After eight months, Nigeria has reclaimed its spot as Africa’s largest oil producer, edging out Angola by a few thousand barrels per day. In March 2016, Angola overtook Nigeria as Africa’s largest producer, with a production level of 1.782 million barrels per day, as Nigeria produced on 1.677 million bpd that month. According to the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) monthly oil report for December 2016, Nigeria pumped 1.782 million barrels per day while Angola produced 1.688 million barrels per day. Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, had initially said Nigeria had hit 1.9 million barrels of oil in December 2016. Nigeria however exported less crude to the Unites States than Angola did in the month under review. “US imports of Angolan and Nigerian crude increased to 307,000 b/d and 303,000 b/d, respectively, by mid-November,” the report read. Quoting a Stanbic IBTC report, OPEC said .

As at that time, I registered at CSCS office Marina (somewhere between NSE and CBN).

But I think you can now do it online

https://www.cscsnigeriaplc.com/home/register

Just read the procedure carefully.

Watch out if Govt is partnering with them as they are doing in many companies right now.secondly, remember they have a different year end period.Since september is their year end,i think it is too early to dive..........Get those stocks that has December as year end as the results are expected now and next month.we will be making money when we follow the market terms and languages.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by OBAGADAFFI: 10:29am On Jan 13, 2017
emmanuelewumi:

Cscs account is different from The special account.

Special account is also from CSCS.

You can only sell through the account.

https://www.cscsnigeriaplc.com/home/specialaccount

Special Account

Investors are able to have special stock accounts separated from those under the stockbroking firms through which they can have full control and management of their shareholdings in CSCS System…

Account Opening
A shareholder can become a member of special account holder in cscs System by collecting a free Special Account Form from CSCS office. The Form is filled and submitted to CSCS with the required fee of =N=5,000.00 for individual stock account or =N=10,000.00 for Corporate stock account or Family account. A signature mandate card is required to be completed by the investor for future transactions or correspondences with CSCS. These arrangements ensure that the special account can only be operated strictly on the owner's instruction through the mandate instruction in CSCS

At the point of opening the account in CSCS System following the submission of the completed form, the investor's stockholding under different stockbroking firms are consolidated in to the special account, using the detachment form containing the various stocks and duly signed by the resident stockbroking firm(s) and the investor.

Subsequent Sales
An investor intending to sell parts or whole shares in the special account is expected to communicate to CSCS by filling the sale detachment form. Only the signature(s) on the mandate card is/are to be appended on this, specifying the only quantity of shares expected to be moved and also stating the selling stockbroking firm of the investor's choice. The form must also be signed by the selling stockbroking firm.

Subsequent Buys
Subsequent purchases of stocks are made by the stockbroking firms according to the mandate of the investor. Such buys can be moved into the investor's special account by the stockbroking firm or alternatively via a completed detachment form, jointly signed by the two parties and submitted to CSCS by either party for processing.

Benefits

Various shares bought from different stockbroking firms are consolidated into one account.
Shares are now under the control of the investor only.
The Brokers can only have access to the quantity the investor wants him to see or have access to.
Brokers can make purchase on behalf of their clients and instruct CSCS to move same to the special accounts of the investors. Note that only the investor can move shares out of the special account.
Stock positions of special account holders can be sent directly to investors by CSCS

"LAGOS (Reuters) - Nigeria's stock exchange NSE is working "very closely" with South African cell operator MTN on a listing of its shares this year, the head of the bourse said on Thursday.

"The pressure on MTN has never been higher to list," NSE Chief Executive Oscar Onyema told a business conference. "There's a project team working with them."

He also said local airline Med-View would list its shares on January 30
