The concept of being a man is never taught to the male child Buh instilled, being a perfect man ends when he is in the grave..


Because I'm a man expectations always surpasses result there's pressure from my father my mother my sisters my wife and my children... I have no choice but to succeed....



Because I'm a man I've got to swallow the silence pill, I have to act a "man" I have to forgo the opposite sex's lapses. If possible I have to turn the other cheek.. Its my right to get trampled on by the opposite sex.



Because I'm a man I should be a robot I've got little or no rights to be emotional. If I do then I'm weak, I become less than a man.. I have to bottle up emotions and keep up appearances, just because I'm a man.



Because I'm a man mistakes must be far from me,i'm expected to be all perfect,infallible and all knowing.... Any error is a sign of weakness and a quality of a poor leader..




Because I'm a man I take what I'm given,if I ask for too much then I'm greedy ....I strive hard to get whatever I have so as to make a better life for my wife and kids and when I do this, I get reminded "it's a man's world " and I was just being a man...

Nice write up op, the part where you said the boy child is not taught to be a man, don't you think it's because the society we live in today, is tilted in a way that is favorable to the male child hence putting him in an advantageous position, so to whom much is given, a lot is required as well.
Secondly, if you think because you're a man and must follow all these rules, then in the long run, you may end up having issues with your self esteem.
Lastly from what i read so far, it seems you are putting blame on the female folk, rather than the society that has put you in that situation.
