This photo above shows the rather weird approach a landlady in Lagos employed to keep unwelcome guests away.

According to an eyewitness who shared the photos, the Landlady of the house, fixed sharp iron nails on the stone slabs in front of her house at Irebawa street, Oke - Ira, Aguda, Ogba, Lagos to keep people away from her home and demarcate her territory.

The eyewitness revealed that the woman's action endangers children and other people in the area who pass there, especially at night. In fact, a little girl has already gotten injured recently after she stepped on the nails.

Residents are calling out to the appropriate authorities for action to be taken, if this is indeed illegal, to ensure that the nails are removed to prevent future mishaps.

Can't some youths in the area destroy all those nail infested concretes overnight? angry

Those are the kind of landlords that don't allow tenants use generators in their flats and lock them outside if they return home by 11pm!

This is extreme, especially as the place is outside her fence.

A day will come when they will push her son/grandson on one of those spiked slabs and she'd blame herself.

Is a simple barricade too much?

As a constituted Authority, I don't condone this barbaric Act. it's not safe for stranger's and kids especially at night
Re: Lagos Landlady Fixed Nails In Front Of Her House To Hinder Unwelcome Guests by Nobody:
I saw something similar some years back around Jikwoyi, a small town close to Abuja.
THOUGH I SERIOUSLY CONDEMN THIS ACT.
The African man is so stubborn that only certain traditional and orthodox methods would deter him breaking simple rules. That's why majority of our motorists don't obey traffic laws, they don't use seat belts, when they get close to FRSC checkpoints, you see them rushing to get strapped. In the bank, they want to join queues, common pedestrian bridges usage. They've refused to comply with and choose to risk their lives on the highways. Put a notice that says... Don't urinate here. Some people would leave their WCs to ease themselves right on your notice.

Its an act of wickedness. If God will punish her, He should make one of her children or grand children to get seriously injure with those nails. Its then she will know that its not good to set 'trap/pit' for others to be a victim. Whatever you sow you shall reap.

Its just a way of preventing vehicles from being packed on her gutter slabs as they may not be strong enough to carry the weights of the vehicles leading to collapse and additional cost of repairs
