers "as buy and drive" never had all these faults? I bought the highlander basicaly for xmas groove. But it's said to say I'm still trekking as of today. I expect cityhood to come out here and defend himself. Keeping mute and secretly reading the comments here won't solve the issue. Auto section will completely loose the trust of customers.

I have presently spent 120k for the repair of the vehicle, will still go there to spend more tomorrow.
Cityhood told me I'm buying 2005 model, but when my automedics mechanic checked it with their machine, the year of production shows November/2002.
Cityhood said the car is in buy and drive condition which is true but the issue when you press the turtle fully, it can not go more than 60km/hr, (meaning that Usain bolt can even run more than the car). I have spent 120k on that now alone still waiting for the results tomorrow, and don't say the mechanic does not know what he's doing because I'm using the best, an automedics, he works with BMW franchise in Nigeria (coscharis abi wethin be there name).
Cityhood told me ac is chilling, when they brought the car to me, I told him the ac is not working, cityhood said probably the mechanic driver used it finish that I just need to gas it with 2000naira. Today the AC guy came to check it and told me for the ac to work, the condenser and two other things need to be changed which will cost me 40k to repair it.
No time for the AC yet, still battling with the acceleration problem of the car. When I'm through with that will then do the AC issue, after that will give the rewire guys because the dash board so on not working, I don't know how much that will cost me yet. Practically will have to spend like 200k extra for a Buy And Drive Car.
Also before the car was brought to me I gave Mr Dada cityhood 40,000 to help me install DVD reverse camera in it, it was installed But it not working, just blank , when i told him he said probably its because of the long distance journey, but till now it's not working.
The most painful thing is I begged him that this is my 1st car that he should recommend any of his car he has with him that will not give me any issue.

I have been on nairaland for a while now and surprisingly today is the first time i'd read/make comments on this section. I have had dealings with Dada,directly and indirectly. I know quite a number of people that have had dealings with him. mind you,face to face transactions! I have been to his car stand severally,just by the flyover bridge,kwangila, Zaria. so I know this person. He knew what he was doing,this isn't the first time it's happening and it won't be the last! Lolz. This is exactly my story. Please create another tread and narrate your story. People need to learn from us. This is thesame car he told me was a direct toks because, my friend needed a car and I asked him to buy from cityhood since he's the one I'm buying from. Thank God they guy couldn't meet up because of financial constraints. I would have been battling with double issues.

Truth be said, I have taken the pain of visiting cityhood once in Zaria on account of a vehicle he advertised here and I was highly disappointed. The vehicle a Honda accord 07 had multiple hidden faults. From the engine to the steering to the shocks to the breaks. Even the interior was an eyesore and yet he concealed most of those all during our conversation.

Fact is that he's not a car dealer but a sales rep
His outlet is just a mechanics shop with one or two cars parked in front.

One thing you must give to him is that he's good at taking pictures from deceptive angles.

After my experience with him, I stopped looking for cars on NL and online cos I realised how deceptive it could be. Your best bet is to buy from a car dealership in person or from someone you know willing to sell.

Do you get custom papers without paying import duties

Do you import what has been imported

Do you pay custom duties just to get another custom papers
Ask car dealers around.

He claims a car dealer used the car with car dealer plate number but the date on the custom paper will raise question looking at how used it is

Na me for buy the car. But wen I asked him of the ac and other things, he couldn't answer well. We agreed on 880k. But his inability to explain things well made me forget the car. He was even telling me i should be fast to buy it else another Nairalander will get it b4 me.
