And so i stared at Nene. Wondering what was going to become of our relationship now she knew the type of person i am, or rather the type of person i was. Would she ever believe i changed? Wouldnt she think that i might one day treat her the way i treated Jolade?
I closed my eyes and a tear fell. I couldnt say a word. My whole being shook. I had lost Nene. Forever. Or so i thought.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and i opened my eyes. Kainene stood in front of me. Then she mouthed 'why did you?'

I looked down again.

I just shook my head.

Then she suddenly rose on her feet, hands over her mouth and ran towards the direction i knew was the restroom due to the fact that we frequented this shop everytime.

I went after her.

I found her vomiting in the sink. She kept coughing and coughing and i had to start rubbing her back 'God, what is happening nah? Kainene, are you sure you're okay? You're not sick?'

She rinsed her mouth and face with water 'i want to go home. I'm very tired and weak'

Then i took Kainene to the car and we drove straight to a pharmacy. I bought a pregnancy strip. And then we drove back to her home.

She kept wondering what i was up to. But i knew what i was doing.

Myra was not just my secretary but my friend. She understood me very well and she never judged me unlike Kainene would. Such a beautiful down-to-earth lady. Though sometimes i suspect she had feelings for me. But then i waved it off.

'yay!' i grinned 'thats my wonderful secretary talking'

I opened the flask and the delicious aroma wafted through my nostrils and i couldnt resist the temptation to eat as my stomach already made a loud noise.

I scooped the first spoon. Delicious as usual. Reminded me of Kainene's food. I waved the thought of her out of my mind 'Myra, wont you join me?'

I quickly stood up and went after her. I finally caught up with her at the car pack. I held her hand 'Nene' i was breathing fast.

'what is it?' she asked angrily and eyed me contemptously. That was when i remembered we were still at loggerheads with each other. I let go of her hand instantly.

'i saw you in my office right now. But you just walked away, what is it? Why did you come? You have a business proposal or something?'

I stopped in my tracks. Thoughts of the blood convenant we made the day i disvirgined her came back to me. No, Kainene was better than Myra. Or maybe it was because i loved and still love her. Myra was a nice and a good girl, a good friend, but then Kainene was my love.

I turned back to her and in the coldest tone i said 'more than you can ever imagine' i turned back again.

'what about...what about the oath we took?' her voice was shaky now and i could tell she was crying.

'that?' i turned to her again 'that has been annulled a long time ago'

I swallowed hard 'yes i have'

At this point, it looked like she couldnt take it anymore. And she started crying. I felt bad for lying to her or making her cry but she deserved it.

'that blood oath was useless! It was useless! Useless! Useless!' she kicked the tire of her car with her high-heeled shoes.

'yes, extremely useless' i said in a cold tone, trying hard not to portray any emotions.

'so i think this is where we draw the curtain then' she sobbed 'goodbye Nathan. Have a nice life'

She entered her car and drove away. I looked at her one last time from her opened window. Then i slowly walked back into the company.

Nene, doesn't know what true love is. If she knew, she will understand that you gotta love the good side and bad side. Nobody is perfect, least of all, her. We're all entitled to our past, no matter how murky it may be. True love would have given Nathan a 2nd chance. But then, Nene has a chip on her shoulder the size of Kano so I am not surprised.

But this puking as a symptom of pregnancy is overrated joo. I never experienced it in any of pregnancies, not even the infamous morning sickness. But then, I guess I was lucky.
