FYI, Nzeogwu shot and killed Adegoke (one of the boys he commanded). These were young men following the orders of their superior who had lied to them that they were going on a field (training) exercise. What else can they possibly do but follow orders?

Major Sam Adegoke died in controversial circumstances in Ibadan. He was attached to the fourth battalion based in Ibadan. Nzeogwu was no where near him not to talk of killing him!

You guys should please stop distorting facts here!

Where these officers acting on behalf of the Igbo nation? Yes, they did.

So why call it an Igbo coup? It is called Igbo coup because all Igbos marked for death were never execute except for one man and no coup was stage in the east. Azikiwe was tipped about the coup.

It was not an Igbo coup because the the coupists had no mandate from the Igbo nation to conduct any coup. A lie, why? Eastern premier then welcome one of the coup plotters by helping him escaped to Ghana and also Ironsi did nothing to the coup plotters.

thank you and God bless you

Are you aware that Ironsi extradited Emmanuel Ifeajuna from Ghana after the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah? Ironsi was not part of the Coup. He was probably tipped off by Yakubu Pam or Major John Obienu one of the coup plotters that declined at the eleventh hour. You people should stop vilifying Ironsi a beg!

You were not there to see how he died yeah? If so then why not tell us in full details how Pam died? if you were asked to swear with your life on behalf of these account of how he died that you just read, would you die?

There is something called crime detection.

The bottom line of crime investigation and detection is connecting dots and building a case, with ot without witness, to get justice.

The first dot is Col. Pam called two people, Ironsi and Maimalari, and reported gun shots and siege at his home by armed soldiers.

The last person Col Pam was seen with was Major Chukwuma when he kidnapped him from home. That's the second dot.

The last dot is the discovery of Pam with bullet holes in his body.

Whatever happened between Chukuma taking him away and then his assassination,we don't know.

Major Chukwuma is responsible for providing that connection we miss. Until he does, the accusation of Pam's death hangs around his neck. He is a criminal....he must clean his name and absolve himself of Pam's death.

Qelvin, can you help him?

Crime detection does not draw it's conclusion on mere speculation, the facts on ground have to be existential, concrete, and on basis of rationality proven to be true. On that note what we read here reeks of someone's statement or report that wasn't even present in all the scenarios that played out,who was present to witness all these events and conversations right from the time Pam's house was besieged and when he was been taken away?

I pray our relationship with the Igbo race will not get to that level.
Despite all our differences and bitter experiences, we still have many ties that bind us together than what separates us.There is no permanent friend in ethno-cultural relationship but permanent interest.
The Igbo and Hausa-Fulanis were best of friends in the 1st and 2nd Republic and the Yorubas, were labeled by the Igbos, as tribalist. Who knows, the Yorubas and the Igbos might come together as political partners in the nearest future.

Do you know the history of Ibo in Nigerian politics? It started in Yorubaland. Without Yorubaland they are nobody in Nigeria. I cant even begin to count and narrate the accounts, not enough space here to do so.

They have been cornered and tamed politically. The thought was if they were allowed to exist independently and have a control of their homeland their wildness would not find cure and there is high risk they would atart another war. Nobody want to be fighting a war every few years. The solution was to make them dependent. Go and read Awo's doctrines for better understanding on the agenda. The problem we have now is getting regionalism. Once regionalism comes in Ibos would have no choice but to self govern East. Where is the human and infrastructure to do that? None. So they must continue to depend on Yoruba.....and thats where reality will set in for them.

We dont need a relationship with them, we just need to keep our eyes on Awo's doctrines and keep our progress and evolutiin going. Ibo will always be dependent on us and we in turn keep them underfoot for the taste of Lagos.....they want to live and taste Lagos, thats the hook!

And what exactly do you mean by human and infrastructure? Can't you see the more you try to make sense, the more stupid you end up looking...lmfaoooo ode, we come to Lagos because the federal presence is more prominent there with all the seas ports all all situated in Lagos, we come there, take advantage of the opportunities built there by ALL NIGERIANS and return the wealth back to our region while we control a fair share of wealth also in what we've come to know as No man's land, a fact you will either deal with or die trying, you yorubas think you are dealing with fools...there is a reason why Igbos are focused on Lagos so much, we know it's the easiest means to provoke you guys, and we damn love to see yorubas cry when we keep trooping in.

The point I made about the three location dots are corroborated by other writers.

The first dot establishes malice and calculated (premeditation) move to besiege and do harm to the occupants in Pam's house.

The second dot confirmed an execution of the plot.

The third dot is evidence that the plot succeeded.

Perharps all the writers from different witnessing points and narration were all wrong and their accounts are false. Qelvin is the only soul whose account should be accepted.

No problem, we accept your account, Pam killed himself. Now can we hear word? grin grin

A bunch of perhaps misguided military boys took the law into their own hands and decided to terminate the lives of their colleagues, truth is I would never know what got into Nzeogwu l's head to mastermind that infamous January coup...most of us weren't born then so we can only read about it from accounts of others who saw it all (and trust the stories will be riddled with half truths and inconsistent lies), so we can bash an entire ethnic group for the January coup, but it will border on sheer idiocy and hypocrisy to think the subsequent coups that happened in Nigeria weren't as bloody and merciless in its executions as the one in 1966, and that surely didn't justify the massacres of defenceless and innocent Igbo civilians all over Nigeria...but hey the great Igbo race paid the price for the misadventures of some soldiers, we have licked out wounds and moved on, today Nigeria remains a cess spit of decadence and I'm pretty sure Igbos aren't to blame for it this time.

All I just pray for right now is that my people leave Nigeria and find the much needed peace and serenity that we so need, the rest can kill each other there...it must happen in my lifetime, even if blood will have to be she'd again, I will proudly sacrifice mine for my children to enjoy their peace.
lol continue

Around 1930,this was the first appearance of anything called Ibo in Yorubaland. Prior, nobody in Yorubaland knew anything called Ibo. Yorubas that traveled or lived in North knew of people called yanminri, because many of you had migrated and lived there even before 1914 amalgamation. Ajayi Crowther lived amongst you while he was educating you about Jesus, that's about it!

So go into archives and begin to recount Ibo presence in Yorubaland and the truth will be there for you to see.

The first political gathering of Ibo was an organization called Ibo union. This union was not formed in Enugu or Abakaliki or Onitsha....it was formed in Lagos.

The first political party you all voted under was NCNC. This was a party formed in Lagos by Yorubas to oppose colonial rule. You flooded the party and took it over. We donated it to you but you ran it aground due to your lack of political savviness.

Even while we were focused on developing our region your Azikiwe ignored East and was competing with us to develop our land...but he lost the battle.

The bitterness of the loss led to him, as President, leading the referendum in Midwest and eventually carving out Midwest from Western region. That did not stop our growth.

Your coup plotters and their sponsors, Okpara, Azikiwe and Ironsi, sent your boys out to decimate the political and military elites of other tribes. You still could not stop us. We recovered and progressed.

Then your warlord completely abandoned facing his oppressors in North and headed West. You still failed.

During Jonathan tenure you totally turned the Ijaw man against Yoruba and made him believe you are the only people he needed to run Nigeria. You ruined his government for him. This did not stop Yoruba progress,in fact Yorubaland progressed and outperformed the Federal Government in public administration and socio economic development.

In all of this, since 1930, show me one positive accomplishment you have had as a region. None!

You think what I said in that statement you quoted is a joke?

Where do your leaders run to when they get money? Yorubaland. What do they do with the money? Invest it in building structure and trade.
Whats wrong with sinking that money into your land? They cannot because we have hooked them.

Your leaders are operating on remote control and Yorubas are the ones pushing the buttons. You think this is a joke? grin

NCNC was a union of parties hijacked by them ordinary APGA Ojukwu formed of what relevance is it?

Exactly my point, so since none of us here can verify that all those events played out at Pam's residence on the night of the said attack, then why waste our time on irreconcilable versions of what actually happened? you have every right to believe your version while I have a right to believe mine...at the end it's not your prerogative to make me believe your view is the one I have to believe, you can believe that no massacres took place, just the same way I'll take the version that yorubas actively participated in the coup and even praised it's success.

Imperial Yoruba,
How is the remote control operated? grin shocked tongue

It's simple! Open the economy of Lagos to them but deny them sense of ownership. It's a dangling carrot.

They believe it's almost within reach, the next 100 Ibos to build house in Lekki will put the carrot in our hand and we will be co owners of Lagos. So they keep on sinking next 100 Ibo wealth and Yoruba keep shifting the carrot out of their reach. They see it and smell it, but cant grab or bite into it. grin

Awolowo knew what makes them tick.

After years of unsuccessful efforts for recognition they became frustrated and declared if they could not own any piece of Lagos then Yorubas should not either. That's where the "no man's land" label came from.

Fashola moved the carrot close to them enough to get Peter Obi to sink billions of naira into businesses in parts of Lagos.

Agbaje said he would give the carrot to them. Eleko stepped in and said if any Ibo touch the carrot.....this Lagoon lipsrsealed

So Ambode came in and increased the carrot distance again. His first task as Governor was to revamp civil service and put Yorubas in charge. Ibos complained that he left them out of government. To show inclusiveness and representation Ambode sent task force to Oshodi to do their thing. Ohanaeze labeled Ambode Ndigbo enemy number 1. cheesy

Lately they have been shouting Think Home, Grow Home. The people advocating this live in Lagos....but telling their people to Think Home.

We know their game and we have a fix for it. We shall squeeze them dry. They can stay in Lagos but they shall never own a piece of it, however wealthy they become. They are on our hook! grin

The coup did not happen. I agree, why waste time?

I concluded this many posts ago and told you Chukwuma did not kill Pam. Pam killed himself. grin

There you go, thats it! Pam was shot by an amala eater. Elizabeth failed to prepare amala for the poor soldier, so he kidnapped her husband and shot him. grin

And they think they can Rule Again. I prefer an Ibibio or Ijaw over this Bloodletting tribe.

Ironsi was fully aware of the Coup going by the conversation between Pam and Ironsi.

And no yoruba officer was involved? You people are perpetual betrayers . I hate you people with passion

Afonja and their useless propaganda. Every tribe in Nigeria know for a fact that Igbo want to be left alone to be on their own yet you refuse and cry...they want to dominate you? Where is your sense? SMH! Keep trying to paint Igbos bad; it will not work. Other tribes know that afonjas are the cause of every single problem in this country for their indecision to stand on the path of right and truth! Including the big problem we we have now...Buhari, you connived to elect, who has destroyed lives and economy.

See zombie, dominate your makeshift country? We want to stay on our own. We are not interested in being part of your useless zoo

Look at a moronic beggar saying igbos depend on them to survive? region that are included in Buhari's 5000 naira poverty alleviation comparing themselves with great igbos. Pathetic poor delusional souls. Awo's doctrine. Doctrine of someone that committed suicide, no wonder you people are perpetual failures; following the doctrine of a complete Fulani's tissue paper

Keep quite. Do u want to deny the fact that there was wild celebration in the east after the coup? The truth is that the Igbos supported the coup because they saw it was their kit and kin who carried it out. It was ur celebrations in the north that led them to butcher u people there

Go back in history abd you will find out that there was was wild jubilation nationwide at the coup. Nzeogwus coup was well recieved by everyone at first, so you have no point.

We follow the doctrine of the Great war strategist!

Starvation is a weapon of war!

If we change the currency the Biafran pound will be worthless.
