Taking one along to your interview is essential. Uploading while filling the form is also good; to me, it presents nicely.

Hello VO, i once applied for US visiting visa and i was deneid, it was only me that applied but i want to reaply again with my wife and u have two questions to ask and i will be most grateful if my questions can be answered.

1. Please can consular officer reopen my previous application because i want to make a change of my information because there was alot of mistakes in my previous information which i presented on DS-160 Application form at first time i applied.

2. Can i answer any question directed to my wife because my wife cannot speak in English very well as i can?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 11:47pm On Dec 31, 2016
@soney
1. Yes. Every Previous application is viewed. So be honest to yourself. Mistakes and lies are not the same
2. The vos can seak/understand pidgin and have interpreters so if they want her to answer any question , she will have to answer it

Happy NewYear Everyone!

I have a concern about my renewal. I did drop box and upon checking few days ago, got a message saying "Ready" your case is open and ready for interview, fingerprints and required documents, if you have already had your interview, please check your status after 2 business days. If no interview required, pls check back in 2 business days for the status of your application.

* What do I do? wait for a call or email from the embassy?
* would my passport be returned to DHL for pickup with an interview letter or date or do I just get an appointment date ?
* Do I need to get documents for a fresh interview?

Just a little confused here. traveled to the States twice before my visa expired, didn't overstay. Not sure why am getting this message. Could it be because I have a business/work Visa in another Country which is stamped on my passport? My previous Visa was B1/B2, I use to work in a Federal Gov. office when I got this Visa but I have my company now which I started after my first trip to the States.

Would appreciate some response from VO or anyone with same experience...

@greggy
It is clearly stated that one could be called for an interview. Folks get called for interviews all the time for diverse reasons. Folks here can only speculate on that and that will not solve ur ish.
If you are called for an interview, then they require clarification for something. You go and answer them. Shikena, no biggie.

You may be be denied.
1. Did your uncle enter the US Legally?
2. Two grown men, even though related, travelling together to the US, to visit their Uncle?

She's nice actually. Go build your ties and reapply.

Ralfoosha:
Hi, I will like to share the transcript of my interview that took place in August- I was denied... I have few questions too, please bare with me.

ist time experience. After the long queue, and crossing the road from one building to another, I was dehydrated and was getting tired.
Lagos, 9am last cubicle to the left, a German-looking lady, no smile, no chills.

me: Good morning / vo: good morning
vo: pass me your passport (I pass am)
few seconds passes
vo: where you dey go? / me: Im attending a film fest in Long Beach, Cali
she opens my passport, looks at the visa I had on it before for a while (Na Tanzania). Cant remember if she asked if I've traveled before...
Vo: you don marry? / me: yes, I am
vo: any pikin? / me: No, we are expecting
she no look my face. type, type, type... she pulls out the ugly blue paper and passes it with my passport
vo: sorry your visa can not be approved at this time, but you can reapply anytime.
me: thank you (with the fakest smile in the world)
N34,600 visa fee, just like that? Na hin I throw her my own puppy-eye polite question
me: Sorry, but may I really know why my application was refused? (I don turn to vo)
vo: the paper explains it. (she paused and thought she should just be nice for once, me sef tanda...she continues) "You are still building" you are welcome to reapply anytime.

Question A
Please, what could it be that I'm building? confidence or ties? (I knew I was apprehensive during the interview though)

(i mentioned her comment when I was filling this recent form under the "have you been denied before" session)
---------->>>Fast forward

I didn't know much of this thread then but now, I applied to attend a film festival in Feb, my appointment is in couple of weeks.
I haven't paid for the festival yet though because I had trouble getting a refund from the festival I wanted to attend that August which the visa application was denied

Questions B:
1. Can I change my hotel reservation prior my interview? I got a more affordable hotel; obviously the address is now different from the one I stated in my DS-160.
2. In my previous application (which I was denied) I didn't add a particular previous job experience (complete oversight)... I added it this time, hope it won't raise any brows as to why I didn't add it before.
3. Is it advisable to pend paying for the festival till the outcome of my interview (Don't know if they'll contact the organizers to inquire my attendance)
4. I may look bad asking this but, I intend to extend my stay from the number of days I've stated in my DS, but not beyond the 6 months so as not to be labeled illegal... (Purpose - I have skills in filmmaking, so I want to test the water and raise small cash before coming home. Will this extension cause future harm to me revisiting US in the future. (I get confidence say I dey collect this visa this time sha).

@Lady GridIron, FPLawyer, SeyeWesty & rest, I need your opinion and advice. I've been reading this thread pass my bible lately and I'll share my transcript be as it may after my interview.

Pray for me... gbadura funmi...

Since he entered legally, no probs. Apply alone. Depending on the failure/success of the application, then your bro can apply after you, don't apply together.

Please try and know that there's nothing like over-spiritual approach here. There are lots of better application than her own that has been denied. i am not a fan of the over-spiritualistic approach to simple matters such as visa applications. Your visas were quite easy to approve.

1. You and your sister showed concrete ties to Nigeria - you are still students in school and certainly would be expecting to come back to complete your schooling.
2. Your mom already demonstrated that she has no intention of being an intending immigrant (which means her two minor daughters are likely to be coming back to Nigeria).

Regardless of how angry the VO is, he is compelled by law to treat an application strictly on its merits. He cannot refuse you a visa simply because he had a bad day.[/quote]
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 7:45am On Jan 03, 2017
Guys guys guys. It's just a US Visa biko. If Nigeria had developed itself with its natural resources, applying for US Visa would have been a formality.
Food for thought and no disrespect intended.
To whom do we accredit as the deity behind successful US Visa applications? The God of the christian, The Allah of the muslim, The Sango of the Sango worshipper, The Amadioha of the Amadioha worshipper or the nothingness of the atheist.
You getting your visa, is at the pleasure of the consular officer and nothing else, when I went for my interview; I saw a high ranking Army officer with his family, rejected and I was given, I had just started working, after returning from the UK with my MSc.

Good people,

I hope i'm in the appropriate thread.

I intend booking a flight to the US.
However, i didn't see any direct flight so i would like to know the following?

1. Is it okay to transit to other countries before eventually getting to the US? i'm asking cuz someone mentioned one could have problems at the POE esp where one transits through certain countries with high radical activities.

2. where one transits tru an airport within the US, can one choose to enter the particular state to sight see, instead of being at the airport waiting for hours to board the flight to the eventual destination (looking at a 4hour wait period).

3. where one chooses to enter at the transit state, would one have issues at the POE since the intention is just to look around before proceeding to the final destination.

Layover /stopovers in other countries does not entitle you to enter that country. You must have a visa. So if you want to enter those countries, if yoy don't have a visa, you will definitely have issues. And fyi 4 hours isn't a long wait.
Yes some countries are high on the US's watchlist and attract a higher level of scrutiny(eg colombia) . But if you have nothing, to hide then no ish.
