Okay this is good, but can someone who has actually travelled through the road recently kindly give us real life citizens updates?... It's not enough to just swallow the words off the mouth of political spokespersons. After all before the last election, some dumbos actually presented computer generated pictures of some of these roads and lied to the world that GEJ the Achiever had completed the road to international standards.

If this particular road is truly reconstructed and completed to standard, then it will be a huge shame to OBJ, Yaradua and GEJ; a lot of die-hard jonathanian buhari haters would also not be pleased with this development. Some would even say things like "GEJ awarded the contract."

The construction of this road started with Jonathan, I have been passing the road for years when I was in UNN...the only problem is that the construction is slow which is common with anything federal govt is doing in the east..Buhari only inherited the contract and only small length is being worked on as usual. I can tell you that only portions between Ogbunike towards Tollgate area with a further extension to Headbridge was done by Peter Obi of which the FG later refunded Anambra state government money spent on that 15km distance. Later between 2014 to 2016 anothe section was done in Awka capital territory area which stopped at Agwu - Awka after Unizik. I can teach you more about Igboland, if you are willing to learn.

When last did you pass through this road?... Is there really progress in the construction currently or is the report on this thread just political gimmick to deceive people? ... I would love to know the true story before commenting further.

All i'm trying to say is that every single administration at one point or the other have made attempts to work on these roads but all that amounts to nothing if a significant percentage of the job isn't completed. Glory shall only go to any admin that takes it serious and does a SUBSTANTIAL job. So far the current regime has started the usual gra-gra on the road, 2 years are still left to know whether they deserve praise or not. As for the people praising the last admin for fixing possibly insignificant portions of this road, that is absolute shameless nonsense because after that admin handed over, the onitsha-enugu road still remains one of the worst roads in Nigeria.
