Hi Guys,

Trust you have all had a great day, congratulations to those whose TRV has been approved and congrats to those whose passport has been requested for. Those who are traveling may the good lord give you journey mercies.

Please I have a question. My tuition fee for the first semester was paid in installment as given by the school, the first installment was paid to reserve a seat for my program and the second installment was paid to complete my payment for my tuition for the first semester.

However, when I submitted my application, the receipt for the first installment was the only evidence of payment submitted (this is because I hadn't paid for the second)

Now that I completed my payment is it advisable to inform CIC ?

@Folaroyal can you kindly respond to this sir. Thanks in anticipation.

I know there's a slot where you are allowed to add documents after submission.... It should be somewhere on the online account page.

But since you already submitted that of the deposit, you may choose not to bother unless otherwise a VO sees it as a requirement to fulfill unconditional offer.... in that situation they will officially request you to make payments and send proof.
Meanwhile.... Cic clearly indicates that payments of tuition is done at your own disposal (risk) unless they request you to do so.
In my own case, I made payments towards deposits but I just did not include in my application.
Regards.

Police clearance is not compulsory and it is not a requirement when applying for Student Visa. so no need to be disturbed.

Adedrizzy:
Compliments to everyone on here,
Please how is it possible to submit Police clearance after submitting my applications via paper route cos i once read it was compulsory to submit alongside the documents.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by joblinks1: 5:29pm On Dec 30, 2016
if you are applying online or through paper route , just scan / photocopy your certificate and include in your application.
Ensure what you include in your application is clear .

guzan:
I can't find my original birthcertificate. Is it safe to upload the scanned copy of the photocopied one to my application?

Greeting everyone. Please my people my sponsor just request me to send him a sample of how an affidavit of sponsorship looks like. Can anyone help here please? Or give details that can be there so I can draft it myself. Thanks
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Teddywhiz1: 6:27pm On Dec 30, 2016
Good day house, already gathered all necessary documents for my application by next year, my only fear or concern now is the SOA and sponsorship..... Because it's lately one one the major reasons for denial.... My question are;
1 .WHAT SHOULD THE ACCOUNT LOOK LIKE, IN TERMS OF FLOW OF FUNDS AND IS THERE A PARTICULAR AMOUNT FOR CLOSING BALANCE ?

2.CIC REQUESTS FOR AN ACCOUNT CARRYING THE EQUIVALENT OF YOUR TUITION FEE PLUS 10K CAD FOR LIVING EXPENSES, ONCE I HAVE AN ACCOUNT CONTAINING THIS DO I STILL NEED TO CHECK FOR INFLOW AND OUTFLOW? IF YES WHAT SHOULD IT BE LIKE?

3.LASTLY IF I'M USING MY SISTER'S FATHER INLAW AS SPONSOR OR ANY OTHER PERSON NOT RELATING TO ME, HOW DO I CONVINCINGLY PROVE TO THE VO THAT HE WILL SPONSOR ME

PS:I'M USING MY DAD ACCOUNT WITH CLOSING BALANCE OF 5M AS SECONDARY ACCOUNT,

THANKS ALL IN ADVANCE

Police clearance is not compulsory and it is not a requirement when applying for Student Visa. so no need to be disturbed.

On the very contrary.... Police clearance certificate MAY be a requirement for immigrant permits (visas allowing you to stay in Canada over 6 months- work or study)
You MAY provide this for every country you have lived for over 6 months.
Applications without required documents may be deemed "incomplete".... however I have not witnessed any refusal based on non provision of police certificate.... Equally, I don't know how this is treated as the word " MAY" was frequently used all through.

@Folaroyal

let me refer to the link below

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how-documents.asp

Also from your response (in bold) ...''however VOs may not refuse applications based on such reasons as I have not witnessed any''
....so does it mean it is compulsory or not compulsory?

Because if you say an application will not be refused based on non provision of police report, it simply means police report is not compulsory.
so why the emphatic ''On the very contrary'' and you ended up contradicting yourself.

Finally I can sleep in peace after months. UPS brought my package today and the vo's rejected my application due to "travel history".

No medical mail since when I applied, zero communication from them, now this!!!!

I went in search of documentary evidences on CIC website and that has since made me to modify my earlier post... I did attach parts of CIC notes where the police certificate was required.... I observed that the word "MAY" was used all through!!
Indicating truly that though required.... it may not a compulsory doc!
In like mind.... the phrase 'very contrary' is regretted and withdrawn!.
I love the guys who study into details... Kudos

first of all, funding is not for course-based masters rather it is for thesis-based/research-based masters.
Funding in most cases depends on supervisors who determine who to grant RA/TA asides from scholarships from other sources. This is usually determined by your academic achievements.
If you want to be funded, speak to a supervisor first, if he accepts you then discuss funding with him, b4 u officially apply. Discuss with your supervisor early enough b4 funds get exhausted.
Those that do not get full funding, get partial funding. Some can get unlucky without funding at all.

Thanks so much for this. Do you think proposed supervisors would talk about funding without admission first? I'm also trying the US and I've mailed several proposed supervisors but most of them do not respond and if they do, they usually indirectly imply that funding and admission decisions are not in their hands and they refer you to the grad cord. The grad cord on the other hand can only tell you if your profile is competitive or not, he can't guarantee you either admission or funding until the application pool is examined first. I really hope canadian supervisors would be different

Ohhh... So sorry to hear that!... This will not deter you.... will it??
But are you certain it is just travel history or with other reasons?
It's really unlikely to be just travel history... isn't?
Kindly reconfirm.

Obviously... the embassy will not request for a passport to stamp refusal .... only TRVs are stamped on request of passports.
