I'd be more than grateful to partake in this offer. Like I said previously, contingencies have kept me from taking the GRE since Oct last year. This offer would definitely top up what I've got right now. Thanks again to you and the good people behind the initiative.

Walspring:

Concerning the offer, it's 50% discount for any of the test and please do not be offended if you didn't make the list and we should try understand as well because population is more than the available slot or space

The only thing you read from it, is the escape route right? I might be wrong but thats what it looks like when people say suggest schools when you can actually search online, even present student cant give you 100% info about the situation of there school, only the grad cord can, and thats who you should make your friend..I am sorry if you find that to be an insult or judging you..BTW If you don't make any post here, your account balance wont increase nor decrease neither will it increase anybody's own too

For those few line....i respect you sir #peacemaker

Is it true that one can get USdollar @ the rate of N380 to $1 through Travelex at the airport after obtaining boarding pass.

Urgent answer needed please.

You might be lucky to get at that rate . It's better to get some from Aboki as backup

Even if its not at that rate, any thing lower than the N498 the Aboki is telling me would be fine. But I need to be sure that I can do the exchange at the airport before boarding

Hello everyone. I need suggestions please

*I was unable to write the january SAT for some reasons but i want to write the next SAT for march 11 with the aim of having a high score for scholarship purpose but someone told me TOEFL is better. How true is this cos i felt TOEFL Is only meant for knowing an applicant's English ability/proficiency.

*Also, i need ideas from those who have written SAT on how to ace it (I've downloaded study materials and started studying vigorously. I'm also following the thread for TOEFL but there seems to be none for SAT on nairaland).

I can't write the 2 exams due to financial reasons hence my post. I would really appreciate everyone's suggestion.

Thanks.

Hello dear, The SAT is not difficult as you may assume. The SAT has been redesigned (REDESIGNED SAT) which started by March 2016. This new SAT has only two sections which are Evidence Based Reading and writing section, and Maths section. The negative scoring in which a quarter mark is deducted when answered wrongly has stoped. This new SAT is one raw point for each correct answer and no point removed from wrong answer. Though this new one has limited time, but you can ace it. The have stoped using obscure words in the reading part. The answer to the reading part lies in the long passages. You have to be very very fast in reading because you gona read 5 passages of about 700 words each and answer 52 questions all within 65mins. Speed and precision is the key. The writing part is just about sentence correction and standard English conventions, 4 passages to edit with 44 questions in 35 mins. The last section which is Maths section has two parts: No calculator part which is 20 questions(15 objectives and 5 grid in) for 25 mins. Then the calculator part which is 38 questions (30 objectives and 8 grid in) for 55mins. Then finally, the Essay is optional, but it's all about analysis of a given passage,50 mins if you wanna take it. I never got the New SAT book, I got all six practice tests from collegeboard website which is the same in the book, I printed them out, though it cost me a lot, about 2 packs of A4 paper. I practiced daily using the Khan Academy official practice for SAT. My first SAT was a score of 1160 over 1600, October 2016 test date, was low for me. My second nd final attempt was December 2016 with a score of 1320 over 1600. Was a high score in the 93 percentile. I encourage you, you can do it, it requires dedication, efforts and good time management, plus smartness. Good luck dear. I wish you the best.
Success!

@Femi321, I want to appreciate you sooooooooo much. Indeed, God answers prayers. All the info I needed was painstakingly supplied by YOU. I will go through all you have said and hopefully we shall see one day. Thanks for your kind ways. My journey to academic excellence starts right now. Cheers and ward regards.

femi321:
You couldn't? All schools will have information about that on there grad school website or the department website. It also your responsibility to start mailing the Graduate coordinator of each school and specifically asking about the various opportunities for funding be it TA or RA or GA. You really need to be proactive about it, send emails when things are not clear. The grad coordinator is the best person to develop a rapport with. That was part of what got me funding, i was always in his mail asking one question or the other (Not stupid questions though). For GRE, i don't know where you can register for GRE lecture in Akure, you can try Alagbaka (I spent most of my childhood there), If you ask me, you don't need any lecture to ace GRE,all you need is to dedicate time and study hard then register online at www.ets.org. Going for lecture for TOEFL is even more shameful because TOEFL is just ordinarry English, just like WAEC. All you need to really study hard for is the speaking session and Writing. Check the following link for GRE materials and TOEFL speaking video. If you have any question, come back here and ask.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0 GRE

In the link above, you will find more than enough materials there but it will be waste of time if you use all, head to this gre thread https://www.nairaland.com/1832477/how-achieve-high-scores-gre/44#39955826 and read the thread to know how best to use the materials. If you cant read that thread, then i am sorry..you need to re-evaluate your decision for graduates study.

For TOEFL, all you need are the speaking noteful videos, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the Toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0 TOEFL

I dont know why i am trying to explain in details to you, ideally you are supposed to read this thread but then, guess i am in a good mood today or God is really on your side. Cheers

Bros, if i get you clearly, it is not necessary to wait till the graduate school offers someone admission before he/she should start sending mail to the coordinator requesting for any of the funding criteria (GA/TA/RA)?

That is why I reiterate that this thread is golden and people should read through instead of being lazy. My cousin also told me he paid for visa preparation fee two times since he was denied once. Agents are mostly greedy because they capitalists.

They don't get regular clientele thus, to maximize profits they price discriminate charging each applicant the highest they can extract. Reminds me of Itu Baba Ita Romoke's request of money for "map of West Africa"

I woke up yesterday with no means of registering for GRE, but didn't know an 'angel' in human form is touched to be of help to me. Before the yesterday curtain was drawn, she had paid for me to re-write. I have never met you @ Lagosismyhome, but your gesture touched me to marrow. God will bless you and the fruit of your loins. Every project in your life will not be abandoned in Jesus name. I promise to put in my best, and share the success story soon. Thank you House. Thank you Lagosismycreek
